Loved this. Loved the detail in the accident scene (how do you know this stuff?) loved the fight scene even more especially Sam holding his own and winning his battle, and absolutely adored the ending. Am smiling brightly at that. Thank you so much for a great ride.

I will look forward to your next story, collaboration or not, and just hope that it doesn't rely on my having seen as much of season 4 as has aired in the US. (We've only just seen no 7) Otherwise I shall be forced to store it up.

Author's Response:

Hi, Midge,

Um - it's probably my logical bookkeeper's mind - I actually sketched the position of the two vehicles on a piece of paper, then calculated where they had to be for the Dodge to hit the Impala's back passenger door - anal, I know. And then once I had the positions right in my head, I just imagined how the scene would play out, and got typing. The injuries were researched, and again, I just thought out the angles and stuff as to how and where the cars would come to rest.

So glad that you loved the ending so much - and the fight. I love watching Sam fight. Love Dean too - I'm a Dean woman after all, but Sam can be a joy to watch sometimes. He defends high, and uses his elbows and legs a lot more than Dean does. And remember in Nightshifter, he single-handedly took down two fully armed SWAT cops. That kid packs one hell of a punch when he wants to.

As for the next story - there are elements in it of episodes up to and including 4:14, so unfortunately you might have to store this one up for a wee while, unless you're a spoiler-tart, as Cookie6 calls us. The rest is speculation on my and Cookie's part as to where the show is going - and a little of what we hope to happen....

You write the best fight scenes.

next weeks sounds interesting, I always love your work and  I thought The long Hard Road out of Hell was brilliant so can't wait

Author's Response:

Awww, thank you! I actually do a fair bit of research into the boys' fight scenes. I've practically memorised all their moves in Skin. And I've watched the fight in the dark in Sam's apartment in the pilot quite a few times, too, just to get their moves right. Then I just picture the fight I'm writing in my head, and go from there. It's sort of like a chess game with action figures - lol.

The Long Hard Road was a brilliant piece wasn't it? Oh my gosh - Petra had me actually feeling sorry for John - and that's a flipping miracle, because I'm not a John fan by any means. I'm so thrilled that she's come on board as my co-author. It's going to be a blast working with her. And we're only just over an hour away from each other, so that makes it easy to work on the chapters together.

Wow, what a brilliant start again! Glad we're already wednesday, lol...

Author's Response:

Hey, my friend! Hope you and yours are doing all right. Sending good thoughts your way, as always. Thanks for that - yes, we're off to a rocky start - there's a storm inside and outside the Impala at the moment - lol!

I was so exicted to see another story up.  I am a little late in leaving a review.  Sorry, it's been a crazy week for me.

Again, another great story from a great writer.  What a way to end this story.  Such a cliffhanger.  LOL.

I really really like the perspective you have taken on this story.  I really like the way this is heading.

I also like how you have gone back to the first season.  Things were a little less complicated for the boys but they still had so many emotions to deal with.  They were able to sare brotherly moments then and I so loved them for it.  As Dean would say "chick flick moments", but you you gotta love it when they did share them.

I can't wait for the next chapter to be up.  But as always I will be here happily waiting for it.  Again, great story and great writing.  Thanks again for entetaining us.  I always look forward to your stories.   Wish I had your talent.

Take care and hugs,

Jane

Author's Response:

Ah, that's all right, Jane. Real life quite often gets in the way of our favourite obsession. And I know how you feel - this has been my crazy week too. It's probably why I'm feeling a little queasy this evening.

Yes, S1 was really a time of innocence, wasn't it? The boys were almost carefree, compared to what has been thrown at them since then.

Aww, thank you! But we all have talent - just in different areas. For instance, there is no way on earth I could make a banner or a wallpaper - my mind doesn't work that way. I'd end up punching the monitor in frustration. So I'm willing to bet that there is stuff you can do which would leave my jaw dropping.

B x x

Author's Response:

LOL - sorry about that. I just love twists and cliffies - better than chocolate! And not as bad for the waistline.... Thank you - and sorry again, but I can only update once a week - real life is a pain sometimes. Hope you like the next chapter, and thanks again for your review - they're like gold to me.

Wow.  You are really good at messing with our minds :)  Awesome.  And I love the song too.  I can't wait for all the angst that will follow the argument!

Author's Response:

Thank you! I do love to mess. Ah, the angst - yes, there will be some - but there is a bit of a sharp left turn coming up before the boys get themselves sorted out - hope you enjoy.

Brilliant as always, an action packed exciting chapter,i'm so looking forward to the next part.

Author's Response:

Thank you for that. I actually had to do a bit of research to get my head back into S1. Almost made a mistake and had Dean shoot the ghost before I remembered that Sam didn't find out about the rocksalt-filled shotguns until Hookman. Details, details....

