Hey Still loving it, the plot is gripping and the pace is just the right speed to follow and still take everything in. So Ilyas has slipped his skin, that'll make Dean's job harder! Liked the little bit with Sam not going at his brother for going off on his own and Dean instantly knowing that there would be a catch! So could see that happening. Can't wait for more, Mary xx

Interesting story and well written. Can't wait to get to chapter nine. Just one itty bitty thing though - since Bobby and Boatright ate at the restaurant attached to the motel, it's kind of odd that Bobby wouldn't give Sam the bags of food before venturing on to Boatright's mansion. Cheeseburgers and clubs taste much better fresh than three hous later - and nuked bread...just gross! Trivial - I know - anyway, keep up the great work!

Dean's witty banter while he fights was hilarious and classic Dean Winchester! It's good to see he got his cockiness back. Leave it to him to walk right into the demon's lair without even knowing it! A very good surprise! Youhad all of us looking at the sorcerers but it was the wife of the most powerful sorcerer who was possessed. And she was no slouch---an apothecary. That's gotta carry some weight! I can't wait to find out where the last murder took place! Was it supposed to be the apothecary all along? Please post again soon!

His mouth had that sticky feeling one gets when you go to bed without brushing your teeth. Ewww! Been there---done that. I think everyone can relate to this experience and walk a step or two in Dean's size elevens. Ilyas' constant use of the phrase "sweet boy" was a little amusing at first with undercurrents of strange. The more he uses it the less amusing it becomes and now it's just down right errie and creepy. My skin crawls everytime he says it.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for all your wonderful comments and insight. And thanks for realizing there was more to Ilyas' comments than his being sardonic. They are meant to demean, to make the recipient feel powerless and degraded. So eerie and creepy are just the right response! And when I wrote Ruby saying, "That's my boy," I went ballistic too! lol But the phrase shows how infiltrated she became in Sam's life. She had to have established that kind of closeness and credibility with Sam. Otherwise why else could he have turned his back on Dean to side with her? Damn the bitca!

Oh no she didn't! "That's my boy" is Dean's phrase not Ruby's. How dare she? As soon as she said that I went ballistic. Just a hint of the power in Sam being more than he could handle, having a will of its own to be unleashed. In that one simple paragraph you changed the paradigm. Then at the end another passage of the strength that the force of Sam's darkside has is once again manifested. Very clever!

OMG! Filling in the moment when Dean gave in to Alistair's torture was tragic and amazing! I never thought that Dean would forget Sam but hadn't thought of what it would be like to not feel anything for him. In Dean's mind, Sam gave him purpose, definition. Without that he would have nothing on which to focus his strength or resolve. Beautifully written! Yeah! Love Dean's sudden determination to stop being afraid and fight Ilyas! Nothing can stop a determined Winchester! The previous chapters where you mentioned Dean's aptitude for research not coming from passion but being no less efficient than Sam's comes into play now. Fabulous way of paving the way for this chapter!
