Sorry for not reviewing in general. It's sort of difficult for me as I don't speak a very good english. But I must say I've read all your stories and I keep waiting for your updates. Maybe you should try posting at fanfiction.net too, I don't know the reason but reviews there are always much higher and your discouragement is understandable. Thanks for your stories.

I wasn't sure if the readers are enjoying Brass Monkeys, because the reviews are only dribbling in, 3 or 4 for each chapter. It's a bit disheartening when you spend so much time putting a chapter together and the response is minimal but the read counts are high. Then on the main page I read that I'm not the only one who is thinking that, so it's not just my story.

Breathtaking does not nearly cover it, what a chapter, from their encounter with Hiromi (who totally gives me the creeps) and what they found out at the library things got more eerie by the minute. With Dean now trapped in his car and already so badly injured - there was so much blood - things couldn't be more desperate, so hope it was Sam he heard and he must come to Dean's rescue in time, this just can't happen, not now when they are finally back together. AAAH, you have to update soon, I need to know!! Marvellous chapter!!! (The calendar is fantastic, sadly not available for Germany.)

Stephen King's quote was a great opener for this chapter, as scary as it is I believe it's true what he says and Sam and Dean will have to deal with the effects of those powers in the most savage way I'm afraid. Loved that you had Sam's POV of the time when Dean was missing and he so desperately searched for him and now you totally get the sense how wonderful it feels for both brothers to be together again (very sweet scene when Sam wanted Dean to come with him to the library for research, "he didn't want to let Dean out of his sight for now; he was afraid he might find some reason to take off again"). Sam's encounter with the Japanese girl (who is Hiromi Kawana, right?) was scary, she seems to be involved in those murders and definitely not in a good way. Very glad Dean made the connection about her appearing on both murder scenes and just wished Sam would tell him what he felt when she looked at him ("Sam turned away but he could feel the uncomfortable prickle of her dark eyes between his shoulder blades..."), but I guess he won't. Really fear for both brothers now. At least they have a lead now, the stolen buddha figure and Pauline's missing earrings, happening just before their violent deaths. You're creating a frightening and mysterious atmosphere here and write this in a grand way. Really wow!!!

More than glad to see the brothers back together and it is essential in every sense, cause I think Dean's feeling of unease when Hiromi entered the scene was more than right, something about her is very eerie, great atmosphere! Sam - even if he showed up in person only at the end - was there the whole time and this gave us a wonderful touching impression how much Dean needs and misses his brother, Dean so afraid Sam left him that he doesn't check his voicemail, "a feeling of deep loneliness and sadness gripped him. Should I turn on my cell and see if Sam had tried to ring? He fingered the phone in his pocket. No, not worth the risk...So Dean never heard the 19 voicemail messages Sam had left for him, each one more frantic than the last. And by the next day there would be 31 unread messages." That tells so much. Loved it, excellent!

What a sad and unbelievable intense chapter! Dean's reaction, especially considering Sam chose his brother over Ruby, was heartbreaking! So doing the right thing backfired for Sam in the most brutal way, Dean left him. Can't even imagine how terrible this must feel for both brothers, but one thing I do know, Sam has to find Dean, as fragile and vulnerable he is, he can't go on alone. Great descriptions, you really get the sense how awful this situation must be!

Angsty chapter indeed. Dean leaved Sam behind thinking that Sam only want it's hunting with Ruby when Sam said no to Ruby to stay with Dean, so a big misunderstanding from Dean part. Great work Silvertayl, can't wait to know what'll happen next.

What a fantastic start and be sure I will join you on this journey, it's going to be an amazing one I know! Touching description of Dean's and Sam's feelings after the tragic events in On The Head Of A Pin and how wonderful Bobby is at their side to help. Intriguing idea their hunt is about The Three Wise Monkey's (remember my grandparents had those as a clay figure), used as murderous weapons in this case; can't wait to see what happens when the brass monkeys and what they signify collide with our boys! Wow!
