Sorry for finding this so late, had no idea you had actually finished this story!  Well, better late than never .......!

Fitting that Jenni fired the final bullet that killed the wolf and now the townspeople can live in safety.  Not sure how long she will stay there though because of all the memories.

Not surprised the boys are heading off to Bobby's for a bit as Sam is freshly injured and just had his broken arm pinned and Dean is still recovering from his injuries.  They both need some down time and hopefully they will actually talk to each other.

An enjoyable read, thanks Candace.

Sarah

Author's Response:

You don't need to apologize, Sarah, I know your life gets crazy at times. I'm glad you enjoyed the ending to this story though - I can't say it was one of my favorite stories, but I'm happy with the way it turned out in the end so that's all that matters and as usual they both got a little banged up in my story so they could use the down time at Bobby's. Thanks for always sticking with me. :)

Jenni got her revenge and killed the werewolf. Awww...So Dean was Chris's father, a very touching ending. Candace, thanks for the great story, I'm looking forward to your next project.

Author's Response: I'm glad that you enjoyed the ending. This one was a lot more work than I thought it'd be. But it turned out to be worth it in the end. Hopefully I can flesh out my next story soon. Thank you for reading.

It's always hard to me to see your stories end especially when they like this one do on such a sad note. Sam and Dean still have to make up to each other and they are both far from healed. Sam's thoughts about what it meant to lose Dean - this was one stunning scene, you very well could feel his despair, "His revenge quest had been turned into desperation, which had grown larger with each day that had passed as Dean's deadline had approached. And then the final day had come, that black day that would forever mark how he felt about that day, and Dean had been taken from him." And what a grand fight against the alpha wolf and yes, absolutely Jenni had to be the one to bring him down, some brave girl and what a fighter! The only thing I don't know exactly how I feel about is that Dean in fact is Chris's father, I guess it's because I think Dean is in so many ways Sam's true dad (more than John ever was) and only Sam's. I hope you will at some point continue with this series so we can see what happens to our boys, where they go from here. Whatever you will decide to write, I'm going to look out for your stories; till then thank you so much for this journey and take care!!

Author's Response:

Not all my stories end on sad notes, I've been debating about whether or not to post some of my old stories on here, and they have much happier endings. But I'd have to go back and do a lot of work on them before I could post and I just don't have the time right now. I'm finding it hard to find time to do much of anything these days except clean, go to work, and take care of my family. So other favorite things have taken a backseat to real life, and unfortunately writing is one of them. But yes sometimes I can't find a way to make some stories have a happy ending, and this was one of them. It felt more appropriate for it to end this way. And I know you weren't thrilled that Chris was Jenni's baby, but in my defense I had no idea I was actually going to officially make Dean his father before I was writing the last bit of this chapter. The idea had been tickling me for a while, but I never wanted to touch it.

I think, maybe, one of the reasons that I never had Jenni let Dean or Sam in on the secret is because of the way the brothers are regarding each other and how damaged their relationship is in the fourth season. Telling Dean that he for sure had a son wasn't something Dean could have handled in his state of mind. I have no plans to bring Jenni or her family back right now so I don't know if that subject will ever come back again. I know you want me to continue this series, but I've got a few stories in mind and only one of them has the slightest reference to my alternate characters. But it is set before this story, almost immediately after Colors actually, a request from a friend. But who knows Jenni might make a fresh start and the guys will run into her again. Thank you for reading.

Aww, what a sad ending. I'd love to see a sequel someday in which Jenni can open up to Dean!
It has been a very entertaining read this story, thank you!

Author's Response: I'm glad that you enjoyed the ending, even if it was a sad one. I'm not quite sure if I will be bringing Jenni back or not. Maybe someday she'll come out of the works and wind herself into another story but I don't have any plans for her return anytime soon. I'll keep it in mind though - who knows maybe some day she will come back and will confess the truth to Dean, or maybe she won't. I think Jenni can read him very well and knows that now isn't a good time to tell him that Chris is his - which is why she lied to Sam and didn't say anything to Dean. I'm glad you enjoyed this story though. Thank you for reading.

I WONDERED about Chris!!!

She should have let Dean know.  He needs something to live for  :(

Perfect ending, really.  Jenni needed to be the one to take out the big bad.  Very appropriate.  I hope things have settled down some.  Life is busy, I KNOW!!!!

Author's Response: In all honesty I had never fully decided to make Chris Dean's until this final chapter and that was just the way that the story decided to play out. But I think Jenni made the right decision in not telling Dean, at least not now. Not with everything else he has on his plate at the moment with the apocolypse and his relationship with Sam falling apart, I think something like finding out he has a son might not be doing him any favors. Although from The Kids Are Alright episode it is obvious that Dean would love to have a kid but I think Jenni could tell it wasn't the right time to tell him. I'm glad you enjoyed the ending though. Thank you for reading and for the review. I have a lot of ideas for the story you asked for so hopefully I can flesh them out and get that story going before too long - it's my next project. :)

Awww...Sam taking care of Chris is so sweet. Dean and Sam won't be alone after all, Jenni is in revenge mode and ready to go with them. Can't wait for the hunt to begin. Terrific update Candace, go easy with the updates and take care of your hubby, hope he is getting better.

Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed Sam taking care of Chris. It was interesting trying to work an infant into the story - as I don't have one myself. I don't know too much about babies except for what I see my two best friends go through with their kids, but I hope I did Chris justice. I hope you enjoy the epilogue, thank you for sticking with this one and for the review.

Interesting that they are not werewolves but witches who have changed into wolves.  Nice twist, I have not heard of Mai-cob  before.  At least the alpha female is dead but Dean is probably right that the alpha male is after them for revenge for his partner being killed.  Pity Bobby is too far away to come help and although Jenni seems determined to help and probably wants to get revenge for Greg being killed she really needs to stay at home with young Chris as he will need his mum more than ever now he only had one parent.

Author's Response: I've done tons of lore on werewolves as I like to make my stories as mythology bases as possible, but werewolves are so commonly done. When I saw the Mai-cob legend I was very excited as it gave me something new to work with in an otherwise commonly used creature. I hope that you enjoy the final chapter. Thanks for the review, Sarah.

I'm sorry to hear that your husband had a relapse, hopefully he's on the mend again and can finally leave this illness behind.

I am absurdly pleased to see Sam struggling to take care of a small child.  Oh yeah.  I'm sorry your man has been sick- with the same thing, even!  That's just not fair!  Hang in there, lady!  It's all good!

Author's Response: I'm glad that you enjoyed the last chapter, it was fun to have Sam trying to take care of Chris - if even for a short time. I hope you enjoy the final chapter. I'm hoping to get to work on the story you requested next - depending on how things go around here. Thanks for the review.

Sorry to hear about your hubby, hope he's feeling better by now. Thanks for the little sneak peek, I'm all excited for your next chapter. Don't worry with update, take care of your husband, we can wait.

Author's Response: Thanks, hon. He was feeling better until Thursday and then he got sick again. He is feeling a little better today but I don't know if that will last. Hopefully it will. I hope that you enjoy the next chapter and it is worth the wait. Thank you for your patience and understanding I really appreciate it.

And just thank you for the wonderful sneak peek!!

Author's Response:

Thank you for your understanding and patience I really appreciate it. My husband was feeling better until this past Thursday but then he has been really sick again for the past few days. He says he is starting to feel better today so hopefully he is on the mend.

But I really do appreciate your willingness to wait for me to find the time to update this story and for sticking with me. It means a lot. And thank you for the prayers too - we are so grateful for them.

Hi, thank you for all your efforts to keep your readers happy! Even posting a sneak peek while your husband is not doing well. I hope is on the mend!

Author's Response:

I just really appreciate your guys' patience with me. I know I have been really behind on trying to get updates worked on and posted. It just seems like I don't have time for much anymore. But hopefully that will change as we are being released from our church calling so that will give me back my Wednesday nights which gives me an extra day in order to get things done, which will hopefully give me some writing time during the week.

My husband is doing better some days, and some days not. He was really sick again Thursday up until today. He's feeling better now, so hopefully he is on the mend. But thank you I appreciate your patience and understanding.

Author's Response: Thank you for understanding and your patience on the delay. I really appreciate it. My husband is doing better most of the time, but has been sick on and off the past couple of weeks. Hopefully he will be on the mend now. Today has been kind of rough as was yesterday - but he looks a little better now. Thank you again.

Author's Response: Thank you for understanding about the delay I really appreciate it, Julie. Mike does ok some days and other days he still doesn't feel well. Today is a day he isn't feeling his best but he's trying as we have company coming tonight. But hopefully more rest will help.

So glad to see you are back with us!! A fantastic but very sad chapter and I still can't believe Greg is dead, poor Jenni, can't even imagine how desperate she must be now. And it sure will weigh heavy on both Dean and Sam who already struggle so hard with their damaged relationship and their responsibility - Sam's words to Jenni showed this so clearly and painfully, "This is what we do, Jenni. It's what we were raised to do...It's what we are destined to do." To see how both brothers suffer and long for each other just hurts and so it meant even more here that Sam wouldn't leave his brothers side for a single moment and Dean realizing it "...was no longer a safe haven, it was a prison, in which Castiel was holding him. He wanted Sam." Loved this and in a way I hope as things are so desperate now they will understand what they mean to each other and that they have something that can't be destroyed. The fight with the wolves will show, they only can survive this when they fight together! Thank you for another great chapter!

Author's Response:

Jenni is in a pretty desperate situation right now. She has one toddler and a baby on the way and no husband. She is going to have to over come some pretty big hurdles in the future, but I think she will survive. She is strong and outgoing - she'll make it.

I'm glad that you enjoyed the brotherly relationship aspect I tried to bring into this chapter. I don't think anything - even after all they've been through will ever seperate them completely. That's why I love this show so much. There relationship is truly inspiring. Thanks for the review.

Thanks for the update! My, what a sad chapter, poor Jenni. I really hope the officers made a mistake and that Greg is still alive.

