Another beautifully tragic one-shot here. I found muself finishing this and having a huge lump in my throat. As if the episode wasnt bad enough- you piled on even more angst- but a necessary evil- as that episode ended with so much unsaid- so abrupt- and blank. I love that you closed that chapter and so neatly I might add.
I love Bobby- and you portrayed him spot on!
Bobby opened his mouth to call nonsense, to call him an idjit, to say something harsh and brassy that would snap the kid out of his self-pity fest.(very nice!)
And then there was Dean... injured- yes- but the deeper emotional pain that we only got a second's glimpse of before the show faded to black- yet you gave us more-
If before, from the way he’d been raised and all the hardship he’d been dealt with in his young life, Dean seemed to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders, now... now, Bobby supposed, he did carry the weight of the world there. And it showed. It showed in the way the kid kept getting thinner and thinner, it showed in the way Dean’s laughter was now only a shadow of what it’d been before; it showed in the green that had grayed in to a dull version of the life Bobby used to see in those eyes.
Those lines are just poetically accurate...
Again- beautful tag... I'm only sorry I didnt have the chance to catch it sooner!

Author's Response: That episode did leave a bad taste in our mouths, didn't it? For such a heavy emotional and tragic episode, we were left with so many questions and unsolved riddles (which I'm sure was their intention all along, it being the half-season cliff hanger and them being the evowl, evowl creatures that they are). So naturally, fandom had to take its revenge on fanfic *g*
I'm glad you liked this little coda. Bobby is always a pleasure to write and his relationship with the boys is like a bottomless jar of candy that you can pick, and pick, and pick :O)
