What a stunning piece of work. I absolutely LOVED it. The way you built the boys connection through snapshots of their life, their work - from the mundane to that huge S1 finale. Your peek from Sam's POV was true to both characters - what felt like friction in the beginning was really their connection. The OJ and t-shirt - sounding like bickering but in reality each watching out for the other, truly understanding, was outstanding. And these words "Dean's gasp is pure relief. Sam...He absolves the blame; takes the burden of Sam's choice with that one word" was awesome - both in style and in cementing our understanding of everything Winchester. I was having trouble breathing all the way through your story, but I actually caught my breath here.
I don't know why I haven't found you before this, but I'm now off to read your series of one-shots coz I'm hooked. Thanks for the ride.

I hope you can read this review because I can barely see to type it. It's hard to see font this small through tears like this. It's hard to see at all through tears like this.
Thru Terrys Eyes recommended that I check out these one-shots and I have to tell her thank you because the were fantastic. Moving, real, fundamental... you made the boys seem like people you encounter every day -- not characters on a TV show.
There was nothing unreal about any of the illustrated fundamental truths you showed us through Sam's eyes. Even the hunt of the jinjin felt like something people just do every day.
And the recount of the end of Devil's Trap... the way it played through Sam's eyes in this story was so moving and heartbreaking and... I have goosebumps just thinking about it.

Great work... even when the boys are verbally sparring their concern for each other is so obvious - Dean with the fresh juice and Sam caring about the t-shirt! Loved it, well done.
