Hell yeah! Sam beat the crap out of that s**t of a bully. Loved Dean's sideline comments. Prior to that fight scene I loved the training sequence, something I really think is under played in both fanfic and the series. And the boys are on their way back to Bobby's (home). Off to read that now.
Author's Response: Thanks for loving our bar and training scenes. We get all tingly when scenes we have discussed and teased out in detail make such an impact on our wonderful readers. Your comment has put major smiles on our faces. Oh, btw, we totally agree that we need to see more of the boys training... More shiny stars!! You are spoiling us, but we love it!! Petra and Jules

Breathing a large sigh of relief here that Dean made it safely back through the snowstorm. Had my heart in my mouth there for awhile. I didn't see the style of Dean's do over coming until it came but it had me laughing. The picture you painted of him tangled up in Sam's packing was hilarious. Thank you. Off to read more.
Author's Response: Sorry to do that to you, but hey, what's the point of a good cliffie if not to scare our readers witless?? We're very happy to hear you are breathing ok! Thanks for your lovely feedback about our little do over. That was another of Jules' gems and we love it that we had you giggling. Thanks again for more shiny stars. Petra and Jules

I'm not sure how but I missed this and all the subsequent updates for this fabulous story. Sorry. But on the upside I get to read the rest without the agonies of waiting and wondering between updates. Yet again you have managed to put my heart in my mouth, with Sam's nightmare about Dean dying in the car crash. I'm quite sure that should that happen Sam would not survive long, he would simply loose the will the live. As for Whitesnake, what an unexpected outcome that was. I enjoyed that he suddenly realised that he didn't know the real Dean Winchester and that the real version is a damn sight scarier than the dumbed down version he hunted with. I hope that his protection will be as absolute as his words promised. I think Sam will need it, if only for his peace of mind. Anyway in view of the fact that there is more ready for me to read, I'm off to do some boring housework before coming back to enjoy more.
Author's Response: Welcome back, we're sure glad to see you again. Would you believe Jules was here on a visit, standing right beside me when we found your reviews. Gotta tell ya, we LOVE your Dean comment!! "...that the real version is a damn sight scarier than the dumbed down version he hunted with" had us in stitches and glowing with pride. Thank you for the astute feedback and a bigger thank you for the awesome way you expressed it. And for the record, we agree whole heartedly with you that Sam would not have survived if his nightmare had turned into a vision which came true. We are glowing under your shiny stars, thank you very much. Petra and Jules

At last I have got around to reviewing part 2 of the epilogue! Sorry it was such a long time coming!
Perfect final instalment and Dean finally bringing Sam home. Your writing was pure perfection, pitched perfectly, not at all mushy and totally believable. Loved how you wrote Grace stirring feelings in Sam that he hadn't felt for so long and Dean's humour over Sam's not-so-little problem was just so brotherly, still knowing how to gently tease him and get him all flustered and embarrassed before fleeing the room!
Sam's meltdown in the Impala was so believable, and his fears set against the lyrics to Desperado fit so well. And Dean, being the awesome big brother he is, just knew what was happening and how to counteract Sam's panic attack. My heart melted with the hug "Hurry up, while no one's watchin'." was so Dean but he needed that hug as much as Sam.
Perfect ending Dean allowing shotgun to choose the music and Sam making the perfect choice for both him and Dean with AC/DC's Back in Black. Yeah, Sammy is finally home.