Author's Response: I'm sorry but Greg really is dead. It wasn't nice but it was necessary. Don't ask me why sometimes I just go with the flow and that was the direction the story was heading. Sometimes I don't fully understand why things turn out the way they do until they come to a head and then I look back and realize why. I think in this case that it was more for Jenni's character development. And to build up her strength. I hope that you enjoy the next chapter though. Thanks for the review.

Awww no, poor Greg, i bet Jenni blames herself for calling Greg home, looking forward to more of this great story.

Author's Response: I think on some level Jenni feels guilty for calling Greg home. But she has so much on her mind right now. What with still needing to take care of Chris - and being pregnant with her second baby. She is a little overwhelmed. Hope you enjoy the next chapter. Thanks for the review.

*blink*  Oh man, you killed Greg!  That was NASTY!  VERY evil of them to take out the doctors first.  You've got to love smart bad guys.  Welcome back online!  Glad you're back.

Author's Response: Yes I am sorry I killed Greg. But I found it necessary. As horrible as it was and as sad as I was to do it - sometimes you have to trust your muse and do what it tells you to do. Hope you enjoy the next chapter. Thanks for the review.

Reviewer: bia1007 (Signed) · Date: 16/10/09 01:11 PM · On: Chapter 7

You sure gave me a lot to think about during the long wait (couldn't think of a happier occasion though) for the next chappie. Things are awfully tense between Sam and Dean but their little debate before the wolves attacked (one scary fight) showed very clearly Sam's feelings, he still hasn't adjusted to the loss of his brother - neither before nor after Dean's time in hell - because he never wanted to adjust and this is what I think will help them get through this; it is encouraged by Dean's first reaction after he woke up at Jenny's - Dean's eyes slowly blinked open, his jaded green eyes glassy from the pain. "Sammy..." (yeah still Sammy!). As always written in a breathtaking way. Thank you!!

Now have a wonderful and happy wedding!! Sabine

Author's Response: No, I don't think Sam ever adjusted to loosing Dean, nor do I think he ever will. With as close as they are too each other it is impossible for either of them to get over the death of the other. But I'm trying to get to a point in the story where they don't feel quite so far apart, but still not back to where they used to be because they never reach that in season four. They are busy repairing their relationship in season 5 but at the beginning of season four the are still getting used to being brothers again. Sam had to survive on his own for four months while he knew Dean was burning in Hell. That destroyed him I think more than he is willing to let on, and I want to touch that a bit, but not go in too deep because he did touch on that a bit in "I Know What You Did Last Summer" I don't want to just divulge into something that has already been done, because I don't want the story to get boring, or to veer off course from where I am headed. I hope that you enjoy this next chapter, and I hope it was worth the wait. Thank you so much as always for reading and letting me know what you thought. I really appreciate it.

I'm glad you didn't leave it on a cliffhanger!  You've set things up well, we know the direction your story is going to take, and we can wait for the rest when your life is yours again.  Have a wonderful wonderful wedding, hon!

Julie

Author's Response: No I figured a cliffhanger wouldn't be very nice since it was going to be such a long wait for the next installment. Hopefully this next chapter won't take me too long to finish and I can get it posted within the next couple of weeks. The wedding went off without a hitch, unless you count Mike accidentally going to the wrong temple at first :). He made it there eventually and we got married so it all worked out. Thanks as always for reading and letting me know what you thought. I really appreciate it.

So loved this update - overwhelming intense scene at the beginning when Sam and Dean lay in their beds, side by side but seperated nevertheless, each brother fighting his own desperate battle and it just hurts to see them like this. How much they still do care showed Sam's thoughts about his big brother and this was a beautiful vow of love for Dean - "Sam had never seen anyone give more than Dean had. Dean had given up his chance of a childhood so that Sam had a chance at one. He'd become a parent at the tender age of four..."/"Sam didn't remember the first few years of course, but he remembered being four and following Dean around the motel rooms. Mimicking Dean's every movement, studying him thoroughly, wanting to be just like him...He'd been Sam's Superman...And even better, Dean was real"

And then Dean sitting in Jenni's kitchen (and she is pregnant, everything is so much more dangerous now and Sam must feel horrible about his attack...definitely not good!), drinking, things are desperate for sure (such a sad moment when Jenni made the hot chocolate as "pick me up" for Dean and he couldn't have cared less, he completely lost the joy of it). With Sam's revelation they are dealing with the werewolves who can change by will this hunt will be a life and death fight. Marvellous chapter!

Good luck for the wedding, won't be long now!!!!

Author's Response:

Chapter 6 was an interesting experience for me to try and write. I'm still getting into Sam's character, and I'm not finding it all that easy, but I feel like I'm easing into him a little. I'm glad you enjoyed the first bit though, where the brothers are side by side in the dark of their shared room. That was a very trying part for me to write, and I wasn't quite sure whether to take it out or leave it in, so I'm glad you liked it.

Dean really is struggling right now what with everything coming down on him at once almost. And now he knows that Jenni is pregnant which makes things more stressful because of Jenni's little confession about having a miscarriage. Then Sam discovering that the wolves they are fighting might just be the ones who change at will. Both brothers have more on their plates than they need to. Guess I'm really mean aren't I? lol

Glad you enjoyed it though. Thanks for the review.
