Oh Wow!  No one even remembered it was Dean's birthday?  It was sad enough that Dean was giving up everything he might become to be what he knew he needed to become but all that turmoil on his birthday.  Just the beginning of all the sacrifices he'll make and all the times Fate is gonna kick him in the behind.  Tragically sad and beautifully written.

Ouch, that last line just about broke me. It would have been his 18th birthday! I feel badly that Dean feels like he has to drop out of school so he will have his father's back. I imagine John wouldn't put up much of fight, anyway. Really enjoyed reading the story!!