Thank you for an amazing read, and the fact that you tied up all the loose ends, not leaving the reader wondering, was the icing on the cake. It was an honour and a privilege to beta for you both. And thank you Jules and Chris for a fantastic two weeks and Petra for an awesome weekend. Miss you all. Sarah
Author's Response: oops, wrong button! Here's our real response. Working on getting rid of the dud one... No apologies needed, my friend. Doing the tourist thing around Australia for two weeks - no wonder you have only just got to the last part of our epilogue. Thank you so very much for your terrific comments to wrap our story up. It was important for us to tie up all loose ends and reach closure for all the threads of our fic, so we are delighted that you think so too. We are glowing with your praise, especially your "pitched perfectly" observations. We strived to balance the deep emotions with the lighter moments within the brother's relationship, and it is very satisfying when our readers notice and enjoy these aspects of our story. We love it that we melted your heart and that our song choices resonated with you. How can we ever thank you for everything you have contributed to the development of this story? The honour and privilege is all ours. Your skills as a beta are second to none, your patience as we fiddled with certain parts ad nauseum is much appreciated and your understanding for the time pressures we imposed upon you as we crashed and burned in real life or when our muses were on a roll is treasured. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Meeting you and getting to know you was truly a highlight of our lives. Petra and Jules

I had to savor these last few chapters. I really didn't wanna miss anything. What a journey you put the boys through and me with it. Up and downs, laughing, crying, despair, feelings I can't even describe are still running through me. And now I'm looking at this last piece of the puzzle that is your story and it fits perfectly in with the rest. Dean helps Sam continue his do over and he savors every bit of it as much or even more than Sam. To see his brother rediscover the Impala, how to drive it is clearly better than sex for Dean, although he would never confess to it. I love how he confesses his one night stand to Sam and it's not really a surprise to me that Sam isn't upset. I love how you have Sam rediscover love. How he senses the feelings Grace invokes in him, how he feels things stir he doesn't quite know how to deal with because he hasn't felt them in so long. It could have been mushy and totally romance novel, but you turned it into something really special, partially because you lightened it up with Dean. The doing the dishes, the pillow fight, the teasing, it was perfect. Again it could have been overdone, but it wasn't. You know exactly how to add the right dose. Loved how Sam got all embarrassed over getting an erection, how Dean figures out that even after everything, Sam still blushes and gets embarrassed. Now things could have been great and they could have driven off into the sun set, yet again it shows how well you know the boys. Sam still is reluctant, still feels he doesn't deserve this and once again Dean proves how awesome he can be. He brings his brother home, into his arms, his safe hug gives Sam the reassurance he needs. And now Sam proves he also knows what Dean needs. Back in Black - perfect for the two of them, perfect for Dean, perfect for Sam. What a perfect ending to a perfect story. I hope I will see more from you soon. In the meantime, relax, recupe and have lots of fun. Maybe Grace will return in the future? Would be great to see more of her. Thanks for letting me be part of this journey. Hugs, Vonnie
Author's Response: And we have savoured every one of your wonderful reviews. Thank you so much for all the effort and detail you have put into each and every one. We are buzzed knowing how much of yourself you have given as you journeyed with us- your emotional highs, your enjoyment and your clever critiquing. We are honoured and humbled. Once again, you uncovered all the important details of our fic and understand absolutely how all the threads and details dovetail. Telling us that this epilogue is the perfect last piece of our puzzle shows us that you absolutely get it. Thank you so much for your detailed and astute observations. We just knew that the Impala would be the final element in the homecoming of these men's brotherhood, and we are thrilled that you see it too. It was long planned as a significant endpoint for these brothers to finally heal, so we cannot thank you enough for sharing that understanding with us. And yes, there are still hurdles for these brothers to overcome, but we felt (Jules in particular) that "Back in Black" would be symbolic that at least they were on this journey together, emotionally as well as physically. We have been blessed to have you ride shotgun with us, you have stuck with us through 18 chapters and six months. Thank you so very much for all your support, intelligent and deep comments and of course, your hugs. Thanks for your stars, they are beautiful. Petra and Jules

