Oh my, I'm not quite sure what to say. I've read this in response to you being named Author of the Month - congratulations on that acolade.

This is a very emotional story that seems full of detailed description. Occasionally I lost track of which view point I was reading but that didn't detract from my enjoyment in the least. The picture you painted at the very beginning of a completely shattered Dean had me hooked from the first word to the very last. Well done.

Author's Response:

Well, thanks! I'm glad you liked the story, though sorry it got confusing. Dangit...

I really liked this!  I liked the myster of not knowing which brother was which at first.  I did have to do some mental juggling to change the images in my head when we found out, but it worked very well.  While I think Sam was telling the truth about the dream the Djinn was going to give him, I do wonder if maybe there was more to the story he wasn't telling Dean.  I wonder what Sam would have wished.

Author's Response:

I wonder too! I couldn't make my mind up between Jess or Dean, which is why it stayed so vague... Glad you enjoyed it hun!

WOW! Very powerful read... You had me guessing through a good portion who was under the Djinn's influence, and who was remembering...  Nicely done... I'm not easily fooled...

I dont know Mark Lanegan... but I'm thinking I need to check him out...

Author's Response:

Yay! My evil plan worked! mwhahaha...

I wanted it to be fairly vague - when I started writing I didn't even know what the monster was going to be, then that moment when he looks up and sees it reaching out for Sam just had the flaming hand deal going on in my head and that was it. Sorted.

:)

Lanegan is amazing - and he seems to be turning up a lot in my writing at the moment! His lyrics are scary/sad/provoking and downright odd sometimes, and they're set to music that's just as varied. He used to front for the Screaming Trees and Queens of the Stone Age, but a lot of his solo stuff is a bit quieter. Not all, but a lot!

Glad you enjoyed the tale!
