Oh wow, GREAT twist there! I'm wondering if John was wrong in assuming that it's the Aztec god that's got Dean feeling suicidal (maybe it's a denial, thing?), or if the god was being less than truthful...

John's working off theory, but if one of his boys did start hurting himself, I think John would look for a supernatural cause before he'd accept an emotional one. I guess you'll have to wait and discover the truth with Sam.

Bobby is my hero. Ever since they showed us the apocalypse fallout shelter, I've felt unworthy of the man.

Oh wow -- angst overload, PLUS the plot thickens! You've given a real treat here!
WOO HOO!
This was really excellent. Poor Dean's suffering, and Sam's desperation to keep his brother safe, to keep him from hurting himself. I could actually feel his anxiety, felt my stomach tying itself in knots, with his worry about all the ways Dean could hurt himself.
And it's both adorable and tragically sad that Dean's not fooling anyone with his promises. Sam knows he's still a danger to himself, even though Dean's trying to hard to reassure his little brother that he won't "do anything."
Cannot WAIT for the next chapter to find out what that hoo doo skull thingie in the mirror was all about. But my guess is someone's seriously messing with Dean. And coughing up the bead? Both gross (fishing around in the puke bowl) and intriguing.
BRING IT!

My oh my, I didn't see that coming! I do hope that you plan to enlighten us about the job Dean and John have just come off that a) means Dean has to lie low with Sam and b) has Dean seriously contemplating suicide, 'cos I seriously want to know.

Oh holy sweet Jesus! That had me seriously choked up! Poor freakin' Sam, waking up to discover that Dean was about to kill himself, in such a horrible and violent way!!
I'm surprised Sam didn't take him straight to a shrink or something! Makes you wonder what you'd do in a similar situation.

How incredibly sad! Dean being suicidal was so heart wrenching. I hope Sammy can get Dean some kind of help. His dreams are coming true. I hope Sam realizes that he has had bad dreams of Jess, too. Wonder what has brought Dean to such a crossroads in his life. He's so broken here. I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

I liked this, another fine addition to your story. Dean and the all-American pasttime, baseball--a perfect fit. Of course he'd be good at it. Now I'm wondering if Dean's going to actually take the chance to tryout for the Tides?

I love the real life moments like when Dean started missing his swings and Sam could he him plotting the strategy in his head. That was awesome. Only bad thing is that I keep waiting for evil to peak around the corner. Hey! I guess it is like real life:D

I really hope that you don't kill off Jess. After making her so cool and having her be a big part of Sam (and Dean's lives) it would be awful to kill her. Maybe initiate her into the hunter lifestyle via a close encounter and have Dean set up base in Palo Alto so they could have the best of both worlds?
Anyway, love it so far! Keep going.

When what is over? Dean leaving? I'm still curious as to why Dean was ordered to go stay with Sam. I'm really enjoying reading Dean being oh so domestic. It's great that Jess has really warmed up to Dean (who wouldn't ???). Looking forward to the next chapter!
