Pretty cool, I could hear a black woman's voice in the words, even if that wasn't the intent for the big black girl.

Great idea! love it! You give the car such attitude. I love the paragraph about soaking up their sweat, blood and tears. Cool!
Author's Response: Heh, thanks for reading! Playing wtih the Impala's attitude, or what I'd imagine it to be, was lots of fun. And yeah, I couldn't help but think how much she's cradled them wounded and hurting and broken. I'm glad you enjoyed! Thanks for stopping by. Cheers ~

"He gave his boy to me" - ok, that was the best part. loved this one, and i agree wholeheartedly: everybody has to do a metallicar ff. ive yet to start mine....

not much to be said here........awesome!! our Black Beauty's POV .......a most important character indeed....if a vehicle truly had memories, a heart and a soul...YOU just captured it!! thanks
Author's Response: Wow, what a wonderful review! This was certainly a treat to find over coffee this morning. :-) I'm so very glad you enjoyed my take on the Impala - if she could speak. LOL, I confess to having a terrible fondness for classic cars, and when I had my old '72 Ford F-100 pickup, I rather anthropomorphised her, too. *G* Thank you so much! I'm delighted you enjoyed my story. Cheers ~ Erin

This was excellent! Very fun. And I love the "voice" you've given to the Impala.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I had a great time creating the "voice" for the Impala, and once she started "talking" it just sort of flowed. I'd never done something like this before, so it was loads of fun, and I'm delighted it worked for you! :-) Thanks for reading. Cheers ~

Loved hearing black beauty's view of the boys. Always knew she had a soul too. Liked the rhythm of the words -- sounded like a song to me. Great job!
Author's Response: Thank you *so* much! When I started writing this piece, I really did feel an odd sort of rhythm set into the words, as if the Metallicar had her own sort of accent, her own cadence of speaking, so I'm tickled all to pieces that this came through for you, too! :-) Thank you for reading and commenting. Cheers ~ Erin