The beginning of this chapter got to me my absolute favorite out of this whole amazing story. It is pure genius and shows how much you guys delved into the psyche of one Sam Winchester. When Dean came back during the night, Sam knew he brought the Impala, but it got forgotten over the 'surprise' Dean brought. Now he actually sees her and he has to go and touch her to make her real. His reluctance to do so, the time it takes for him to finally do it shows how desperate he is to be home again. The car makes it real for him, drives it home in every sense of the word. She is his baby just as much as Deans. Maybe in a little bit of a different way. She has been home for him all his live and during the time Dean was in hell, she has been his link to him, the only thing left of his brother. Now, that he is finally coming home, it is the Impala that gets him there. When he finally touches her, he knows this is real, before that he knew it but it was more than he actually could believe because after all, he is a Winchester and that makes him feel he doesn't deserve it, it's too good to be true. For Dean to watch this had to be one of the most awesome moments in his life. It had to show him, he is still the 'father', he still knows what his little brother needs. It makes him more awesome than ever before and has to make up for the feeling of having not been their for Sam during the cancer treatment. On the other side he also understands how to keep things light, as the fight stance shows. Can't let Sammy break down, too many chick flick moments are detrimental, after all, this is still Dean Winchester, very true to himself. Then there is the bar. I liked how Dean understood Sam's motives of not wanting to go in, how he gave him freedom to say no but made him tell him why first. He had his back and Sam could trust in this and go in. He actually had some fun, until the song started. And how painful this was, how he still can't listen to this song without being taken back to the worst time of his live. I loved that Dean let him have the fight, because knowing him, he had to itch beating the crap out of those guys. And yet, once again he is the brother and father, who knows what Sam needs. This time it is going right. No drunken rage, no three against one, Dean makes sure of this, and the confidence that his big brother has his back. I think the important thing was not just to know that Dean was there, but that he approved. Sam knew he was doing the right thing, although he still had to get confirmation afterwards, just like the little boy who runs to daddy, he knows he did right, because he did what daddy taught him, but he still needs him to say it. He kept his promise. The end, the reference to 'Wizard of Oz' Sam makes is so fitting here, in every way, not just the Kansas boys in Auntie Em's diner, but more so walking the yellow brick road, touching and changing lives on the way and being ready to go home. To have Blake look after them and be amazed at how the go together like two pieces of a puzzle, awesome. And Dean feeling sorry for the people who loose Sam, because he know what it means to have Sam on your side, but he finally can take back what is his, his role as the big brother/father and protector. Your are so great together, hope there will be more projects like this. Hugs, Vonnie
Author's Response: Wow and wow! Sometimes the word "thank you" doesn't feel enough, but we mean it sincerely. We appreciate and are humbled by every single word you wrote. Thank you for not only pointing out the parts of our story that stood out for you, but for how these parts reached out to you. You have our fic absolutely - you understand exactly everything we were aiming for and we can't thank you enough. We have been privileged to have had you along for our ride. We have cherished and looked forward to your reviews very much. Jules and I have had long conversations over how wonderful our reviewers are, and you feature high on our list. Your comments about Dean having his brother's back in the bar fight when all he wanted to do was mete out some big brother Winchester justice was right on the money, as was everything you felt about Sam's reaction to the Impala. We so agree with you that she is Sam's baby as much as Dean's because she is one of his strongest connections to his big brother - Perfect analogy and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for getting it. Jules and I agree on many things, and Dean always keeping his promises to Sam is one we are big on - we are glad you are too. And that little "Wizard of Oz" reference? Another of Jule's imaginative gems I couldn't reisist... Your detailed and thoughtful reviews have been a source of inspiration and joy to us both. And more Vonnie-stars! How lovely! Petra and Jules

I was waiting ever so patiently for the last chapter to come up, and to my shock, and horror, I somehow missed it! Ladies, you were amazing. This story was wonderful, and I'm going to be re-reading it more than once, I'm pretty sure. There are a very few stories I read where I finish them with a sense of loss because I'm going to MISS it now that it's done. This is one of those stories. Thank you thank you thank you for writing it!
Author's Response: What a wonderful review! Your words of praise are cherished by us both, so thank you very much. To know that not only will you miss our story, but you will read it again is one of the highest compliments you can pay us. And you missed us while waiting patiently!! Aw, crap! I expected there to be yelling and fighting, but that was way worse than I thought. I can't believe Sam really thought Dean was going to kill him--why would he've bothered to nurse him back to health after Stull if he was going to kill him?? I liked the part where Sam bandaged Dean's hand, they connected for just a second. That was nice. But then Dean found his computer and stuff--which I suspect is his Phoenix stuff--and didn't handle that well at all. He let his temper get the best of him and didn't hear Sam out. Though with how hurt and abandoned and betrayed he feels, I don't know...it's understandable, I guess. *sigh* I hope nothing's seriously wrong with Sam. I hope the boys make up soon.
