Very sorry I am so late, but we have snow here, snow, snow and more snow and everything is slowing down. "But he had you, Dean!" Bobby now spoke up..."I don't think your mom could have done any better by that boy than you did." Wonderful and very true - certainly loved Bobby's wee!story and hope there will be more!! Things become lighter a bit and I can't tell how happy I am about this. Another special moment when the doc told first Dean and then Bobby (just as I hoped!) they are both qualified to be donors for Sam. But it was actually the last part, Sam's dream that cut me to the core, his way back to Dean is amazingly written! - "No, he couldn't leave, not again, he needed him. Stumbling forward, for the first time actually running, he screamed, "No, no, don't go, please Dean..." Just wow!
Author's Response: Snow, snow, snow, don't I love it. I'm sorry, but I have been so tired to hear about the great weather in Germany, while we are having snow and ice, so I just have to get it out of the way. Anyway, thanks so much for your lovely and wonderful comments. The story Bobby told happened, it was my big sister, who did it to me. And there are going to be more stories. Things have to get better and I just couldn't let Bobby hang there and not at least be a match. I'm really touched that you like Sam's journey back so much, it means more than you can ever imagine to me. Thanks so much and I hope the weather will get better. Hugs, Vonnie

Aw, such a cute little Weechester story. I could totally see Dean doing that. :) Poor Sammy and his struggle...he's breaking my heart. At least Bobby and Dean are both a match for Sam. Hopefully, things will begin to look up. Hugs, Sonya
Author's Response: Yep, things are going to get better, but there are still a few surprises coming up. About the story, my big sister actually did that to me. Just couldn't resist. Glad you liked it. Hugs, Vonnie

A brilliant chapter, lovely story about little Sam and Dean, very cute, looking forward to more.
Author's Response: Thanks, glad you think so and that you like the little Dean and Sammy story. Hugs, Vonnie

Hi Vonnie! I told you I'd get around to reading this soon! Got snowed in today so it was the perfect chance. Now I'm all caught up! Lots of lovely brotherly moments in this fic. And poor Sammy thinking nobody should waste any time on him. I still think he feels pretty unworthy even now. So does it make me a really bad person if Sam in the towel made me slide into the gutter? :) Are you a nurse? Because I know nothing about medical jargon and such but I was believing everything you said. Very convincing! Can't wait for an update! Hugs, Sonya
Author's Response: Thanks, I'm glad you like it. Sam is having a tough time and both boys need those brotherly moments. They are always my favorite. You are talking about your mind in the gutter when Sam was in the towel, but you don't mention where your mind was when Sam was naked, so fess up, I promise I won't judge you. About your last question, yes, I am a nurse, but I haven't worked in a hospital in a long time. I work for hospice. Update should be up either tonight or tomorrow. Hugs, Vonnie

This was a beautifuly written chapter, yes, i think Jo deserves to hear some stories about Sam and Dean, after all she is a wonderful nurse.
Author's Response: Aw, thanks, I'm so happy you think so. Bobby will tell her some of his favorites, I'm sure. Hugs, Vonnie

Beautiful chapter, the changes between lighter moments (amazing Bobby buying underwear for Dean - "Dude, did you really just buy underwear for me? That's so..., I mean not even dad would do after I turned twelve or so", enjoyed this a lot) and the sad ones when Sam's condition wouldn't improve, Dean scared to leave his brother's side for just a moment - what nurse Jo did for them here was a great help, whished there would be more people like her, so yes she absolutely deserves to hear some stories about the boys - made this a bittersweet read. But at the end there was a bit of hope, when Sam finally recognized Dean; this loved face, this thought "Brother" will be his lifeline I believe (wonderful, special line here!). Thank you!!
Author's Response: Thanks, I'm always amazed at your reviews. You seemed to pick out everything that I felt was important. Sammy is starting to find his way back. And we gonna see Bobby spinning some tales, although true ones, about the boys next time. Hugs, Vonnie

Of COURSE Jo deserves to hear the Sam and Dean stories! She was great to them! I really like what you did with the inside view of what Sam is experiencing. It's very interesting.
Author's Response: Thanks, I'm glad you liked Sammy's view and we'll see what Bobby will come up with for Jo. Hugs, Vonnie

Definitely let nurse Jo hear some tales - she's awesome. You sure Dean can't come? Perhaps I can come to him instead. This pencil thing's getting a bit old. I laughed out loud when Bobby told Dean to get over it in regard to the underwear buying. I don't often do that on a story, but that line just got me. That was so Bobby. And your descriptions of the twilight world that Sam is trapped in are hauntingly beautiful. I love how he's just walking aimlessly along an unending path, searching..... That last line was superb, and so full of hope for Sam's eventual recovery. That, and the possibility that Dean, or even Bobby, will be a match as a doner. Loving this story, Vonnie, even though my hands are stumps now. Jules
Author's Response: Oh thanks so much. I loved the underwear line too and thought that's how Bobby would react. He just does have that dry kinda humor. I'm jumping here because you like the twilight world. It's really important to me to have Sam be an active part of this story and I so wanted to bring out how he feels. And yes, there is hope sprouting in him now. About Dean, he says, if you can wake Sammy up, you are more than welcome to join him. He will do the writing and more for you. He winked at me, when he said 'and more'. Hugs, Vonnie

