Terrific two shots Mags, I loved it. At the same time funny, because these four together... and also a bit sad that they don't have more moments like that. Thanks for the great read!

Hey there! Well, this is a nicely refreshing story. Who doesn't have camping memories... And these four make it especially funny!

this was a beautiful story!  so nice to see the Harrisons and Winchesters taking time out from hunting to enjoy the other family's compnay.

Interesting to find out about John's family and how they'd become estranged.

"but it looked more like their boat was trying to stagger home drunk."  Hilarious line!

How sweet that John keeps thinking of Mary and Elizabeth on this trip into "normal."

Ahhh, so the photos.  Now we know where some of them came from.

Great chapter!  I love the different aspects of the Winchesters that you bring out in your writing.  We get to see the little bit of normal,(hunter- style) that they get to enjoy.  And the shifting dynamic between the kids is so realistic.  Marvelous!

"Complacency was death."  Very powerful statement and so true in their lives.

So the silly putty was actually caulk.  I didn't figure that out in the story.  (Sometimes I'm kinda slow)  Now I understand why the door was sealed so well.  I just thought that was some strong silly putty.  Was that a personal experience?

Author's Response:

thank you for the great reviews.  the caulk wasnt exactly a personal experience. but as a kid i got locked in a bathroom with a friend when his brother decided to flush the key. though my younger brother did try to use a caulk gun like a water gun once.

a lot of the kids 'normal' life in Valley actually comes from me having grown up in a very small town with a lot of brothers and sisters.  we camped a lot and even as adults we still manage to dump each other out of the canoes on occasion. lol.

You those kids down to a T.... Poor Tom & John.... I love how the camping trip went from a choice to an order.  Or as Dean said "a punishment".  Poor Tom typical dad all excited about camping but no one to share it with.... I'm camping next week... 1st time ever for a week... no electiricity or wifi.... but the airmattress will come along... look forward to reading your next update and returning to your stories.

Author's Response: thank you so much for the great review. i'm actually camping at my brother and sister-in-law's cabin next month. i grew up camping with my brothers and sisters, they're some of my favorite memories. :)
