Another awesome chapter, this story is rolling along nicely. Loved how Dean's previously favorite bacon double cheeseburger now 'tasted far too keenly of seared flesh and ash'- poor baby. And then he hallucinates or dreams (not sure which) that Dad is on his case, too.  Sam knows something's wrong, I'm wondering how long it's gonna take before he does something about it, other than look the other way and let Dean keep his pride intact.

Eagerly waiting for more! Ah, and this is kind of an odd request from me, but you're delving heavily into Dean's mindset, are we going to get the same glimpse of Sam's  thoughts at some point?

Sue

Author's Response:

I'd guess you'd say hallucination--it's one of the symptoms of sleep deprivation--seeing and talking to people who aren't there.

I'm trying to work in a bit of Sam's thoughts too.  Perhaps not as deeply (not sure yet on this point).

Good to hear you're still enjoying.

Author's Response: Thank you, Maureen.  I'm so happy to hear you're hooked.  More to come soon, I promise.

Good portrayal of atmosphere here, the tension between the brothers is papable. Do you use mapquest for figuring distances out between cities? I do, and then I chop an hour or so off, taking into account the DWDF (Dean Winchester Driving Factor).

Author's Response: Thanks, Sue, for the kind review.  Yep, I do use MapQuest to try and map out distances, at least close approximations.  I didn't, however, think to take into account the DWDF.  Darn it.  hehe

Author's Response: Oh, Bev, I can't tell you how much I love the fact that you say this oozes all of those things.  Truly, that is exactly what I was hoping for.  Thank you so much for the review.

Hi Ness,

Nice start, Dean can't sleep necause Sam's words keep pinging around his brain. Yes, they definitely need to talk, but that's not gonna happen anytime soon. Nice setting with the diner breakfast scene, and Sam dug up 3 hunts! I wonder which one he's gonna choose.... my money's on the haunted bar, bec he thinks it's the one that would appeal most to Dean. Just a guess, can't wait to read the next chapter and see if I'm right!

Sue

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Sue.  I'm really glad you enjoyed the first chapter, and I hope you enjoy the coming ones equally well.

Uh oh!  Trouble's a-brewin' with the boys!

You know, Sam's lucky on the show that Dean lets things go as often as he does.  Because he's a had a few "I only said it 'cos I was possessed/enraged by a spirit/under a siren's spell" incidents by now and it's the same recurring theme with him.  The "Boo hoo" thing was just SO below the belt.  And when you consider that Dean didn't say anything mean while he was under the influence of the spell... He was just being completely honest.

Author's Response:

I agree that Sam has indeed had a number of those moments.  Yet, like Dean, I still love the boy to no end.

Thank you for the review!
