Interesting take on the events immediately after that episode. And I can see what you meant in your review to me now - I hadn't thought about Dean telling Sam that Lucifer had killed the future Dean.

Can see that Dean would have kept that one little bit of information back because he knew Sam would react badly to the news. But what he hadn't counted on was Lucifer himself showing Sam in an effort to prove the futility of further resistance.

I'm beginning to wonder if that sort of tactic is going to start working against the angels, fallen or otherwise. Their arrogance assumes that there is only one solution - for the Winchester brothers to give in to the fate that the angels have chosen for them. It hasn't occurred to any of them that there could be another way.

And if there is, then Dean will find it.

Sam's breakdown in the shower was handled very well. Had to smile at Dean's helplessness - "He had no idea what to do with a 6'4" crying, naked little brother."

Good take on this - thank you for sharing it.

Jules

Author's Response:

I'm glad you liked the line "He had no idea what to do with a 6'4" crying, naked little brother."  because I wrote most of that story around that one line. I knew I wanted that scene and I had the first part in the car in mind but that was it. :)

Thanks so much for the awesome review!

Very good history Micaiah! I really liked how you "explain" how Sam find out about Dean's encounter with Lucifer in 2014 (I'm still wonder if Dean actually told it to Sam).

"I knew how you'd take it, Sammy, and like it or not you're still my little brother. I still have the option of protecting you if I need to."- I love this line, it's so Dean!

Anyway, welcome and hope you keep posting some more histories (and if you keep writing this good I'm definitely add you to fav).

Dany

Author's Response: Thanks so much for the wonderful review.  I also am wondering if Dean ever actually told Sam about everything he saw in 2014.  I know keeping secets got them in a big mess to start with but Dean actually seeing Sam as Lucifer might be one secret worth keeping.  Sam would be devastated.

Nice job!!  You thought about aspects of the aftermath of Lucifer's contact with Sam, and Dean's visit to 2014, that I'd never considered.  Welcome to the site.  Keep writing, girl!!!

Author's Response: Thanks Terri!  It's just hard for me to imagine that Lucifer hasn't been popping back up in Sam's dreams.  I would think he would keep on with Sam, the same as he did with Nick.  I just hope Sam is strong enought to keep saying no.

Hey there! Welcome to the fray! LOL

I have been fiercely avoiding S4 and 5 fic, but I thought I'd give this a look, since it's your first post here.

"Sam nodded but he couldn’t get the image out of his mind. He had crushed his brother’s neck like he was a bug and as he watched, Lucifer was whispering in his ear: You will say yes." I actually think Sam finding out Lucifer had killed Dean while possessing him is a really good reason to tell Sam what happened in 2014. He'd never agree to house Lucifer if he knew it would result in his brother's death. I'm glad you let him find out here.

"He was filthy with other people’s blood and no amount of scrubbing could ever remove the dark stain from his soul." Wow. Powerfully said. And such a sad image--Sam in the shower, sitting and crying. Heartbreaking.

Loved that Sam overheard Dean's conversation with Cas and the boys talked. I'm glad Sam believed Dean, too.

“He’s the freaking prince of lies!” Yes--I wish they'd point this out on the show! People keep taking what Lucifer says as truth.

"“Hey Dean,” Sam’s voice was slightly slurred. “What do you think the road to redemption is paved with?” Dean smiled. “Lots of ass-kicking, I hope.” LOVED this ending. Great question, and perfect Winchester response.

Good writing! And again--welcome! *hug*

(Also, don't be discouraged if you don't get many reviews, they are very hard to come by here, especially when you first start posting.)
