Briliant! The cruelest, most heart-breaking passage was when Sam called those filthy devils his brothers. He's rejected the man who sacrificed everything to raise him and thrown himself in with the evil they'd always fought. How horrible!

Wow, I must say, Sam is quite evil here. He didn't hesitate to draw Dean's blood. I'm not sure he can be saved. I cringed when he thought of Dean as vermin. Looking forward to your next chapter!

Bev, cliffy.............. chapter 1 ripped my heart out. the way your describe Bobby and Dean's pain; make me want to jump in this story and wrap my arms around them both. Sam evil and Dean having to do the one thing he desperately never wanted to do. heart wrenching. Renee What about "So not an Angel"???

Whew! (Takes a few deep breaths...) That was some stellar writing, girl -- And the angst is just magnificent! And passages like this: “The mottled grey of the concrete was cool in the warm evening air, and the formidable, slab like construction of the walls was solid and imposing. Bobby tried to use the substantial reality of the building to draw him back from the precarious edge of the emotional abyss he teetered on, but the maelstrom of fear and grief and anger raging within him would not be calmed.” - Just totally endear this dark, dark story to me-- Well done, and looking forward to more!

When I read this i was like. NO! SAMMY! NO! I could feel Dean's pain as clearly as anything. And more so because Bobby was there, also broken also defeated. Loved it!

Bev, I know I banged on about how much I love this fic, despite my phobia of the dark stuff. Your writing transcends the subject matter, lending a different tone to every piece whilst keeping a recognisable voice. But have I ever told you how much I love the way you write Bobby? Whenever he appears in your work, whatever his role at the time, you hit him spot on. And that's not easy. Heh, maybe it's your insider knowledge (feeling up his bum!) Damn it Bev! My eyes are all watery. I think you broke my heart. This is amazingly poignant and very well written. I can't believe it's really coming down to this---Dean against Sam. How did Sammy get to this place? Why can't he see what he's doing to his brother and Bobby? It's a tragedy. I keep hoping Kripke won't end the series this way, but... *heavy-hearted sigh*

My last review for you was just one word and, as you know , it's because the words I read were so beautifully written. This story has a completely different feel. One of the things I love best about your stories is that your "voice" changes with the story. In this story your voice is short, sharp and to the point. It compliments the story so perfectly and makes the reader feel the pain and the anguish that the characters are feeling. There was pain in "Vampyre Kiss" but there was beauty in that pain - as there should be with a vampire tale -"Darkness" isn't supposed to have that same beauty. We are meant to be in the darkness that the brothers are in and we are meant to find our own way out of the darkness, just as they are. An amazingly written tale! Thanks for an amazing read, Bev, you are truly one of the most talented writers I've ever had the pleasure to experience. Kim
