Gee, I know how narrow camper type van doors can be, but they got him in there, now to just find a vet...can't imagine what a vet is going to say!

Jacq

Author's Response:

Yeah, they're small and I probably took a little poetic license to make it even wider than it actually was.  The joys of being the "writer" I can make adjustments as I see fit (necessary).

I enjoyed the vet, I hope you do too.

Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Geez, Ben certainly has inherited the Winchester luck!

Funny reaction to Sam and Dean's count.  Only those two would be in sync when off count.

I'm curious to see how they manage to help Ben---vet, doctor, or Bobby?

Author's Response:

The baddies do seem to line up to hurt him, don't they?

I thought the off count was funny and a not so obvious shout out to the show.

Vet, doctor or Bobby...hmm.

Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Another update - yipee!

Poor poor Ben, badly injured and facing the prospect of  being treated by a vet, then he has to walk/limp on his broken leg only to end up on a bed that smells of cat pee - how cruel can you get?

In the previous chapter I couldn't help but laugh when Dean had to be quiet 'cos talking was hurtiing Ben. Your twisted logic of the 'bigfoot' bringing Ben full circle back to the Impala and leaving him there had me completely fooled. So not what I was expecting. I was sure Ben was in for more trouble and pain at the hands of Bigfoot whether it intended to hurt him or not.

Thank you so much for posting rapidly.

Author's Response:

I am very happy to post rapidly, makes me happy.

I'm from the Pacific Northwest and we have a particular love for our Bogfoot mythology so when my daughter requested a Bigfoot story, I just couldn't make them evil.  Plus, its been said in the show that Bigfoot doesn't exist so I had to work that out.

As for how cruel I can be?  You've read my stories right?  Kidding, this wasy probably the cruelest I've been, I hate the smell of cat pee.

Thanks for reading and leaving a review!

Good, didnt think a Bigfoot was dangerous, at least they're not going to hunt it/them. A Vet lol...that should be interesting.

Look forward to the next chapter

Jacq

Author's Response:

I love bigfoot, there is no way I could make him a bad guy.

Hope you enjoy the next chapter as well,

Kim

Oh my freakin' gosh!  Dean flew?!  Actually flew like an angel?!  Incredible!

Interesting that the two Bigfoot (Bigfeet?) took Ben back to where he could be helped.  Not only does that show intelligence but compassion.  Now I'm intrigued!

Ha!  Taking Ben to a vet is both funny and smart.  How do you think of such things?

Another fabulous chapter!  As usual, you've managed to take a twist I hadn't expected and make me more eager than ever for the next chapter.  Soon, please!

Author's Response:

Sorry!  I wasn't clear...Dean didn't fly, Sam pulled him back using his powers.  Dean is 100% human, born a human, staying a human until the day he dies - at which time he will be angelic again.

Heh, I'm laughing about Bigfoot - Bigfeet and you'll know why later.  Intelligence, compassion...I'm from Oregon and we like our Bigfoot, Bigfeet there, very protective of them.  My daughter asked for a Bigfoot story and there was no way I could make him a bad guy.

I thought of the vet when I started doing research on wing injuries which are almost 100% fatal to birds.  I realized that there was no way the guys could treat Ben without a little help.  And an outsiders point of view on his wings...fun to write.

Thanks for reading and I love the review!

Jess

(p.s im working on that do not disturb, I think and hope you'll like it)

Author's Response:

I thought the vet idea was pretty funny although Ben wasn't as impressed.

I'm looking forward to your story.

Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Two of them?!!  Fantastic! You had me holding my breath.  I was torn between wanting Ben to call for his dad and keeping quiet.

Ben's realization of time and age was awesome!  The comparison you used to the red woodsmade me stop to ponder.  For Ben it must have been incomprehensible.

Author's Response:

I love the Redwoods.  They are so vast and so old and I wish that trees could talk every time I see them.  The stories they could tell but you're right, Ben would have an impossible time truly understanding how long he's set to live for or how long his father has already lived.

Thanks for reading and reviewing.

An interesting segueway into Sam and Dean's argument!

It was sad to hear Bobby's semi-retired now.  I can understand both Dean and Ben's points of view.  Having lived a 'normal' life I can attest to Sam that it's over-rated.  Especially since Ben seems to love hunting and that way of life like Dean did.

I'm eager to find out what Ben was doing in that house so I'm off to the next chapter.

Author's Response:

Dean and Sam both want what's best for Ben, you can't fault them there, I just don't know that they remember to keep Ben's feelings about the situation in mind.

Ben and that house...hmmm, what was he up to?

Thanks for reading and reviewing.

OMG. What a chapter! What an ending! I'm struggling to write coherant comments and the week's wait for the next update will seem very long.

I don't know if it's my imagination but somehow the 'bigfoot' almost seems protective of Ben. I wonder why?

Author's Response:

Thank you so much.  I'm glad you liked it.

I'm going to give you an answer to your comment because I'm doubtful that you'll ever get a specific answer to it in anything I write about Ben.  Because of Ben's angelic nature he is very "attractive" to things.  You'll remember that the deer didn't fear him either.  Animals recognize that he's part of what they are.  People are attracted to him...sometimes not in a good way, as you've probably noticed throughout the stories...its his angelic nature that draws people and creatures to him, something that he can't help nor is he even aware of it.  Its just one of those underlying things that will always exist within the story without ever being fully (that I know of at this point) addressed or recognized.

Thanks for reading and reviewing, I really appreciate it.

Oh no...didn't expect that to happen!  And just as Dean relented to him being on his own as well, oh dear.  Good chapter, looking forward to the next one.

Jacq

Author's Response:

I think you'll find an ongoing theme regarding Dean relenting to Ben.  Of course, its a child's job in life to test his boundaries, isn't it?

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing.

Glad to see Ben and Co. back.  Yes I would like to know what Ben was up to.  And what is Sam needing to research in Bobby's library?

Good chapter, look forward to the next

Jacq

Author's Response:

I'm happy that you're happy they're back.  Hmm, what is Sam up to?  Its never a good thing when he gets too much into his own head, is it?

Thanks for the review and for reading.

Absolutely brilliant to see another Ben Braeden story starting. (I was only wondering when there'd be another one this morning, and low and behold you've post the first chapter.)

Dean's sudden change from arguing with Sam to stay on the road and arguing with Ben to have a home base at Bobby's struck me as odd until he explained that he knew Ben was up to something else besides research. But boy didn't Dean sound like John at that moment. Interested me that Dean never mentioned about Ben going to regular school. Not sure why but something that ommission feels significant.

Certainly looking forward to more.

Author's Response:

I'm happy that I managed to get this out to you when you were thinking about it, I love it when that happens to me with stories that I like.

I'm pretty sure that Ben knew regular school was on the table since it was mentioned that he'd be busy with activities and such it was also said that he'd be staying with Bobby while Dean and Sam hunted when he was too busy with school.

As for Dean being like John, I think Dean knows the potential is there and tries very hard not to fall into it, don't we all with our own children?

Thanks for reading and leaving a review!
