As always, a wonderful chapter. You put my feeble attempts at writing to shame! I am so hooked - can't wait for more!
Author's Response: Glad you like it- but dont sell yourself short... thats the beauty of writing fanfic... the real enjoyment and pleasure should be for you - dont compare yourself to others.. Thanks again... and Ihope you continue to enjoy.

This story just keeps getting better and better! I'm wondering if the "connection" between all of the victims is that they were all "warriors" of a sort...? Could fight against great odds, were hard to take down sort of thing? Either way, I can't wait for the next chapter! (I still think you should go with the village people theme! lol)
Author's Response: Hmmm.... have you been reading my mind???? hahahahaa.. yeah- I guess this plot is probably a little transparent... but hopefully still enjoyable... And Village People... * see's Dean in Cop uniform and Sam as a Sailor* Hmmm... that's almost disturbing

EEP! Okay, I'm ready for the next chapter! Soon! Dean really is being reckless, but I'm remember from season 2 that this is EXACTLY what Dean was doing. It still makes me cringe that he's getting himself deeper and deeper into trouble. Great job!
Author's Response: ooohhhh thank you... it makes me happy that you see this as fitting in so well with where they were at the beginning of S2... thats what I was shooting for. Glad you're enjoying it... and thanks for the support.

This is such a gripping story, with tension, humour and what's going to happen next moments to keep us guessing. I am loving this one, its just nice to have them together on a 'normal!' hunt... Moving on to the next chapter this evening hopefully... Jacq
Author's Response: Glad you like it Jaq.... and yes - I agree, its nice to have regular hunts and not some of the usual fare thats out there... Thanks again!

Well, I don't mind evil cliffies as long as the next update is quick! Poor Dean, he is beaten to a pulp and then the shaman decides to go ahead and drug him up and take him to dinner! Yikes! Please, please don't leave us hanging here on this cliff!
Author's Response: Thanks hun... and yes- the next chapter isnt far off. Glad you're enjoying the story - thanks for leaving a review.

Saw it coming and STILL went tumbling straight over the edge of that cliff! *hopes 'nearly finished' means posting soon!* hee
Author's Response: I'm glad it was still a "gotcha" moment for you... and yes- nearly finished will mean posting soon...LOL

That was a great read, it was so worth the wait. Love Sam and Nara interaction, awesome. If I was Sam, it's not John Tall Bear I would be worried but Biyen. So a captivating story Tree, you're doing an amazing work with this one, I can't wait for more.
Author's Response: Ahhh Oceane... you came back. Love seeing you review my story. And yep - too bad Sam wasnt as worried about Biyen... but he'll figure it out- eventually.... Next chapter will be up this week. Thanks again!

I enjoyed this chapter, well worth the wait, looking forward to finding out what Biyen is up to.
Author's Response: Thanks so much- the next chapter will be up sometime this week. Glad you're enjoying the story so far....

Life finally slowed down for me to get caught up on my reading, and catch this story! I am loving it! You have a great investigation that is very intriguing. You manage to capture the relationship between the boys right at that awful time so very well. I like the flirting romance too. I am SO GLAD that I got a chance to start reading this one. I can't wait to finish it.
Author's Response: Thank you Julie... I'm glad you found it and are enjoying it. I'm not one to write lengthy chapter fics... so this one will likely wrap up in a few more. Suffice it to say that there will be Whump-aplenty, not to mention more of the flirting that you liked and even some Ass-kicking Sammy... Thanks again!

Oooh! what has the old man gotten himself into? You have to post again VERY SOON! "How do you know I don't have a machete back in my motel room," Sam asked. Or the trunk of the car... I laughed loud enough to receive odd looks from my family. The whole psycho killer bit was so funny! Especially the part about the background music and disfigurement. I can already see that Dean is definitely not going to be Nara's type.
Author's Response: I coudlnt resist the Friday the 13th reference in light of Jared.... maybe not horribly sublte but I liked it... and then the thought that Sam WOULD have machete in the car... was too funny to pass up. I also liked that Nara was kinda sassy- maybe not so much Sam's usual type.

"Nothing said "shut the hell up and leave me alone" for Dean like Unforgiven." Hiarious! I don't know what I want more, Dean to kick ass or get his ass kicked. Surprise me!
Author's Response: I kinda have one of those songs where my hubby knows if its playing to just leave me the heck alone. I kinda figured after spending all the time in the Impala together- Sam would know what Dean listened to when he was hurt versus angry versus ??? Unforgiven seemed like a good choice for the "shut the hell up and leave me alone" song... glad you liked that... and... have no fear- it will be "ass-kicked" but this is Dean..

Awwww....Sammy is sweet on Nara. Dean is so funny with Sammy and Nara. I have a feeling Dean is being lead to dinner, and he is the main course!

Oh oh, I have a feeling that Biyen has decided that Dean's firery spirit will be perfect for the sacrifice. Loved how Den was able to beat the 3 bullies even though he was inebriated. Looking forward to the next chapter.
Author's Response: You hit the nail on the head.... Biyen has definatley sized up Dean as his next sacrifice... now we just let the Whump begin!

