I like this chapter. After the intensity of the previous - lots of action and emotional highs - your meander, Sam's meander placed us well to understand, to feel, the drag of time and the out of control feeling of helplessness.

Plus, Dean's snark is always a bit of a treat!!!

Dean’s grin grew wider and he held up his middle finger in Sam’s direction, “This many.” Yep, had that little visual in my head. And Sammy’s priceless reaction expressed in your clever words:”…silently begging for strength and loudly begging for Dean to just shut up and stop acting like an immature jerk.”And then you got serious and I remembered who our boys are dealing with here. Your scenes of Sam sharing a sunrise with his dad, both of them silent, admiring, in sync was awesome. And then to follow  through with memories of sunrises shared with Jess and Maddie as well were bitter sweet. And to top it all off, Dean knew about these shared experiences and respected his family enough to leave them as special shared privacy was poignant - outstanding writing. And THEN how wicked but clever of you that YED will deliberately misunderstand Dean's jealousy and use it against them i- its also sacreligious.

Author's Response: I'm just so evil that I really enjoyed writing the whole sunrise and trips down memory lane, making it painful for both brothers. Especially when there's so many moments they could have shared with loved ones. Awww... So to throw in some YED making plans as well was good :D Thanks so much!

"Sam as Dean's conscience, Dean as the defuser of tense situations" beautifully stated. I love it that your YED has to be impatient with Dean because that's all he has - he can't manipulate him, control him, understand him. All he can do is play him through Sam. Love how your building the suspense and intrigue.

Dean might have been able to breathe but I was struggling. Straight into the action and adrenalin, you sure know how to get a reader's attention! Poor Sam, having to witness that after his experiences. YED sure is a sick puppy. And then to drop drop suffering Dean from the ceiling to the floor! Epic intro - I'm in! Heading for the "next" button right now...

I didn't like Becky anyway.  Glad she's evil.  Now Sam just needs to save Dean, talk him out of sacrificing himself for a stranger.  He needs to play the 'little brother' card.

Oooh, great chapter! At first I felt kinda sorry for this Becky chick...now however, not so much! There's no way Sam is going to allow them to switch places...he knew she was a fraud right from the start! Looking forward to more!
