I must admit it was Dean's tear that was my undoing watching this episode. Always sacrificing for everyone, especially those he loves most. Beautifully done.
Author's Response: Me too, absolutely. JA always does me in with the one lone tear, altho Jared slayed me with his onslaught of tears. No wonder Jared teased Jensen about stealing his scene! Dean is such an amazing character and his continual sacrifice for Sammy is so noble, but tragic. Lovely to know the older stories still have life. Take care, B.J.

Wow. You sure packed a huge bundle of emotion into this story! I had to stop and get a box of Kleenex before settling down to write this review. I really liked the use of present tense -- it really makes it sing. I'm really enjoying your writing. Thanks for sharing. --c
Author's Response: Thanks you so much! That episode was packed with so much emotion and I really just wanted to continue on exploring how much Dean tries to keep Sam from feeling the pain that he himself is so used to experiecing. Glad to hear you enjoy my writing. As a new writer that is most appreciated. Thanks again, B.J.

OK, how to respond...first, I have to breathe...Usually reviews flow from my fingertips but this one is so emotional that I'm struggling, except yes, yes, yes!!! I saw everything you wrote here in that one tear of Dean's. Your description of Sammy's absolute devastation from Dean's pov was stunning. And how clever to write a chronological order of events in the boys lives which leads to this one monumental moment. The same fears, tears, anguish, regret and sorrow all in rehersal for this one event with blows the lid off the guage. I love your work, you know how I feel about your fics, but this one is extraordinary, it really got under my skin. I'll be mulling this one over for days! I am in love with this fic and in awe of your ability to write it.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! Heart simply tore my heart out, between Jared and Jensen's amazing acting and the whole history of Dean always looking out for Sammy and not being able to stop this pain. Supernatural is such an emotional journey with every brotherly moment and to get the chance to explore that further thru my fics is a tremendous joy. And then to know my stories affect others as the show affects me is just perfect. Thanks again! Take care, B.J.

I really, really enjoyed this! Heart was one of my favourite episodes, it was so heart-breaking and beautiful. You portrayed both the boys very well. It's so sweet how Dean always trys to protect Sammy from everything, awww!
Author's Response: Thank you. I love when stories that have been out there awhile get a new review. Yes, Heart was a heart-breaker. Seeing Sammy cry is harder on Dean than dealing with his own considerable pain. Gotta love the big brother moments. Take care, B.J.

Those stories about the dogs and Dean purposely losing rock, paper, scissors... Really great work!
Author's Response: Thanks. I know how hard it is for me to lose a dog, and I think Dean is also very sensitive. Even though he appears tough, he really is just protecting his heart, just like he tries to protect Sammy. Since Sam always knew what Dean would pick in RPS, it stands to reason that Dean also always knew what Sammy picked. Dean ain't stupid! LOL Thanks for reviewing, B.J.

wow!!!! this one is really great!!!! You really got both Sammy and Dean to the T!!!! Sammy, allways wanting to help and trying to see the good of everyone, and Dean, of course, Dean protecing his younger brother and wanting to shield him from all the pain.... Congratullations, I wisj I could write like you ~kika
Author's Response: Thanks kika, I feel like I "get" Dean the best, but it is always great to hear that readers think I capture Sammy. These are such unique, fascinating characters and I totally enjoy trying to figure them out. So glad you enjoyed my story. Thanks, B.J.

The flashbacks to the stray dogs were cool. Kinda symbolic of the stray wolf.
Author's Response: Exactly, and also how Sammy tries to look for the good and make a connection, and Dean is stuck with the reality, knowing they're just going to die and having to deal with that pain again. Then of course, Dean overlooking his own needs and trying to give Sammy what he wants, but never being able to spare him the pain. Thanks for reviewing, always appreciate hearing comments. Take care, B.J.

Have mercy woman - that was beautiful! I absolutely loved it that Dean deliberately lost scissors, paper, rock, but the poor guy can't catch a break can he? How many new girlfriends turn out to be werewolves?? That was wonderful, thank you
Author's Response: I always say, Dean is not dumb and he loves Sammy above all else. It just made sense to me that he would try to give Sammy what he now seemed ready for, but heaven forbid he let his brother think he let him win. Sammy really has all the reason in the world to believe he is cursed after this last tragedy. Poor boy. Man, these Winchesters just keep getting more grief piled on them. Thanks again, B.J.

Gah.....aawwwww.....beautiful!
Author's Response: Thanks so much. That was a stunning episode with so much real pain and insight into both Sam and Dean. It just hung on with me and I needed to explore it more.

Awesome tag BJ - Lots of emotion and I just love the stories about the dogs. Great job!
Author's Response: Thanks so much! Honestly, I wasn't sure if this story worked or not. So glad you like it. Later, B.J.

Awesome! You've captured exactly what I was thinking. It is Sammy's pain more than anything that guts Dean. I love the dogs. My Dad was the same way. He loved pets but couldn't bear it when they died.
Author's Response: Oh, thank you! Yes, Dean manages to handle his own considerable pain, but dealing with Sammy's pain is unbearable for him. Yes, a sensitive heart finds losing a pet unbearable too. They become a part of your family and it is so hard to let them go. Take care, B.J.
