Perfect chapter! I loved the transformation from John to Sam, Sam praying, Dean "asking" for help during the storm, the reunion in the house, the exchange of the bracelets.... awwww! GREAT! Moving on...
Author's Response: Thank you so much, we just love it that you let us know the parts of our chapter that affected you. Your praise means the world to us. Your stars are shiny and beautiful, thanks heaps! Petra and Jules

Ladies, I bow to you and thank you with all my heart for an outstanding amazing journey! This is a story I will hold dear, it so fulfilled all my hopes for our boys, they are back together, really together, in perfect sync and nothing will seperate them ever again, their bond not only restored but now truly unbreakable. Let me say it with Sam, for me this story truly felt like a rush of warmth suffusing my heart! It was an achingly beautiful homecoming Dean gave his little brother and this time there are just too many special moments to name them all, so I chose one - "For all of his life, since he was a baby in fact, Sam had done and said things that caught Dean unaware and affected him at a deep level. Little gestures or moments that Sam was mostly oblivious to, but caused Dean to experience a warm sensation deep in his heart that actually hurt, it was so intense. Little gestures and moments that Dean filed away in his memories to treasure in private. If he were forced to put words around it, he would best describe it as his very own private inner chick flick moment." No better way to describe their affection. This journey was magic, thank you again for sharing with us and now go and both enjoy a bit of free time - but don't forget to come back please! LOL, Sabine
Author's Response: Wow, Sabine, what a heartfelt review. We cherish every word. To tell us that you will hold our story dear as it fulfilled your hopes is every authors dream to hear from a reader and we couldn't be happier. We are blown away with your "truly felt like a rush of warmth suffusing my heart!" comment. You have paid us the highest compliment ever and we thank you very much. We just love it when our readers pick out scenes or lines that affect them, and you have chosen a scene that we both loved. We had many lovely discussions about how Dean would feel viewing his little brother back researching after such a long time apart, and to know that you understood the significance of that moment with us is awesome. Sabine, we have enjoyed and valued your company every step of this journey. Thank you so much for your reviews, your support and most of all, your faith in us to do the right thing by the Winchester brothers. Free time? What's that?!?! We're both writing madly on new projects as we speak... More Sabine-stars! How lovely! Petra and Jules

I'm so excited that the epilogue turned out to be so long. I was surprised and yet I wasn't when Sam told Ginny the whole story. I'm not amazed it shook her up, after all she really took Sam into her heart and to hear what he had to go through, to hear all those things she never thought were even possible had to be a lot. I was really worried about Dean getting home, yet I told myself that Sam's dream put him into the Impala, so I was pretty sure things would be alright. The time he spent at home was great though, because the conversations between and Sam were so much what you expect from him. Encouraging Sam to get the girls phone number, then telling him to get it for him. I just wondered a little bit about the part that it was supposed to be Natalie and then turned into Amy. This sounds like there could be more to it. I loved Dean getting things ready, washing Sam's clothes and having memories of childhood, finally deciding that Sam would sleep in the same room with him as always, at least for now. At the same time I love how Blake questioned Sam, if he was doing this for himself or Dean. It was good for Sam, because he realized that this was really what he wanted. Now the way back scared me. I was so worried, especially by the almost accident. I loved it led Sam to praying and how amazingly his prayer was answered. It doesn't always happen, but I have seen it happen myself. Dean's surprise was great, to give Sam a do over, a change to make things better, that's truly amazing and speaks of the deep love he has for his brother. I also loved the gifts he had for Sam. Now I can't wait to read on. This is just so beyond word, even the last few chapters. Hugs, Vonnie
Author's Response: We are so chuffed that you are excited that our epilogue turned out to be so long - it was a mammoth effort all right, and we are so pleased that so many of our treasured readers loved it too. Thank you for your deep thoughts re Sam disclosing to Ginny. We felt that she and Sam shared a special bond that meant he could trust her, and your reaction tells us we were right, that is was the right move. Your comment shows her that you get that too, so thanks a bunch. Throughout this entire fic we have been able to rely on you to see the connections and read the deeper threads between the lines. Regarding the Natalie-Amy thing, no ulterior motives - just a mix up of names and some playful brotherly bantering. Once again, we are amazed and yet thrilled with the level of intellectual analysis with which you have interrogated our story. We just love it to bits that we have affected you so emotionally. You need to know that your comments have been the subject of much enjoyment and conversation between two very grateful co-authors. Your stars are very precious to us. Petra and Jules