I hope this new doctor can help! I liked the nurse getting Dean and Bobby to have some sense! Good for her!
Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I'm having a lot of hope for this new doc and Nurse Jo is just what the guys needed. Hugs, Vonnie

This was a lovely chapter, a nice calm one, i'm so glad that things are looking a little better.
Author's Response: Thanks, no heroics or nasty surprises, but things still are tense and if Sam doesn't get better even the nurse won't be able to help Dean and Bobby. Hugs, Vonnie

No need to worry about this chapter, it flows beautifully! With nurse Jo there definitely is some hope there now, at least she could get through to Dean and Bobby and make them see they need the rest to help Sam. Aww and Sam, now we know he still wants to come back - "He just wanted to go home, wherever home was. There was something deep within him, which told him, if he just could get there, someone would be waiting for him, someone who would always keep him safe. If only he could get there!", loved this so much! Now Dean has to find a way to reach Sam and acutally I do hope he also will be the one who donates his kidney, if Sam just knew he'd see how much his brother loves him.
Author's Response: Thanks for thinking it flows. Nurse Jo will continue to kick sense into the guys, if she needs to. As for Sam, he knows how much his brother loves him, he just thinks he will hurt Dean even more, if he sticks around. I have the feeling so, he will change his mind soon and Dean is going to play a big part in that. Hugs, Vonnie

Hi, Vonnie, First of all, ewwwwwwww....... will pass on doner fingers thanks - just send Dean to do all my typing for me - LOL. Dean's breakdown was so sad, I had tears in my eyes when he laid his head against Sam's leg and cried. And poor Bobby feeling helpless and blaming himself - I hope he doesn't do something foolish like try to find a crossroads..... I like Nurse Jo, and I loved the way she handled the brothers and Bobby, by talking to Sam as if he wasn't lying there in a coma hovering close to death, and striking a compromise with Dean and Bobby about getting some rest and food. Loved the 'deer in the headlights' look about Dean when she mentioned tightening his belt. Sam's walk through a never-ending twilight was wonderfully painted. It was sad, and a little scary, that he can't rest while in that nightmare realm, but there is a little hope there in that he's searching for home - Dean - and knows he will be safe once he finds that familiar face. I'm hoping that by Dean getting some rest and getting his mind back on track, that he will be able to reach Sam in that twilight place and draw him back. And the transplant thing sounds like another bit of hope, too. Waiting impatiently for the next update, pencil wedged firmly between my teeth ready to type - unless of course you manage to find Dean and send him over......*looks hopeful*..... Jules
Author's Response: Just talked to Dean, he told me he is a little busy right now kicking Sam's butt out of twilight place, but he promised to be over as soon as he can. Jo knows Dean would never be able to donate a kidney, if he is so run down, neither could Bobby, so she had to get through to them, without giving them hope for something that she doesn't know if it will work out yet. And Sammy is definitely fighting, he is just really confused and doesn't know what he needs to do. But there is definitely hope there, now that Dean found a little bit of his awesomeness again.

I'm between crying and smiling about this chapter - crying cause Sam seems to have found a way to leave Dean for sure, the coma so much more than just caused by his medical condition and it's now totally up to him if he wants to come back. It just hurts to see both brothers this desperate. But then on the other hand you gave us this wonderful Dean-Bobby scene and I can't tell how much I loved to see Dean comforting their dear friend who is so much a father for both boys. Very special! But you won't kill Sam, right? I really couldn't take it!
Author's Response: Never would I kill Sam, Dean or Bobby, I promise. On the other hand, I'm ecstatic to hear the scene between Bobby and Dean meant so much to you. It did to me too. Bobby had been the comforter all along and I felt he deserved some comfort himself. And I really wanted to show how important he has become to the boys and the whole story line. Thanks so much. Oh..........my............gosh................. *flails*........... Oh, gosh, those damned big-mouthed nurses!!!!! They should have known that sometimes patients are aware of what's going on, even if it looks like they aren't. Oh, that wasn't good, Sam hearing about his condition from the nurses then deciding to just give up. But that at least explains the stress that led to the sleepwalking - Sam wanting to spare Dean the pain of watching him die. Poor Bobby! I really felt for him trying to catch Sam only to miss and have the horror of seeing the younger Winchester hit the floor - hard. I bet he's going to blame himself for the coma. Oh, Sam - can things get any worse? Hang about - forget I said that....... How is Dean going to bring his brother back from the brink? They need a miracle....... Nails all gone - working on chewing knuckles now. Am currently typing with the aid of a pencil held between my teeth. COME BACK HERE AND FIX SAMMY!!!!!!!! *poke, poke, poke* Jules
Author's Response: Didn't know you were such a self mutilator. I hope your stills of typing with a pen between your teeth are up to par. I would hate to miss out on your stories, just because you can't type fast enough. But I can't say I feel guilty, just got ya back. Anyway, Sam is in a bad way and he needs all the help he can get. Dean and Bobby are holding each other up right now, but they are not doing well either. So we just have to see, if there is a miracle out there for Sammy. And you know, they do still happen. Hugs, Vonnie

