Mal What a wonderful story. It had a little piece of everything that I enjoy about the show in every chapter. You captured the mood of S4 beautifully and still found time to kill Ruby! lol It was a joy to read and I loved that it was Castiel that gave Dean the vision/dream. That he tried to show Dean that there could a happy end to it all some day. To quote the show's signature tune by Kansas here: There'll be peace when you are done/Lay your weary head to rest/Don't you cry no more. I could really see it finishing like that. Sad to see it end, and I look forward to the next one. *sets alarm clock for the muse* :) Thanks for this, Mary xx
Author's Response: Thanks so much, Mary, for your kind reviews. I did enjoy writing this story, but I needed to finally end it,. I hope I'll find the bug to write more, but I feel pretty spent. Wish I could think more season one-ish, but it was so long ago, I think it might be too far from the present now for people to relate, and I'm not crazy about the current television story line, at least from a writing standpoint. What an amazing ride this has been Mal! Like you, I wasn't ready to see this story end and enjoyed each and every new chapter you provided and happily followed every new turn you took. Your choice of words is amazing, you created powerful and colorful scenes that played out right in front of my inner eye. I found myself hoping, worrying, crossing fingers, cursing, smiling, imagining... not often does a story leave such a lasting impression. You are one talented writer and I enjoy your work very much. Wonderful ending to an amazing story. Lot of great moments, one of my favorite, Castiel being the one sending Dean in this dreamy world, loved the explanation why he did this, he cared for Dean, his friend, that was poignant and so touching. I've loved following Dean and Sam's journey through this story. Mal, you did an outstanding work, hope your muse'll wake up soon, I'm looking forward to your next story.

a beautiful ending Mal. I totally didnt expect Castiel's explanation of Dean's fantasy world- but it was not only logical- but such a wonderful, plausible offering that I actually found myself kinda cheering and having hope that Dean could accept it and not be angry with him ( although I did kinda understand why it was so painful for him to have it ripped away - like WIAWSNB).... This was such a wonderful/ angsty/ nailbiting/ journey and I am so happy to have had the opportunity to taken it. You so delightfully blended canon with your own AU- and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Cant wait for the next ride....

Mal, excellent story!!!!!!!! sorry to see it end. some great battles not just between the baddies but between Dean and Sam as well. loved the heartfelt moments between Sam, Dean, Bobby and Castiel. this story had me on the edge of my seat at times and tears dripping down my cheek during other times. again great job. hope another story will be up soon. Perferct, just perfect! Top writing once again Mal! Even the way you described the first scene in the kitchen with Rumsfeld made me go "awwww". So, the boys are on the way to get healing. It looks like we might be in the home stretch of this story. That thought kinda makes me sad. I enjoy it so much :)

Wonderful! I think they expressed themselves and hte relationship with one another very well. Also put in a disclaimer for future scre-ups. I like Bobby's patio furniture. I hadn't thought about what he might be using to deocrate the outside of his house. Very mechanic chic!

ok- first I have to start with the beautiful image of Rumsfeld- "nails clicking on the stairs like casteneta" - what a perfect description... And I also love this... Dean leaned heavily against the door frame, hair tufted everywhere Now if that doesnt just conjure up an image in my head... But most of all- I just loved the convo between them at the end... words, tears threatening... swallowing back those painful lumps in their throats... now only if they'll do the same damn thing in the show.... *sighs*. A great chapter- and I'm wondering if the healing is now fully underway... both physically and emotionally. Well done Mal!
