I've been following your story as you post and I validate and I apologize its taken me a bit to get around to leaving a review. I'm loving the way you're capturing the brother's here... picking up so nicely after Death Takes a Holiday. Dean's nightmare in the last chapter was potent... tangible and visceral. There are times that I'm simulataneously sad and glad that we didnt see more of what happened to him down there. I also love how well you've captured Ruby.. You've kept her still feigning assistance- all the while she keeps sowing the seeds of doubt with Sam. And now Ilyas... yikes- I must assume he's one of Alastairs 'Fair haired boys"? Sounds like he's the culprit in McMinville... but YAY- Bobby's coming- that has to be good- right? Well done- I look forward to more.

This just gets better and better. Poor Dean, trying to help and put down by his brother, and don't get me started on Ruby! lol Iylas makes me think of a snake for some reason, maybe it was the hiss at the start and he's hurt Dean. Bad man! Looking forward to more. Mary x

Thank you guys for taking the time to read this story. There were a couple things I wanted more of in the very crowded S4. One was a hunt really triggering hell memories for Dean, and two, how Ruby's influence worked on Sam. Because - for the purposes of the jaw-dropping finale - much of Ruby and Sam's interactions were kept hidden, we didn't get to see how she worked on Sam to get him to finally choose loyalty to her over his own brother. So I decided to write about it! Again, thank you for reading!

This chapter is great! So Dean recognises the hallmarks of some torture from Hell in the body, interesting to see where that goes! I love the last little exchange, I can see the guys sitting on the motel beds talking like that and I can hear their voices in my head, you write them really, really well!