Author's Response: Thank you very much for your detailed and thoughtful comment. We tried very hard to make sure we got into both the men's heads. Each had a journey with reasons and understandings, and this included fears and misunderstandings. We are thrilled that our readers saw this as the core of our story. As far as hoping that Sam is okay and the boys make up...we promise we always have the same goal as you in mind, but we need to let you know the road ahead is going to be pretty bumpy, so strap into your seatbelt and hold on!! Two years?! TWO YEARS?! That just breaks my heart. I like Whitesnake, and despite appearances to the contrary, I just know that Sam is Phoenix somehow. Glad Dean's found Sam now, but yeah...it's not gonna be pretty. He's gonna be ticked. And I would be, too.
Author's Response: Oh, Beth, your heart is broken with ours!! Thanks for liking Whitesnake, we're kinda proud of him and his role in our story. And Sam is Phoenix? We love it that we have our readers wondering...watch this space... And yep, Dean's ticked all right... Thanks a bunch for stopping by to comment, we are so blown away by the emotional buy-in our readers are having with his story. Petra and Jules

I really hate that Dean and Grace slept together. I understand why you did it, but I still really hate that it happened. And if he ever does find Sam, and Sam and Grace do eventually get together, isn't that going to make things really awkward? I wouldn't want to be in a relationship with someone who'd had sex with my sibling. Sorry, I just really don't like that. But I did like the confrontation with Jo, and that Grace headed it off. Also really liked Dean's interaction with the other hunter who was watching him--how he kept setting him up, and putting one over on him, it totally seemed like a Dean thing to do. And then he was kind to him in the end, which was nice. I can't believe Jo doesn't get that Sam was possessed when he attacked her. She really needs to let it go. And I can't believe it's been all this time and Dean hasn't found Sam yet. That makes me so sad.
Author's Response: Thanks so much for your honest and detailed comments, Beth. It is thrilling that our readers are interrogating our fic in so much depth. Once again the calibre of our readers just astounds and humbles us. We talked long and hard about the consequences of this aspect of our storyline. Dean was in the depths of despair - his lack of understanding about why Sam booked and his loneliness at being deserted (his greatest fear) had him emotionally crippled. Grace and Dean sought solace and company with each other. We needed them to be there for each other, and they were. Thanks heaps for your thoughts on Dean's confrontation with Jo and the hunter she sicced onto him. We are stoked that you were with us on this one. It was a loose end we needed to tie up, both from our fic and from Kripke's story. And yes, our brother's have been without each other for far too long... Petra and Jules

The "weapons of mass seduction" line made me smile. Glad Grace was there to help them out, and I'm glad Sam's doing so much better. I can't believe he just took off on Dean, though! I hope he can find him quickly, or Sam changes his mind and comes back. I can see him being worried about telling Dean everything, but he didn't even give Dean a chance to react one way or another, and he said himself Dean hasn't been anything but caring and supportive since the final battle. Oh, Sam. *shakes head*
Author's Response: Welcome back! We're glad that line gave you a smile and yes, Grace is a blessing isn't she? She was exactly what both boys needed in this crisis. So much has happened to drive a wedge between these brothers, so much damage inflicted upon them in a deliberate - and successful - plan to divide them. It's no wonder Sam took the bolt and Dean was angry and confused. We felt compelled to tell both brothers' side of the story, so we are glad that you commented on both their pov's. We proclaim to be Dean girls but Sam is embedded well and truly in our hearts and muses. Petra and Jules

Dean looking at Sam in the Impala was so awww! Dean letting Sam drive says a lot! Dean's thoughts throughout the part just made me very teary! OH DEAN! I loved the echoing of the pilot! But now Dean really knows Sam unlike in the pilot which is awesome! The whole Grace thing was a really nice touch and I loved that you guys also brought that full circle from the beginning of the story. I definitely think that Sam deserves Grace's love and now we just need to get someone for Dean and we're set LOL I actually liked that you used the show's formula and just stuck with the brotherly relationship with the romance very distantly in the background. The last scene with AC/DC's "Back in Black" was SO WONDERFUL AND FITTING!! I couldn't have thought of a better ending to such an epic story! The boys travelling in the Impala together on their way somewhere- BRILLIANT! Jules and Petra- thank you so much for telling this story! I know that you two are Dean girls but your understanding of Sam is so utterly awesome! I wish that you two could be on the writing team of the show because you just get the boys and you did something that