Ooo! Answers! I love the Voudoun twist-or at least the Voudoun flavor. It makes the little details you threw in about the spell very rich. I really really hope it works! Sam's kind of spacing out and I want him to go faster and get things done in time!

I've always loved the impact of Voudoun in stories, and wanted to write one for a while so when this came up as a possibility for the spell, I was very happy! A beautiful dark chapter with some amazing brother moments, haunting, sad and also very lovely! Marie - who is a great character btw - exactly caught what happens here and the special way Sam and Dean are connected, "that they were losing one young man right before her eyes, something inside the nurse telling her the other would follow soon after", really feels they're drowning in this horror. Stunning!

You managed to have some great moments here for both of the boys. It was definitely some very intense reading. I can identify with Dean very much because I can't STAND being cold, and am right now wearing a big fleece jacket OVER my sweater. I couldn't imagine a worse fate, so reading about him shivering is just awful. I LOVE the nurse! She's got just the right combination of common sense, patience, motherliness, and compassion to make me very glad she's looking after those boys.

Wow, Dean seems to go from bad to worse, poor guy! I wonder what is wrong with him? Could it be something in the revenants bite? I hope Sammy can find something soon to help his brother. That seizure was scary.

Brutal! Gripping chapter, agonising to see what effect Dean's condition and violent seizures have on both brothers, some painful scenes you're giving us here and I'm not sure if either Dean or Sam can hold on much longer. The "other" Sam caused the infection and their hunt and Dean not breathing started the illness I think, but dear god what can they do, Dean's condition deteriorating further so fast. Quite afraid now Sam will have to face the revenants again to find a cure for Dean, right back to their worst nightmare! You will update soon, right? Please!

Very tense chapter! Seizures are so not good! I'm very worried about what's going on with Dean now. I was struck particularly by the seizure Dean had when Sam brought him into the ER. Sam and the doctor holding Dean down- the imagery was really good. I'm also glad Dean finally told Sam what happened. Keep up the good work!
Author's Response: Oh it's not good. Not good at all... That scene in the ER is actually one I've had hanging around or a while in a fic thaat stalled. I liked it and it fit so I cannibalised the original story! Glad you liked it, and Dean telling Sam what he had to do. That was a difficult scene to write. More next week! Cal

Uh oh! Has he got some kind of revenant infection? That kid bleeding into his open wound has done something to him, and "dying" after being lynched seems to have triggered it. Not looking good... Very much looking forward to the next chapter! Upwards and onwards!

Great talk Sam and Dean had in the car (perfect safe place and naturally a classic), very intense chapter! So glad Dean could open up a bit to Sam, Dean telling about the shape shifter an especially moving detail here, tragic story and another shadow on Dean's soul; I believe now more than ever Sam is the only one who can help Dean to find a way back, out of this darkness! Really, wow!

I love it that they have their own junked car as a hangout. Nice detail. I also really like the story of the shapeshifter. Maybe you need to expand on that in another story someday! I'm glad that Sam was finally able to get through to Dean a little bit. At least bridge the gap partway. Good chapter!
Author's Response: Soon as that image came to me I loved it - them sitting in a beat up, rusty old muscle car, kindof the antithesis of the Impala. And it just clicked as a place to bridge the gap, somewhere so much like their 'home'. I might play with the shapeshifter a little - hadn't really thought about it, but I might. I really enjoyed writing it - especially as I know what's coming up! - and after the last chapter. That was tough, Dean's confusion over which Sam was with him in that cellar, turning little Sam into a monster was less than pleasant, but I'm morbidly glad it made you shiver! Dark, desperate and haunting - "I can't kill you again. You won't, Sam soothed, feeling his heart break as Dean leant in to him, still whispering vaguely. I promise". Great characterisations, gripping chapter!!!

You have no idea how I waited for this to continue and as expected it is leading us to immeasurable darkness, fantastic! What Dean had to endure is harrowing and Sam will have to fight with all his heart and soul to bring his brother back from this nightmare, enthralling and breathtaking start!
