Awww, that was a lovely chapter, and of cause Bobby's family, looking forward to more.
Author's Response: Thanks. I guess this story is a little bit of a nod to Bobby. Just love the guy. Hugs, Vonnie

Aww, Sammy - he takes on so much guilt. But I'm glad that Bobby realised, even if it only started as reassuring Dean, that Sam was just caught in the whirlwind of emotions and wasn't ungrateful at all. And I'm glad they could reassure him - and that he could stay awake long enough to hear it - that he wasn't cursed and that they had no intention of leaving him. I'm hoping though, that there's not going to be any rejection or anything, because poor Sammy really needs a break after everything he's been through. Sweet moment when Dean acknowledged Bobby as family, because he really is. Jules oh, and I'm the first to review - there are bonuses to being on the other side of the world.
Author's Response: Hey thanks and here is a virtual cookie and hug for being the first reviewer. I am planning to put the boys and especially Sam back together now, it's about time. There won't be any major setbacks at this time. Hugs, Vonnie

LOL! I had this sudden image in my head of three side by side hospital beds, and it just made me smile. I loved how both boys were just so confused about everything.
Author's Response: Thanks, waking up can be confusing and facing all they have is even more so. Hugs, Vonnie

Real life has cause me to get behind on my reading of fanfiction! Good updates Vonnie. I hope that Sam is on the road to recovery.
Author's Response: He sure is. Thanks for your support. I sure know how real life goes. Hugs, Vonnie

Aww, they are all awake and together, doing better, how good this feels! Don't think at all Dean was out of character, actually I believe this is the real Dean we see here, most important for him Sam is safe and I know he's deeply grateful Bobby gave his kidney and made sure Sam will survive. It might still need a little convincing from Sam and Bobby though to help Dean deal with his feelings about this, that he couldn't do it himself for Sam (but this is just my guess). Loved the whole chapter and especially the moment when Dean went back to sleep facing his little bro so Sam was the first he would see when he woke up, always the big brother, the protector!
Author's Response: Thanks, great that you agree with Mizpah and obviously me. Dean will always put Sam first, at least in my book, don't know about Kripke. Anyway, there is going to be a lot of talking and taking care of everyone going on. Hugs, Vonnie

I'd like to say thank heavens Sam is finally all right, but I'm too worried there's going to be another disaster since his blood pressure and stuff isn't up to the level that they expect. So I think I'll just be a bit cautious in my relief. And no, don't think Dean was out of character. Jules
Author's Response: Thanks, it's great that you don't think Dean is out of character. I was worried about what people might think. I felt like he would react like this. And I promise you no more disasters. Only resolution and maybe some psychological drama and fallout. Hugs, Vonnie

That's truly a wonderful gift Bobby is making his boys, I know it means a lot to him and I just loved his explanation - "I'm and old man, who enjoys being part of their lives, that's more than enough to take a risk." So simple and so true! I'm a bit worried though Dean will take it pretty hard, he so desperately wanted and needed to be the one "to give his younger brother life" to show Sam how much he is loved and how sorry Dean is for what happened. I count on Sam (he will get better, right?) to make him understand what they have is unconditional and needs no proof! Grand chapter!
Author's Response: Aw thanks. Bobby had to be the one, because that makes him even more part of the family. And it was Ziggy's request/suggestion. They are all going to be alright. It's time to resolve some issues now. Hugs, Vonnie

I suspected Bobby would step up and be the kidney donor after Dean was hurt. I'm glad. It was a good move! Good chapter!
Author's Response: Yeah, you were right. He just had to step in.Thanks for commenting. Hugs, Vonnie

Oh no! Can anything ever go right for these poor boys? Nice twist there, Vonnie! Good thing Bobby's a match for Sam too.
Author's Response: Yeah well, Winchester Luck you know...But your right, good thing Bobby is a match. Thanks for reading and reviewing. Hugs, Vonnie