I felt that the show lacked during S4- showing both brothers' POV and getting the reader to sympathize with both Winchesters as well as heaping on us all the great brotherly moments...BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Author's Response: We know we've said it before, but you have been so in tune with our fic from the get go. You have understood everything we wanted to achieve - all the reasons, connections and emotions, you have just got it. Your reviews have been one of the highlights of this fic's journey for both of us. We can't thank you enough for your faith in us and our story, and we are humbled and grateful for your ongoing support and praise. We have looked forward to your comments outlining what parts got to you and how they impacted. The quality of the reviews we have received for this fic in terms of heartfelt honesty and real reactions has been staggering. We are so grateful for reviewers like you who have given everything and sometimes "thank you" just doesn't feel big enough, but we mean it from the bottom of our hearts. The biggest compliment you could have given us is your observation that we showed both boys pov with understanding. Yes, we are a pair of Dean!girls but our love for Sam is never to be doubted- and for you to understand this is huge. It was ALWAYS our intention to give boys equal air time and to make sure we tell both sides of the story. Yes, you have paid us the greatest compliment ever. We are honoured to have had you along for the ride. Thank you for your glittery stars, we are basking in their glow. Petra and Jules

WOW WOW WOW that’s all I’m going to say about Sam seeing the Impala again. PERFECT! The sparring was so cool and just one of the most wonderful brotherly moments during the story that I LOVED! Seeing the younger set of brothers- you guys gave me the feeling that both Sam and Dean no longer feel lost and alone. Sam’s fight with the town bully was great because I loved that Dean let Sam fight his own battles and Dean supporting Sam. Dean’s thoughts/voice is so poignant! Sam saying goodbye to the women was so sad! OK, I'm off to read the final part...:( I don't want to see it end...but I guess that all great things need to come to an end sometime huh?
Author's Response: What an awesome review! We are blushing and smiling all at once thanks to you. And we're chuffed that you loved the scene with Sam reconnecting with the Impala. It was truly a special moment for Sam, and a big part of his ongoing restoration. We are glowing that once again you took the time to point out the scenes you loved and why you loved them. That kind of feedback is precious indeed, and we don't take it for granted one bit. Thank you so very much, we have smiles on our dials that won't go away. More shiny stars! Thanks, we love them. I absolutely LOVE the fact that the final part became a threesome! I just wanted to say sorry if I messed up with some of the names *blushes* Sam's conversation with Ginny- WOW!! Especially with her insight about mourning J. Campbell- brilliant! The bracelet and the watch that Dean got to replace and when he gave them to Sam just filled my eyes with tears! Willa totally got it! I've almost thought that at times Dean seemed to be Sam's father. Loved the little snippit about the boys' first time meeting Bobby. Loved the resolution with Jo! Ah, Blake will always remain Blake huh? but nice comparison of Blake’s words with Jessica's. Sam shaving off his J. Campbell beard and saying goodbye to J. Campbell then saying Hello to S. Winchester was awesome especially threaded with the echoing of Dean's words! brilliant! I love that you were consistent with the story of the storm.Sam's praying and the help coming Dean's way was awesome! The reenactment of the pilot scene was PERFECT! The end with Dean calling Sam "Sammy" BRILLIANT!!! OK, now I'm off to read the next part... :D
Author's Response: Gotta tell you, we were stunned ourselves when we combined our scenes and checked out the word count!! The more we talked, the more we wrote as the movie in our heads played out on the page. While we freaked at first, it is comments like yours that let us know loud and clear we did the right thing by splitting it. We are thrilled that you absolutely loved our threesome!! "We're goin' home!" - yes, finally! Ladies, what can I say? First of all THANK YOU for bringing us this wonderful piece of writing! It has truly been an amazing ride from the first chapter to the last. You have created such a powerful story that kept me looking forward to each and every update and put a smile on my face when I logged in on Fridays (the "hiatuses" of course excused!). The emotions you created are beyond words. So many things went through my head and I found myself time after time cursing at worrisome situations and keeping fingers crossed for happy outcomes. The story never got boring despite it length and in the end I dreaded this final chapter as I wished it wouldn't be the last lines of a terrific journey that I was hoping to have continued longer. Jules and Petra, you did a fantastic job. I am sad to see this masterpiece end. But I hope you will team up again and bring us more "genius-ness". Hugs from Germany!