And what a journey. Can you believe this story got us through all spring and part of the summer?! Wow... Terrific job guys, I loved it from first to last word, and can't thank you enough. See you very soon around...
Author's Response: Thank you very much for your kind and enthusiastic review, fredo. Yes, this fic did take us all the way through two seasons, didn't it!! Our initial plan was seven chapters, but...well...two hypo muses bouncing off each other - our fic sprouted a life of its own!! We are grinning from ear to ear that you loved our story from the first word to the last, what a lovely thing to say! Petra and Jules

A fine upstanding citizen Sam, lol. Great chapter again guys, emotion, action. I was tempted to keep the last part for tomorrow, but no, I have to read it right now!
Author's Response: Wow, we had you reading straight through rather than your usual saving us for your quiet moments! While we have absolutely loved it that throughout this trip you have saved us for your quiet downtime, we are tickled pink that you couldn't resist the temptation to put in a marathon read to get to the end this time. Thanks for your kind words, action and emotion was our gameplan!! Petra and Jules

Great ending to one of the best stories I have ever read on the site and believe me I have read many. I am sad to see it end, but also I am excited to see what you ladies come up with next. I know this story has been all consuming for you both so hopefully after a short break I will see your names again and be able to enjoy what comes from your awesome mind. After the journey you put Sam and Dean through in this story it was great to see them back to together as the brothers that we all know and love. I can only hope, as he has promised, that Kripke will do the same by the end of Season 5. Thank you for giving me the joy and excitement each week of this story and stirring my emotions as only a gifted writer can. You will see my name again in the reviews on your next one, as I feel I have gotten to know you some through this story. I look forward to talking to you again. Just to drop a little bug in your ear. I think we need to see a sequel to this story. Maybe let us know how Sam and Dean are doing and maybe how Sam and Gracie's relationship is growing. I would love to read it as I'm sure others would to. Thanks again and God Bless. Jane
Author's Response: Wow. Just... wow. You have two co-writers absolutely speechless over here. That has to be one of the greatest compliments we have ever had. Thank you just doesn't cut it sometimes, but we mean it sincerely. Your whole review is a joy for us both. Our whole plan was always to put these brothers back together again, so we are stoked that you know and love this too - after all, this is the thread that binds this awesome fandom together. And yep, we are trusting in Kripke to do the right thing by these wonderful brothers too *hands clasped together, repeating "in Kripke we trust, in Kripke we trust..."* Thank you with all our hearts for your kind review, your comments have us glowing and grinning like you wouldn't believe. Part 1 was great and I look forward to reading part 2!! My favorite was Sam's reaction to seeing the Impala for the first time in 2 years. It was great!! I'm also glad again that you gave closure to a part of John's past for Sam with the bar fight, and also for Dean since he couldn't be there to support his brother the first time. I'm glad his friends got to see the real Sam as well. O.K., so on to part 2.
Author's Response: Thanks heaps for letting us know how much you enjoyed Part I, we are pretty stoked. We just love it that our Impala scene had such an impact on you. Glad you it got to you too. As authors, we are amazed and humbled that you feel deeply enough to comment. And yes, that bar scene was very satisfying to write. Thanks for noticing that an important part of that scene was not just Sam's retribution, but Dean's support and Sam's friends seeing the real Sam, the brother, behind John Campbell. Petra and Jules

Another great chapter ladies! I will be reading the epilogue over the weekend. Thanks for splitting it up. It makes me feel we have more to read. I love the way we saw the transition of John into Sam in this chapter. The symbolism of him shaving his beard was a perfect touch. Thank you also for putting closure on Jo and her pursuit of him. I'm looking for to the end and Dean bringing Sam home.
Author's Response: We are so glad that splitting our epilogue has worked so well for our readers. Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We are thrilled beyond words that you think this is one of the best stories you have ever read, we couldn't ask for a nicer comment. It sure makes all our effort worthwhile. You have put huge smiles on our faces. Yes, it was vital for Sam that the transition back from John be a deliberate and definitive action if Sam was to truly find himself, and therefore his way back to Dean. Thank you for understanding this with us. We just love it that our readers are such deep thinkers and get all our connections and symbolisms, as well as our need to tie up ends, and this type of review is exactly what we mean. Thank you heaps for getting it with us. Petra and Jules