Oh, so sad! Just when it looked like Sam was getting a slight improvement, the sleepwalking started up again. I'm betting the kid's done more damage to himself - oh, gosh, they're going to have to strap him down, aren't they? Oh, Sammy.....*sniffles*.... There is so much that needs to be said between them, so much guilt lying heavily in the room. And Sam in his confused state can't seem to push past the fact that he thinks it's all his fault and his brother doesn't really want him around any more. That, I feel, was the basis for that crazy statement he made to Dean. I think that was a ploy to get Dean to go on with his life and be happy without his burdensome little brother hanging around making things difficult for him - to Sam's way of thinking, anyway. I'm so glad Dean saw through it for what it was, and didn't try to leave again. Because I think that would have finished Sam off for good. He's so fragile right now, it's like he's balanced on a knife's edge. Thank heavens Bobby was there in the room when Sam tried to go walkabout - but I have a horrible feeling he didn't move fast enough to save Sam from more injuries. It's going to be a long wait till the next chapter.........a long, nail-biting wait..... Jules
Author's Response: It's just like in real life, just when you think everything is going to be alright, something else comes up. But like in real life there is a reason for everything and eventually things will get better. Sam was actually pretty much in his right mind when he sent Dean away. You are right though, he is trying to protect his big brother. And I promise, I will try to make the wait as easy as possible. Hugs, Vonnie

A much loved teacher of mine told me about her sleepwalking once and it totally aligns with what Sam was able to do, a lot of things are possible in this situation, so absolutely plausible! I'm much more concerned what triggered this newest episode and I'm afraid it was Sam's overwhelming feeling of guilt. This was a truly heartbreaking plea to his brother to leave him, there's so much fear to hurt and lose Dean, it's like Sam is consumed by it and it was more than painful to watch Dean's heartfelt but futile try to make Sam understand how sorry he is and how much he loves him. His words to Sam however proved he still (or again) can read his little brother and won't leave him - "Alright, I'm leaving, but just for now. I'm not giving up on you this easy." Hope these words will make the difference in the end, I believe the boys (with amazing Bobby on their side) can fight whatever medical problem Sam has but only if they find their way back to each other. Thank you for a deeply sad but wonderful chapter!
Author's Response: Thank you for your wonderful review. I know it's pretty sad how Sam is reacting right now and maybe a little 'Bobby cure', like smacking him around, would help. His emotions are just so messed up and Dean is so wonderful and just tries to be the big brother again. I'm just always happy to hear from you. Thanks for making my day again. Hugs, Vonnie

Oh no! No sleepwalking in the hospital!!! That's not good! I'm ready to smack Sam for saying what he did to Dean. I know he might think he has a good reason, but he's clearly on too many drugs. I'm glad Dean saw through it!

I'm finally all caught up with this story! I'm liking it so far, although who knew sleep walking could be so dangerous? You really make the medical stuff interesting to read, and very tense. Good job!
Author's Response: Thanks, I'm so happy to hear you like it and think the medical stuff is interesting. And yes, I never thought sleepwalking could be this dangerous, but hey, danger is the middle name of both Winchesters. Hugs, Vonnie

Maybe a bit short but some intense and moving chapter. As things are looking so desperate right now it means even more Dean won't leave Sam's side, "Dean continued to hold his brother's slack hand, squeezing it from time to time to relay his ongoing present to the younger man", I just hope Sam can somehow sense Dean's presence! With the threat that Sam's kidney can't be saved it is crucial now they fight this together ("There was nothing strong enough to beat one of them, not if they stood together." YES. Nothing to add here!) and it is a real blessing Bobby is at their side. There's a quote from Chardin that fits perfectly here I believe - "We are one after all, you and I, together we suffer, together exist, And forever will recreate each other." This is what I hope for, thanks for another grand chapter and a very Happy New Year to you!!!
Author's Response: Thanks and same to you. Especially for another awesome review, the last one for 2009. You always made me feel good. See you in 2010. Guten Rutsch! Hugs, Vonnie