Author's Response: How can we thank you for being with us for this entire journey? Your reviews shone the way for us and we looked forward to each and every one. Thank you so much for your heartfelt praise and comments. We can ask for no better compliment. Telling us that you dreaded the ending of our story because you didn't want it to end is high praise and we are thrilled. Great first part to the epilogue, loved it. Just beautiful how Dean woke up and found his little brother outside staring at the Impala before gently putting his hand on her. You could so feel Sam's emotion at looking at his 'home' again after two years. So emotional too Dean's reaction to watching his brother and his thoughts at having the two most important things in his life reunited again. And Dean deflecting Sam's meltdown with a sparring session was pure genius and just loved how Dean got the upper hand by tickling his sibling into submission! It fit totally that Sam would walk Dean round the town, pointing out things with a running commentary and fitting too that he became silent when passing the church, remembering the feelings of before. Just loved how when they came to the park Dean and Sam witnessed the younger brothers building a snowman, bringing things full circle. Liked too how there was closure on the fight where Blake had rescued the unconscious Sam, dealing with the bully who had threatened him before Dean's words cut him down as to the only reason he had come out victorious over his brother the last time. Fitting that Sam said his goodbyes to the friends he had made and who had supported him in Dean's absence in Em's Diner, the same place he had been reunited with his big brother. And a fantastic ending to this chapter, the image of Sam and Dean leaving the diner together, getting into the Impala in perfect synchronicity and slamming their doors as one. Will get to part 2 of the epilogue as soon as I have time. Can't wait to read the end of this masterpiece.
Author's Response: Knowing you were here in Australia as your read and reviewed our three part epilogue makes this review so special for us! You have put as much effort into your reviews as you do into beta'ing for us and we appreciate every word and comment. It is just wonderful that you can take off your beta hat and read for the sheer pleasure of being a Supernatural fan, and we just love that about you. We are absolutely thrilled that you point out not only the parts of our chapter that you love, but that you let us know how they affected you on an emotional level. I can't believe it's over! ... I need a moment... *grabs tissues* Well, W.O.W. What an AMAZING and epic journey you took us on, girls. Thank you for putting the effort and dedication you put into this, and for bringing us a mind-blowing chapter every week! It was certainly something that brightened up my friday nights, and now that it's over I can't help feeling a little sad. But, really, what a story! You have outdone yourselves with this one here... I laughed, cried, giggled, gasped, may have ignored some people that were talking to me while I was reading this... I can't think of a better way to have spent the months waiting for season 5 than reading such a great story. The brothers are finally going home! You sure know how to put them through the wringer. Two and a half years apart AND cancer! I think Kripke may be rubbing off on your muses, they sure know how to torture the poor boys! But it was all worth it at the end, and if something like this had happened on the show, I wouldn't have had it any other way. I absolutely loved all the new characters you brought to the story. Sam's "girls" were lovely, especially Ginny, and Grace is a great character, loved that she ended up with Sammy. Beautifully written story, and perfect descriptions. I still can't get over the way I could picture every single scene, face, line and expression that Sam and Dean made. Majorly angsty but funny and sweet too, everything I love about the real show. Congratulations on this project, you nailed it. A perfect ending for a truly amazing story.