No, this just can't happen, I didn't expect this twist - and what a tragic one - at all; if nurse Jo was given permission to sedate Sam I'm afraid Dean's injuries must be pretty severe. How scared will Sam be when he wakes up and finds out! Will Dean in his state even be able to donate his kidney, I honestly doubt it, but there is Bobby, he is a match too and he didn't eat. Still this will weigh so hard on both brothers and I just wished for once they would have been spared this new heartache. Loved the new wee!stories Bobby was telling and actually hope you will expand some of them later. More very soon I hope, cause honestly you can't leave it here!
Author's Response: Yep, I have a twisted mind but talk to Sarah about it, it's her fault this happened. She actually thinks it's funny its her fault. Anyway, there are going to be some complications and but I promise things are going to be alright in the end. Hugs, Vonnie

Aw, the scene with Sam waking up was just too sweet. I love Dean saying maybe Sam would get some of his awesomeness with the kidney. That is just too Dean. :) Hugs, Sonya
Author's Response: Thanks, I'm glad you liked that little scene. And I just had to let some of Dean's real nature come through. Give the whole thing a lighter though after all the fluff. Hugs, Vonnie

What can I say - I completely loved this chapter and now have another favorite homecoming scene and again I have to quote, "Sam continued to lie in his brother's embrace...His chin resting on Dean's shoulder, he allowed his own tears to flow unchecked, feeling incredibly weak and tired, like he walked for days without end, yet it didn't matter, because more than anything he felt safe, peaceful, loved." One perfect shining little moment that shows how it feels to truly find the place where you belong!
Author's Response: Aw thanks, you just seem to think so much like I do. I just wanted to get this one perfect, because I needed to have Sam find peace after his awful journey through the coma. Thanks again. Hugs, Vonnie

What a fantastic chapter! Great emotions here and very touching moments. A wonderful picture of how Sam and Dean so silently and completely found a way to get into Bobby's heart ("Who would have ever thought that he, the old hunter, would be topple by some kids. Well, okay young men by now, but still." And then more of Bobby's wonderful Sam and Dean wee!stories, couldn't tell which one I loved the most - Sam's "first word was De" and certainly the image of little Sammy following his brother, always right behind him, holding on to his shirt are favourites! Not only nurse Jo has "the privilege of being witness to something very rare and precious." We certainly have too by reading this story about the brothers bond! Now, and this makes me grinning like a mad person, Sam is waking up, Dean finally found a way to get through to him with those heartbreaking words and this long and painful journey is about to end for them (oh, and I know this is too long already but I have to tell you what Sam's walk reminded me of, it's a movie, "Rabbit-Proof Fence", the journey of three mixed race Aboriginal girls back home to their Aboriginal families along this fence that was like Dean for Sam their guide; this is how it feels here, amazing). You so made my day, thank you!!
Author's Response: Wow, thanks. Sometimes I'm amazed that my little writing can get you and others so emotional. I'm always overwhelmed, when I hear that. That movie sounds great. I'm certainly happy that you like the little stories. I just can picture the boys being like this, when they were little. Hugs, Vonnie

Hope that means that Sam's waking up - or getting close. And now that they've found two matches, will the doc do the surgery and make Sammy all better? Hoping for a light at the end of the tunnel here - it's been a rough few days - I need my happy ending. Jules
Author's Response: I could say I will write a happy ending just for you, but that would be a lie, because i haven't written a story yet without one. Still, I promise it will get better. Hope you are doing alright. I thought you were a little quiet this weekend. I'll say a prayer for you. Hugs, Vonnie

My oldest kept rolling a ball to the baby expecting her to catch it. She was SO disappointed! Hee! I'm surprised Bobby's kidneys would be in such good shape considering the drinking he's done. Maybe it's his liver that's not so good.... :)
Author's Response: Thanks, yeah older sibs can be surprising at times and sooo cute. You might be surprised, but not all people, who neglected their health are actually in bad shape. I've seen some smokers, whose lungs were still in good shape at 80. Those are the exceptions, but they do happen. And yeah, it would be his liver. Hugs, Vonnie