Ladies _ WOW!!!!!!!! _ I hope that it was ok that I wanted to post this until the final chapter. I read all the chapters and wanted to express my thoughts at the end. I took my time to sit back and enjoy the final chapters to this truly amazing story. I wanted to be able to savor and feel each thought, enotion and action with Sam and Dean. After all I felt like I was on this truly amazing journey with them. This has been such a truly amazing story. I felt like I was right there with them the whole time and I just loved it!!!!!!!!! The last chapters were just so truly amazing. They touch my heart in just so many ways. These were just breath taking and emotional moments that you couldn't help but feel your heart going right to the boys. This whole story has just left me so totally blown away. Truly just an amazing story. I am so happy to see that Sam and Dean are right back were they belong. What a perfect way to end this journey. I have to admit though I am a little sad to see this end. I had a great time with you and enjoyed each and every chapter. I know that this was a lot of hard work and the result of some truly awesome talent. This will be a story that I will have bookmarked and will be rereading for a very long time to come. What else can I say but THANK YOU so much for capturing my heart and keeping me so enthralled with this mind blowing story. I do hope that you both stay happy and healthy as well. Awesome chapter girls! Just knew that Bill couldn't be up to anything untoward, after all Sam picked him as Dean's hunting partner. Loved the surprise of him making Sam his blood brother, despite knowing about the demon blood, so that he is protected. And could just imagine Dean's face as Bill cut into Sam's arm - Bill was lucky to leave unscathed! So glad that Sam has decided to come home, typical of Dean that he wants to make it something special though and wants to return to Bobby's first to bring Sam back in the Impala. That way they will be complete - Dean, Sam and the Impala! Blake must have had a surprise when seeing Sam again and looking at the x-rays, not only the tiny shadow has gone but his visible scars too! And he took the news well about the archangel!
Just hope that Sam's nightmare doesn't come true, but as Dean knows about it he will do everything in his power to prevent it happening. Loved all the brotherly moments between the boys, especially the eye hug - awesome! And perfect how everyone will be sad to see Sam leave but knows that he and Dean belong together and are two parts of a whole. Sunday night sounds like it will be fun! Can't believe you are in the final stretch of this awesome story - can't wait for the epilogue next week, there are bound to be a few surprises! Sarah
Author's Response: Sarah, once again your stunning review just blows our minds. We love it that not only do you point out the bits that impact on you, but you analyse and critique the reasons behind so succinctly. We really appreciate that you get the reasons behind Whitesnake's actions so well. Sam needing protection and confidence were important parts of our fic, and it's so affirming that you get all the little reasons that make the big picture of our fic work so well. And yes, the Winchesters are not complete without the Impala. Sam needed that as much as Dean, as much as us and our readers. Thank you for making this a special part of your review. Ahhh, Sam's nightmare...Jule's is the Queen of suspense, and it is so much fun working with her cliffies and teasers. Thank you once again for you ability to take off your beta hat and enjoy our fic as a much valued reader and reviewer - for us, this is proof of the success of our story - that after all your intense micro-reading, you can still kick back and read with your heart guiding you and not your red pen. We love you to bits. Petra and Jules

I'm glad that you are feeling better Jules. Another outstanding chapter, i'm so glad that Whitesnake helped Sam and that he wasn't trying to hurt him. I'm really looking forward to the epilogue but i'm so hoping that Sam's nightmare was just that and nothing comes of it.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your well wishes for Jules. She scared us all a little more than we care to admit, but we are delighted that it wasn't anything major and she's on the mend. We always had faith in Whitesnake, he's one of our good guys, but it was fun to tease it out for our readers for a while. Thanks for sharing our trust in him. Sam's nightmare was a worry, wasn't it? We just love it that our readers get so caught up in the emotion and plot of our story. Thanks so much for getting it. As always, we loved your comments. Petra and Jules

