All excited to see you back with a story, really can't stop smiling!; loved this one, showing this very gentle and tender side of John, who loved his boys dearly but couldn't always express it, very touching; also a wonderful Sam scene, caring so much about his brother!!! Hope you will eventually update Ever The Same, it's such a great story!!

*blushes* Awww thank you so much *hugs* I'm glad to be back on writing :) My musing had gone dead :( And I'll try to update Ever the same as soon as possible. I had a few college problems going on:(
John had always been a hard character for me to write. But I'm happy with this lil piece :)
:D Sam's scene is pretty much my fav :) He can be a big mother hen when Dean's hurt (I think Muffy rubbed on me a good one :D)

I absolutely love this story! It's so John, saving his gentleness and kind words until his boys are sleeping, and being proud of them in spite of his slight anger that they disobeyed his order to stay away. And I love seeing how John takes care of both of them after they've been hurt, for once being the father they need and giving them a chance just to relax and rest.

During quiet times, John did seem to soften a bit. John gently touching their faces as they sleep is a beautiful image of him as a loving father. And the salt line detail....perfect. Good job.
