Aw Dean. He noticed she cut her hair. I love this man. This was so intense I couldn't read fast enough. The entire chapter just flew by. And I think I held my breath the entire time.
And Beth! OMG she's evil. Loved the way Sam stood up for Dean there - reminded me of Croatoan and Dean doing the same for Sam. You write the brothers so well!
Author's Response: Beth actually surprised me. I didn't know she was going to wigg out on us until she did. If that makes any sense... I know I wrote her, but sometimes the patients take over the asylum, y'know? And yeah, I just think that Dean would notice something like that... he watches everything and sees more than (it seems) those closest to him (Sam) give him credit for.

Finally. I LOVE Brenna. Good boy, Sam, good boy. Another great chapter. Loved the fact that Dean is scared, can't fall asleep even though he's exhausted and should. You have set this all up so well. The nightmare witch is just brilliant. I am so impressed once again with your originality and creativity.
Author's Response: That's what I love about this genre. You're limited only by the scope of your imagination. And because (for the most part) the things they fight aren't real, you can manipulate the lore to suit your storytelling purpose. :)

A nightmare witch! As if nightmares don't plague these boys enough already. Poor Dean. You know exactly how to torture him. It's not the physical pain that will do him in, but the emotional worry for Sam that will break him before anything else. I could feel Dean's anguish so clearly. Once again this chapter was just heart wrenching. So filled with emotions from everyone. And your OCs are so believable. Excellent job.
Author's Response: I agree. Though I love (sick as that sounds) to see Dean fight through the pain to be the hero that he is, it's the pain inside that could potentially defeat him. *sigh*

Oh this just gets better and better. Selfless Dean is too much. I love how he puts Sam above everything, even though at the same time it annoys me to no end. Why can't he love himself as much as we love him. I loved the nightmare scene when Sam goes into Dean's room to sleep on the floor. Thank you for not having him get into bed with him. I've seen that done so many times, and it just would never happen. On the floor I could see. You really write beautifully, and it feels like I'm watching a movie.
Author's Response: Yeah -- I'm not down with the sharing a bed thing at this point in their lives. But I really get the need for closeness with the only person who has every been your protector... your anchor all of your life. My younger sister used to do this -- come into my room and sleep on my floor when she just needed to be close. And I agree -- it breaks my heart to see/hear how Dean doesn't see his own worth. GS

I have been waiting all day to get on here and read another one of your stories. This is a great beginning. I love all the little asides you have between the brothers, all the history you share as you go along. It's like reading a favorite book that you've read a million times, but every time you read it you learn something new, something you missed last time. I feel like I know the brothers from the show and your stories just help me get to know them better. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Author's Response: Oh thanks so much! I grinned at the book comment. I'm a big repeat reader -- if I love something, I will go back multiple times just to experience it again or see it with new eyes. So that was a very high compliment for me and I thank you sincerely. GS

I want to be Brenna *sigh* “You can’t quit what you were born to be.” That line...so, so true. Bravo. Way to weave a wonderful story!
Author's Response: Thanks so much for completing the story and for your kind reviews. It's late now, so before I face-plant on my keyboard, I'm heading to bed -- but I'll be looking you up tomorrow, sojourner84! GS

“Dean,” she said softly. “Sam is your innocence.” I love that line. I also loved how Dean is very much Dean in this story. He's stubborn. Fresh off a hunt with wounds and still trying to stand and tie his own boots. I love that! I am coming to the end of this wonderful fiction of yours. I am so happy that there are 2 more stories to move to after this. :) P.S. I started posting my own stuff on this site and would appreciate your opinion. Only if you have the time though. Now I'm off to read the last part...
Author's Response: OH! I will totally look you up! I've been trying to work my way through everyone, but I can't keep up -- so many great stories, so little time. You'll be next. And I really appreciate your chapter by chapter reviews. Thanks for the kudos on our favorite hero. Well... at least he's my favorite hero. I love Sam, but mainly because Dean isn't DEAN without Sam... ;)

“So,” Joss asked again. “Is. She. Gone?” Is she gaelicspirit? Is she!? 'Cause I see two more chapters. *laugh* Very exciting! I'm so glad Sam got to help out Dean.
Author's Response: Thanks! And I am not saying if she's gone or not... *winks* I'm so glad you're enjoying this! And no matter how much I love Dean, they boys are stronger as a team. So, Sam simply had to be part of the fight, y'know? Even if it was in Deans head... GS

Well I must say I found myself without breath there a few times...like the whole time. And Dean...they bound him to that freak because everyone thought he was taking the last freakin' train out!? *sigh* Don't declare the poor guy dead man walking until there's not a pulse. And even then, with Dean...I'm not so sure. Great work! Oh and long chapters are not a bad thing. *laugh* It just takes me a while to get through them. You said that you want to write for a living? I think that is wonderful. You definately have the talent.
Author's Response: Thanks so much for reading and the review! I know -- never count our boy out. He'll never stop fighting 'til the fights done. :) I'm really glad you're enjoying the stories -- and the long chapters. Looking forward to seeing what you think of the rest. GS

Exciting chapter. I'm trying to read through this whenever I get a chance. You have very long chapters. *laugh* But anyway, Dean is in some deep **** now...Like he wasn't before...but now...most definately yes. I really liked the scene with Sam and Dean toward the end, and the way Sam takes care of his brother. Very well done. :)
Author's Response: Thanks so much for keeping with it! I truly hope that when you get to the end it's been worth it for you. I know I have long chapters... I try to go shorter, but... I don't know that I have it in me... :) Thanks for saying you liked Sam taking care of his brother. I just see in my head that Dean has cared for Sam all of Sam's life... I want Dean to get a turn, y'know? Enjoy! GS

Poor Dean. Again, your ability to tell a story is amazing. Dean, sitting there spouting off Frost and Zeppelin...makes me smile.
Author's Response: I love this character. He just captivates me. Thanks for the storyteller comment. It's wonderful to hear that someone thinks you're good at the one thing you want to do in life...

AH! Okay, now I have to read the next chapter. Don't do that to my heart! Part that made me giggle: “Riggs.” Dean lifted an eyebrow. “That dude from Lethal Weapon?” I swear, one must be up on their pop culture to be a Winchester.
Author's Response: That's one of the things that I love about their banter... so witty. Thanks for the kudos... looking forward to what you think of the rest...

Ah! That was great. You can really tell a story. And Sam and Dean's interactions were spot on. Great job.
Author's Response: Thanks so much for reading! I'm glad you're enjoying it. :)

I read this story on ffnet and was captivated from the first words. I've gone back and read bits and pieces here; it's stil just as good
Author's Response: Oh thank you so much. :) I really appreciate you leaving a review here. And I'm glad that you liked this enough to re-read parts of it. Yay!! Cheers -- GS

Great! I really love your stories. I am never able to stop reading before the story is over. So I had three stlepness nights. Thanks for that!!! I like the idea that sometimes Sam is the protector and I wonder if he would be capable to shot the Coulees to save his brother. I also enjoy to read how the brothers interact with other human people not only with supernatural things. Hope you will continue writing.
Author's Response: OMG! You're my first review for this story! I was beginning to think no one on this site liked it. :) Thanks for reading it all the way through! Sorry for the sleepless nights... nah, I'm not. I'm actually thrilled that it held your attention like that. I love the brother's connection, devotion, all it, so thanks for commenting on that. I do plan to write more and hope to see you on a review page in the futre. :)
