I really liked this chapter, even when Dean is quite irritated with Sammy he will still drop whatever and come to his rescue. I guess John doesn't really need to be there when Sammy has his Dean.

Love Dean teaching little Sam how to use his slingshot. He used great child psychiatry on Sam here even if he didn't realize it!

Dean still being the mom by reading books to Sammy. In a way I feel kind of sad for Dean because his world is revolving around Sammy and at Dean's age his world should revolve around himself. Seems like John is dropping the ball here! Great drabble.

It's kinda sad, that at 5 years old, Dean has basically taken his mother's place as Sammy's protector. Wonder who is taking care of Dean?

I really enjoyed this POV of young Dean as his house is burning down along with his mther. He listened to his dad and got Sammy out of harms way.

Hey hun.
They are interesting taken as a building picture of a life weighed down early by responsibility. There is a proud resignation to the role that is noble but sad.

Awww, I like these, Marnie. Interesting how the title is Dean, but the chapters all refer to Sam's age. I think my favorite so far is the ice cream cone, it's so definitively Dean to give Sam his own cone after Sammy drops his.