Great job! You have a way with words and that alone holds my interest. Can't wait for more.
Author's Response: Thanks hun... appreciate the review... Hope you enjoy the upcoming chapters.

Another brilliant chapter, great fight scene, poor Sam in the store lol, looking forward to more.
Author's Response: I've never thought I write Sam very well- but I kinda loved that store scene. It seemed true to how Sam would act and talk- I hope I didnt blow it- or worse yet- offend any Sammies... lol Thanks for reading.

The big fight at the bar involving DEan won't help to restore the brothers relationships, there're still lot of tension. The old indian chose Dean for his next victim, bad news. Riveting story, can't wait to know what'll happen next.
Author's Response: Thanks Oceane... that old Indian has some nastiness in store for the brothers... stay tuned!

Angst and whump galore... you had me laughing, cheering, hiding behind the bed and sniffling in this chappie - that line, "Leave me alone Dad... he whispered silently. Just leave me alone for one night..." is utterly heartbreaking. Hope the new place is good!
Author's Response: Thanks Cal... it makes me smile so big when someone picks out a specific line from the story. While I dont ever assume to be a great writer- there are times when a sentence just feels SO RIGHT... I'm glad it evoked a similar emotion for you. Thanks for reading!

Know what you mean about RL - it's settled on me like a ten tonne truck at the moment. Oh, and I have my own set of pom-poms - purple ones. And I don't share. They're MY pom-poms! *pokes tongue* Wow - that argument in the car was savage - Sam, Sam, Sam - you should know better. But it's always the one you love the most who knows how to wound the deepest. Dean's slam back was just as sharp, and designed to hurt just as much. They're really not in a good head-space for this hunt. And now trouble has found Dean - and he's embracing it with open arms. Things are about to get bloody.... Touching scenes between Biyen and his niece - she's like a female Sam - wonder if they'll become allies in this hunt. I think the boys are going to need all their skills for this one. Dean's internal monologue was heartbreaking. He really was in so much pain after John's death. And with what his father dumped on him before he died - I could have cheerfully brought John back to life for the sole purpose of wringing his neck myself when I found out the secret. What he did to his sons.... Hope the move went well, and you're all settled in. Must send some bribe pics to soothe the muse's ruffled feathers - lol. Jules

The conversation started so well with Dean and Sam remembering a fishing trip with Pastor Jim and then, all went sour, lot of tension between them. Dean wanted to forget, to not feel since drinking didn't work maybe a fight'll do, with all the alcohol in his system, I'm not sure he can win against these three big guys. What Biyen did, can't wait to know. Riveting story so far. Tree, sorry to hear about RL, hope everything is going to be fine for you.
Author's Response: Awwww Thanks Oceane, you're always sooo kind with your reviews. I'm glad you liked the bit of reminiscing about fishing with Pastor Jim... I think thats something he might have tried to do- to give the boys a taste of normal. And Biyen- well- you wont have to wait long- and I might add- that Biyen's not finished yet either. Thanks again- glad you're enjoying.

Yikes! I'm not sure if Dean can handle those 3 after drinking on an empty stomach. I'm really looking forward to seeing how you are going to resolve Dean and Sam's fight.
Author's Response: The resolution between Sam and Dean is going to carry throughout the story... there's still a lot to tell. As for how Dean fares in the fight... I dont think you'll be disappointed.

Brilliant chapter, i'm loving this story, looking forward to reading more.
Author's Response: Thanks much-I'm glad you're enjoying it- the next chapter will be just a little delayed- due to RL... but it wont be a long wait.

Damn RL! How can you leave it there? There's most definately angst galore in this chappie, now you gotta keep that promise! bring it. :) Great chapter - still all kindsa menacing, looming badness on the horizon. Can't wait... (didja catch the hint there? was oh-so-very subtle! heh)

how did i miss this! It's got everything a girlcould hope for - exhausted Dean, bad guys and good guys walking the thin line and getting it all wrong, looks like... love it so far - very menacing!
Author's Response: No worries, hun... better late than never... right? Hope you continue to enjoy the story.

Great start Tree. I'm already intrigued by Dean and Sam's new hunt. Can't wait for more.
Author's Response: Oceane- SOOOO good to see you again. Glad you're checking out this one- I know you followed the VS avidly - I hope you enjoy my little solo effort...

Ewwwwww - that bit with the knife and the blood was gruesome. And that's definitely no Wendigo.... Thank you, Tree - you honour me. I was only too happy to help out. Loved the banter between the boys - and the switching from anger to back on track that they do so well was very nicely executed. But I have a bad feeling about Dean's mental state going into this hunt. He's distracted, and I have a horrible feeling that they're going to need all their skill for this predator. So, is the old man going to become this thing's happy meal? Looking forward to chapter 2. Jules
Author's Response: Jules- you are toooo kind... thank you for the glowing review....it makes me smile to know you enjoyed this.. Chapter 2 isnt far behind- and ummm no- the old man is not scheduled for the dollar menu just yet... LOL!