Okay, that was seriously AWESOME!

You totally tricked me with the red car -- I thought it was Dean bangin' Don's wife.  You're a crafty one!  lol.

Can't wait for the second part to this story!

Author's Response:

*snicker*... I so love to play with your minds. Sorry, that sounds so bad of me, but it's true. Thanks for that - I'm glad you're enjoying it. Well, let's see who ended up where on that rainy mountain road...

I followed your advise and listened to the song first. John Farnham, threw me back to the 80's and Germany. I loved the guy. Anyway, enough of the sappiness. This is wow, so much conflict, so much misunderstanding between the brothers, it is heartbreaking. Reminds me a little of Season 4 but with more hope. You really are a genius because for the longest time I expected the lover to be Dean. The similarities were uncanny. I know that was intentional. The first thing that tipped me off was the brown hair, Dean's is sandy, but what really told me it wasn't them, was the fact that the taller man slammed his 'bottlefilled' hand into Don. Sam might slam his fist in the guy but never a bottle. That's not like him. Anyway, so now they are involved because of Don head on driving into the Impala. Doesn't sound good. Don has to be dead. Now what about the boys? Can't wait for next Friday. Hugs, Vonnie

Author's Response:

Thanks, Vonnie. So glad you loved the song. He's got a great voice, and he's so funny on stage - he has a whole string of mother-in-law jokes that he trots out quite regularly.

Yes, it's a bit like S4, isn't it? The boys are so different, but when it comes to crunch time, they remember they are a team - and I'm hoping they will remember in S4, too... Ah, I got you, too, eh? No, it wasn't Dean - I was just messing with your head as usual. And you are dead right - Sam wouldn't do that. And Dean wouldn't signal him to step in unless he was really outnumbered.

Well, let's see who survived the crash, and who didn't.....

no no no! don't leave me there, that's just plain mean! Now I have to go into a blood transfusion competency meeting (yeah, I lead an exciting life!) not knowing if they are okay ..!  Loving it Jules  write somemore.  Bev xx

Author's Response:

Hi, Bev. Hope the meeting went well - sounds like fun, although a bit bloody...yes, I know that was a really bad pun... Well, now let's see - have I broken the boys beyond repair? That would have to be a no....perhaps....*grins evilly*...

Great story, the suspense you used and the events, both brothers hurt and now the accident, wow! How I love the way you use Farnham's great song (oh, this brings memories back, all nostalgic here) to frame the story!!! Can't wait for the update!

Author's Response:

Thanks, Bia. I'm a John Farnham fan. Chain Reaction is one of my favourites, along with Talk Of The Town, See The Banners Fall, Pressure Down and Always The Same.

Yes, both brothers were doing a great job of wounding each other - but they've just received a hell of a jolt - let's see how they came out the other side...

Ooohhh, awesome as usual.  Very intense.  It's so good in fact that I'm sorry it's just going to be a two shot.

Author's Response:

Thanks, Ness. Yes, only a little one this time. I'll make it up with the next story, don't worry. Hope you like the next bit - we'll see who is left standing after the crash.

Poor Sam, poor Dean, stormy,I love a good storm! (and cliffie).

So glad the muscle car was red! But you dinged the Impala! Dean is so not going to be happy...lol

Glad it's in S1, I'm avoiding any stories with spoilers until we've caught up over here.

Looking forward to part 2...Jacq

Author's Response:

Thanks for that, Jacq - I love a good storm, too - just not overhead...lol. We've had some vicious ones this summer, and I heard on the news this morning that there's another cyclone forming off the coast up north. And it's due to turn south and head our way.

I did ding the Impala - will Dean ever forgive me? LOL. And yes, I thought it was time to play in S1 again. So, what episode are you up to? Our last screened one was Wishful Thinking - we're way behind.

Hope you enjoy part 2, hon.

As always, absolutely fabulous.

Had it not been for the reminder that you like to mess with your readers heads, I'd have believed it was Sam smashing a bottle into the side of Don's head regardless of how out of character it seemed. As it was I just wondered...then their muscle car was red, which just reassured me that it wasn't Sam acting way out of character.

But to leave us with such an evil cliff-hanger until next week that's just cruel. We don't even have a clue if both vehicles end up over the cliff and what happened to the red car? Is that over the cliff too? Roll on next week.

Author's Response:

Thanks Midge. Oh, yes, it would have been grossly out of character for our gentle season 1 Sammy, wouldn't it? No, it was just me messing about as usual - lol.

Well, let's see - the Dodge is heading for the guard rail, the Impala is heading for the guard rail, and the Pontiac has vanished.....it was a bit of an evil cliffie, wasn't it? ...*grins evilly*...

All is about to be revealed...