first of all- Jules, I'm SO glad that you're doing okay now! Secondly, the review: OK, you guys surprised me- I didn't expect that blood brothers thing and I was more than a little suspious of Whitesnake but I'm glad to find him to be on the boys' side. I loved the outsider povs in this part starting with Whitesnake who knows Dean the best and ending with Ginny who knows Sam the best. I absolutely LOVED how they all saw that each Winchester was only half and together they make a whole. This is so TRUE and I can only hope that S5 shows this as well. You guys made me giggle and go aww and my heart melted during the brotherly moments especially the 'bitch-jerk' as well as 'that's my boy'. I'm starting to feel that Sam feels finally at home and not afraid that Dean will leave, etc and Dean's surprise and going to get the Impala so it can be a real welcome home for Sam just melts my heart. The bracelet exchange was so aww especially when Sam thought how Dean's simple gesture means a whole lot more than Whitesnake's blood brother thing. Since this is the last part, I'm praying that Sam's dream was just a regular nightmare ;) On that note- thanks so much for sharing this awesome wonderful story with us, it has been such a great ride!
Author's Response: Jules is travelling very well, thank you pp (may we call you that??) your concern is wonderful and both of us appreciate it very much. So...we surprised you? How wonderful! We always knew, of course, that Whitesnake was on team-Winchester, but it's always fun to watch the emotions of our readers with our cliffies. Your use of capitals tell us how passionate you are in loving how everyone is finally seeing that the boys belong together as two parts of a whole. We were determined for this to be vital as we head towards our story ending and we are thrilled that it meant so much to you too. We have all been on the roller coaster ride of S4, loving the intense story yet afraid for our brothers, and like you we have high hopes for S5. Thank you heaps for letting us know which parts of this chapter worked for you and why. We love hearing that our work affects you so deeply, both emotionally and intellectually, we could ask for more. As far as thanking us, can we simply say "You are welcome, our friend, we are thrilled you are along for the ride." Your stars are divine and just made our day extra special. Petra and Jules

First things first, I'm so happy to have you back, really hope you are feeling better and will get some rest during your more than well-deserved and I think much needed vacation. You will come back to us after that, right? Be sure I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers! I've probably said it before but actually can't say it often enough - I have the feeling that I'm reading here something very rare, a lot like a comet that you know only comes around once or twice in a lifetime. This story is so special in every respect, it fulfilled my hopes with every line and this chapter gives another proof of it. Right from the beginning when Bill (glad I wasn't wrong about him) after mixing his blood with Sam's discovered the real Dean, the one who found the missing part of his soul again (and this was an incredible and wonderful image, so true! - "Sam - Sam was the missing part. Sam made Dean who he was. And he had just inflicted a wound upon that piece of Dean's soul that he held most precious.") it felt like things now really are falling back into place again. Bill's action offered Sam another important part of his home coming - "Now you can go home..." and what could you wish more in life... - to Dean. And then, my very own and perfect Sam eye hugs (you bet I will hold these dear, it's a wonderful treat!!, I endlessly enjoyed it, thank you sooo much!): "For a long moment, the younger man studied him in silence before giving him a tentative smile. Something flashed briefly in his eyes and then he was gone, disappearing into the darkened bedroom...He couldn't be one hundred percent certain, because it had been a long time since he had received that particular look from his brother. But he could have sworn that Sam had just hugged him with his eyes." Oh yes, he did! And - this now felt nearly magic - there was another one: "Looking up again, the shorter Winchester found his brother's soft doe eyes on him. Yep, he decided, that was definitely an eye-hug. There was no mistaking it. He fought to keep a grin from his face as he turned back to the stove...Dean waited until Sam had turned partway around before adding grumpily, "And quit huggin' me with your eyes, Don't think I can't see you doin' it." I'm in heaven right now I think! Loved the way Sam told the truth to his friends and said his goodbyes (one question, you had a beautiful line here: "He was close enough to see the swirl of gold flecks in Sam's green irises." Did you in fact come so near to Jared at the Con you know about this? I'm in awe!), so very Sam, all gentle and kind, but most of all I loved Sam chose Dean over everyone else, an awesome proof of his love for his brother. There isn't a better and more perfect way to fully bring Sam home than Dean's idea to do it style with the Impala and as much as I understand Sam's panic after his nightmare that something will happen to Dean and he won't come back for and to him (but he will, he always will!!) it is essential they will have this closure - and this angst filled moment also gave us this very lovely brother scene at the end when Dean with his vow to come back to Sam gave Sam his bracelet, "his big brother's commitment. His big brother's promise. Dean owned few things, and what he did, he treasured as they represented who he was. Sam knew absolutely that Dean was giving a piece of himself more binding than Bill Whitesnake's blood brother pledge." Nothing to add than GRAND! (and very sorry this is so long!). Sooo looking forward to the epilogue.
Author's Response: We just need to sit down a bit, your review has knocked us off our feet. Wow, what an amazing review! We are walking on cloud nine thanks to you. You have no idea how your words have made us feel. To write that our fic is "something very rare" and "so special in every respect" is phenomenal and we thank you with our heart and soul. We just love it that you highlight and discuss the parts of our fic that mean so much to you. You seem to pick the parts that we are either very proud of, or the parts that we put a lot of thought and discussion into to get them just right. Thank you so much for your heartfelt and clever comments, they mean the world to us. And yes, the eye hugs are all yours. We are thrilled you love them so much. They are SO Sam, we notice it all the time. Sam sure wears his heart on his sleeve. Yes, we both were close enough on numerous occasions at the recent OzCon to look Jared in the eyes and they sure are beautiful. Not only that, but they sparkle with his intelligence and sense of fun. Yep, we were mesmerised!!! Sabine, we loved this review so very, very much. Thank you!!! Your stars are perfect, thank you so much. Petra and Jules

