I really like the comparison of how the car and Dean were both rebuilt to be stronger and more reliant. Thanks for the great story! I really loved it!!!
Author's Response: The rebuilding comparison is actually the reason for the title of the story and the content of the story. Since Dean and the Impala are often associated together, I thought it would be good to show both of them being rebuilt together. I'm really glad that you loved the story. I do believe Bobby is right about Dean's frame of mind and health. Dean is ready to take on the world and it is John and Sam that are missing out by cutting Dean out of their lives. I'm not sure I do like Dean hunting on his own though, that could be quite dangerous, but at least his mind is where it should be and hopefully he'll focus on the hunts and not his missing family.

I'm glad that Dean has decided he can be on his own and he needs to look forward to the future, and that it is his family that is missing out by ignoring him. I still find that I'm quite irritate with both Sam and John for not getting in contact with him. I'm not sure why John would do what he did to Dean and hopefully, he will decide that Dean deserves to have family watch his back. I'm looking forward to the next chapter!

I'm really happy that you loved the epilogue. I wasn't sure whether or not I should include it. However, us fans are always saying how important the Impala is to the show. So, I felt that the car's POV had to be mentioned.

Imagined that Impala got overhaul from the TV shows, Overhaulin'. From chip foose, that man is genius. Not that the Impala is not mean machine she is now but a few touch up could make her more meaner and sleek machine. :D Dean need someone to cheer him up badly. :p

Hmmmm....wonder what Bobby's decision is? Perhaps Dean needs a hunt and with a partner like Bobby? I love how Bobby wants to give Dean the space he may need, but at the same time is there when he might be needed. I still want to slap John upside the head! Looking forward to the next chapter!

Like the way you narrate the first chapter through Bobby POV. Why he choose to have a solitude life, then change when the boys enter his life. He certainly love the boys.

This chapter just about broke my heart. Reading that Dean does feel the desolation of abandonment was heartbreaking. I just want to smack John upside the head, and say "What were you thinking, you idjit?!). I love how Bobby is giving Dean the space he needs to sort things out, and hopefully, will be there when Dean needs him. The fallout of being left behind by the two people he loved best could be tragic. I'm really looking forward to the next chapter.
Author's Response: Sorry, I guess I should have included a tissue warning with this story. ;-) In several episodes, they've alluded to how Dean feels and how he wishes that things were different. this is a great story...very sad for Dean, though I am glad he at least has Bobby...with these types of stories you always wish in the back of your head that there will be some sort of happy ending but of course there will never be one...good job

I'm hoping Dean finds some peace, and a feeling of belonging when he gets to Bobby's house. Dean may think he is ok with being alone but he's not. He needs family. I feel badly that both John and Sam have abandoned Dean. Hopefully, Bobby will be there for him. He's family.