Author's Response: Thank you so very much for your lovely review. You have just made our day. Your praise and thanks have left us humble but you should see our smiles! We are so glad you felt all those emotions along the way with us. We talked and planned before every scene to make sure we hit the emotional mark, so it's wonderful when our treasured readers take the time to let us know that it worked. Your comments that you couldn't have thought of a better way to wait for S5, and Kripke rubbing off on our muses absolutely made our day, but it was your comment that you would love to see our story in the Show that just blew us away. Thank you so very for saying such a lovely thing. We worked very hard on making sure that our OC's didn't take over the story, but advanced the brothers' tale. It's wonderful that they worked their way into your heart as well as ours. And we researched certain episodes to death to make sure our boys' characterisations were as spot-on as we could make them. Even though it's an AU story, the boys still had to act canon and believable. Thank you for your wonderful words, and for faithfully sticking with us until the end. We are loving your stars! Petra and Jules

Well, I'm on my holidays so don't know how long it will take me to get to reading parts 1 and 2 of the epilogue, but never fear I will! Great chapter girls, so much to comment on that I hope I don't forget anything. Loved how Sam was coming through, allowing Ginny to hug him, something John rarely allowed. Totally Sam that he would confess all to Ginny and great that she accepted everything he said especially when he mentioned the archangel. Spot on how distracted Sam would be waiting to hear from Dean, though not so much so at the library but definitely at Willa's as he was waiting for his brother's call to say he was safely home. So Dean, not only taking a phone pic of the funky horse but also getting a replacement jelly bracelet for his little brother, making the do-over even more like before. Perfect touch too, how neither brother slept well, each having a nightmare around the same time and both waking up regularly during the night, missing the presence of their sibling. So glad that you had Jo arrive at Bobby's and Dean putting her straight about Sam, even telling her about the cancer, so that when she left there was no danger of her trying to hunt down the younger Winchester. Logical that Blake would question Sam as to whether he really wanted to go home or if it was because Dean wanted it and when Sam explained things it was spot on how Blake would see Sam as someone different, not as John his patient. Loved the scene with Sam shaving off his beard, completing the transformation from John to Sam and the commentary going through his head at the same time. Had my heart in my mouth when Dean started skidding on the black ice, thinking Sam's nightmare might come true but, for once, luck was on his side and he and the Impala came to no harm and he managed to stop and ring Sam. Great that both their prayers were answered with the arrival of the snowplough and that the roads Dean needed had been cleared so he could continue his journey to his little brother. Almost perfect timing that he arrived during the early hours of the morning, coming in through the window, less than quietly as he did so long ago in Stanford waking his little brother with his noise, prompting the same word "Dean"! Awesome as he gave Sam the jelly bracelet and Sam gave Dean back his skull one, everything was almost in its place, and giving Sam an almost identical watch to the one that had been destroyed was the icing on the cake! Great end to the chapter, them finally bunking down together to get some sleep with the typical Dean comment - "I'll just bunk down with you. It's only for a few hours." Dean held up a cautionary finger. "Just three rules, dude - no hogging the blankets, no kicking - and definitely no gas." Hope I haven't missed out anything and that I've done this chapter justice. Off to hit the sack myself now, will catch up with the epilogue as soon as I can! Well written girls.
Author's Response: Yay, you're here!! How AMAZING was it all being in the same room for this last post, wine glasses clinking as this epilogue threesome went up!! Just freaking AWESOME wasn't it!?! And now this wonderful review. WOW, we are loving all your detailed comments and deep understanding -your comments are very important to us. "He couldn't be one hundred percent certain, because it had been a long time since he had received that particular look from his brother. But he could have sworn that Sam had just hugged him with his eyes." This line killed me DEAD. I had been pretty much fighting the lump in my throat for a while, until this came along and I was all but done for. Then, the whole "I wanna come home" thing had me blinking back tears, but ssmiling at the same time, especially when Sammy fell asleep on Dean's shoulder. That was an adorable image. And from then on it was pretty much goofy giggling and silly smiling from my part and weird stares from my sister, but I loved every second of this. It's SO good to have them finally be brothers again. Thank you! I'm really glad you're all on board and healthy, bringing us this amazing chapter. You were missed! Ok, now on to the last few chapters!
Author's Response: Isn't that a corker of a line!! Another of Jule's gems. We just loved it that we killed you DEAD!! You had us in stitches with that one, my friend!! We are so pleased that our chapter affected you so emotionally that you fought the lump in your throat all the way. No wonder the eye hug did you in. And we did smirk at the image of you sitting there giggling and cooing while your sister wondered what the heck was happening to you!! Too cute! Thanks for your well wishes and your wonderful review, we appreciate it very much. Thank you so much for your pretty stars. Petra and Jules