Whitesnake, he is my new hero. I just love how he got Sam and how offering him blood brotherhood was his gift to help Sam go back with his brother, be able to live again. It was also so great how Blake was in awe over hearing Sam was healed by Michael, especially after he didn't want to believe it at first. For the first time in this story, there is a lightheartedness between the brothers starting to come through, that has been so sorely missed by both of them. The running, the teasing all this is so much part of them. I loved how Dean called Phoenix and revealed he found source and he was his brother, how he understood that this was something very important to Sam. And the observers, especially Ginny noticing the changes in Sam, seeing the connection between him and Dean. How even two years apart couldn't change any of this, that's especially amazing. I love this. And then there is Sam's nightmare, fear of loosing Dean again and this time permanently, fear that he can't let go. Although he trusts his brother, the fear he has lived with for the last two years is too ingrained into him to let go so easily. Dean, the guy that hates chick flicks, is also the guy who can read his brother and who gives him understanding instead of scolding him. And again it is so wonderful, who they understand each other without words. How Dean giving his bracelet is received by Sam as the absolute promise to come back. This story continues to grip me and I am as anxious as I am saddened to read the epilogue. You two are absolutely wonderful together and I'm glad you have given us/me this story. I hope you are better Jules, make sure you take care of yourself. Vitamins, especially B Complex for stress to help you back on your feet. Lots of rest and good friends around you will help a lot too. I will also continue to pray for you. Hugs, Vonnie
Author's Response: We just love hearing from you, Vonnie. The way you delve into all the nooks and crannies of our story and get exactly what we wanted to get out of this fic is just amazing. You see the subtle messages within our plot so perfectly. Yes, Whitesnake's blood brother pledge is deeper than just his protection, although this is very important for Sam to feel safe, but it IS about Sam being able to be find himself so he can find his way back to Dean completely. You just get it, girl and we are thrilled that you do. We needed the boys healing of their brotherhood to be a journey of understanding, so the banter and light heartedness had to be part of that. Once again, you are on our wave length. Thank you for choosing to tell us the parts of this chapter that you loved. All of your astute comments are right on the bullseye, and it makes all the work worthwhile when our readers take the time to mention the parts of our story that made an impact. In particular, your comment that our story continues to grip you is accolades of the highest quality and we appreciate it very much. Thank you so much. Your message to Jules is just lovely and I know all the well wishes she has received brighten her day and make her feel valued and cherished, so thank you very much for your kind words. Author's Response: Thanks for your lovely welcome back to Jules. Everyone was worried for a while there, but the outcome is all good. I prayed with Sam... What an amazing comment!! Thank you for you kind words and enthusiasm. We love having you onboard with us. Yes, it's been a long and painful road all right; the Winchester journey is never smooth is it? We love having your trust and promise we won't let you down. Just a few more bumps first... Thank you for your beautiful stars. Petra and Jules

Jules so glad you're feeling better, hope you stay that way. this was such an Awww chapter. Just what I needed after last weeks episode and with this weeks comming. Hoping that the fact you've only got the epilogue to go means that Sam's dream wasn't a vision. Can't wait to see what Dean's do-over plan is. Great job ladies.Thankyou
