I feel sorry for Dean. Even though Dean shouted at Sam, Sam knows he loves him. I don't like that Steve guy. He obviously doesn't think he can pick on people his own size so he picks on little kids. Coward.

Amazing opening chapter. I certainly feel Dean's despair and hunger. I am left hoping that the girl in the convenience store comes to their aid in some way and that John returns home asap.

I really liked this... its almost heart-breakingly sad... but its sooo in-character.
Part of me thinks John loved those boys so much he would have never left them (intentionally) without food or money for long periords... yet I also consider that he could have gotten hurt and been delayed... and something like this could have happened.
Cant wait to read more!
