Kristen,

i hope there is going to be a part 2 to this story.

Renee

Author's Response:

Working on it now! Should post soon!

It would have ended up too long, I thought, so I broke it up.

Awesome way to end this first part of the story (and I count on reading the sequel very soon, you know you can't leave it here!!) with the angels debating on our groups' destination - instantly became fond of Raphael ("they grow on you", so nice!), not so sure about Ariel (she's Isabel's guide I'm afraid) though, it scares me she so strongly believes Sam is an evil menace that has to be stopped and a "threat to us all, but especially to Dean". Hope Castiel will be right that "it is his brother that will save him"! Can't wait, thanks for an amazing read!!

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for your kind reviews!  I'm glad someone else enjoyed the story. I almost didn't post...

I'm working on the second part now & will post soon.

And, no, of course I wouldn't leave it like that! ;o)

Lots and lots of angst, very tense atmosphere and more revelations about Sam's and Dean's role in this game and it's hugeness is scary, Dean destined to be the world's savior and Sam in high danger to be killed for using his powers! Personally fully understood Sam - the demon's words were unbelievable cruel and venomous - and felt very uncomfortable with Isabel's rather fanatic attitude (fortunately Layla is the one who is with Dean right now!); actually won't calm down until Sam and Dean are together again (while repeating "this is not a death fic" like a mantra). I'll try to be prepared for the final round, wonder if the battle takes place at the Fountain. Fantastic chap!!!

Author's Response: Thanks! I promise I'll reunite the brothers shortly but you know it's never easy for them!

Oh no!!! How come chapter 17 and 18 are repeats of 15 and 16? Is there an end to this?

Author's Response:

Could you explain what you mean, please?

But yes, the next chapter is the last.

OMG, actually a bit at loss of words here (very glad though you assured this is not a death fic, started to panic a bit!); anyway, breathtaking chapter. The moment Dean fell and Sam was so devastated, thinking he failed his brother again was heartbreaking. And now Isabel was charged with killing Sam, what a desperate situation! You will update soon, right? Please, cause I really have to know what happens. Thanks for another great read!!!

Author's Response:

Wow, I really didn't think I'd panic anyone but I put the warning there just in case! lol

I'm toying with the idea of posting again today or tomorrow rather than waiting. But there's only two more chapters & this one's done; some things will be left for the next part.

Part 2 will shortly follow!

An action filled chapter, aah enjoyed it, great to see how they complement each other; funny ("Can't handle the awesomeness" :))!) and exciting. So good to have the old cocky and flirting Dean back here. Definitely "nice work"! Can't wait for the update!!

Author's Response:

Once again, thanks!

Only 2 more chapters left & the next one is a cliffie.  Bad pun, that. You'll see what I mean in a few days!

You bet this worked, I'm nearly out of my mind after reading this chapter - "Whoever can control this one, Matt continued, can control what gets out of Hell. Whoever controls this pool is guaranteed a place of power...And you two blokes are gonna help us get it." We're right at the core of things and everything is at stake now, grand!

Author's Response: You are too kind! Thanks!

This scary situation reminded me a lot of Dean's chess dream (I could be totally wrong here, but I can't help it); adding crazy Fred to this "game" Sam, Dean and the sisters (the Blades and the Vessels, brilliant!) need to be ingenious tacticians and fighters to survive this, really wow!

Author's Response:

You're not totally wrong at all!  I meant for the imagery to stick. There's a method to my madness...somewhere 'round here...

Thanks for reading!

Gripping chapter, our four are in big trouble now!! Great club scenes of the two couples, so differerent and yet so connected, marvellously written!

Author's Response: Thanks!

Lot's of suspense and some fascinating revelations about the Blade and Vessel in this chapter (comes in pairs, huh?); a highly enjoyable talk about their hunts and again, really like the chemistry between Dean and Layla. Can't wait for the next installment!

And MacGyver definitely is nothing but cool!

Author's Response:

Thanks!

And you're right about Mac!

Dean's chess dream was brilliant, much more than a dream considering the demons' talk before, the Blade and the Vessel come as a pair, scary prospects for our group!!! Very nice bedroom scene, enjoyed Dean and Isabel, but especially Dean later telling Sam "I'll tell you what I got faith in, Sammy...You and me. That's all I need." This faith and trust will be essential for their fight! Great one - and yep, it's Silent Lucidity, perfect choice!

Author's Response: Thanks for sticking with it!

Graphic scenes when the girls patched Dean up, enjoyed though (the leeches - "I think I might be sick", nice). Most of all I liked the dream-connection part and the sisters' story, so fascinating! The line at the end of  this chapter, answering Sam's question who the sisters serve, "Looking up at her, Sam could see the light from the living room lamp reflected off her pale eyes, a dozen little stars twinkling in an early morning sky" was simply wonderful, perfect! More please!

Author's Response: Thanks so much! Getting close to the end of part one!

great story, looking forward to the next chapter!

Author's Response: Thanks! Glad you're enjoying it so far!

Just wow, this is gonna be one of my favorite chapters, had everything, a breathtaking encounter with the demon and some stunning revelations about the brothers' fate, their fear (brilliant sequence!) and the fallout of Dean's deal and everything so perfectly dovetails with the case! Couldn't enjoy it more!

Author's Response: Thank you very  much!

Reviewer: bia1007 (Signed) · Date: 16/02/09 04:09 AM · On: Don't Rely On Open Eyes to See

If possible I'm even more intrigued now, fascinating mysterious atmosphere in this chapter, there's a lot more behind Layla (her eyes, wow) and her sister (and actually I like Layla more and more, her comments about faith and her grief about her brother, so tragically connecting the sisters with our boys); the appearance of the demons in the bar was more than creepy, they are major players in this game! Really dying to know how this continues!

Think the song you're looking for is Silent Lucidity by Queensryche, one of my favs by the way, the line is "If you open your mind for me/You won't rely on open eyes to see/The walls you built within/Come tumbling down, and a new world will begin." So enjoy the way you connect the songs with the story!

Author's Response:

Ah ha!  I figured it had to be one of the songs from the show.  It's one of my faves, too.

Thanks for hanging in there! I'm glad someone's enjoying the reading as much as I like the writing.

Brilliant chapter, first Sam's fascinating reflections about their faith and his powers, his hope for salvation, especially for Dean (totally lovely), leading to the wonderful talk with Brandon (cool kid) and his mom; you portrayed their beliefs in a very sensitive way, enjoyed this part a lot. The hot "angel" with the grey eyes, well that's an interesting hint!! And you had one of the nicest bitch-jerk exchanges ever in this chapter, extra thanks for that!

Author's Response: You sure are nice to me! I wasn't sure how this one would work but I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Reviewer: bia1007 (Signed) · Date: 05/02/09 01:33 PM · On: I Love to Watch a Woman Dance

Dean's and Layla's ("Had you on your knees, did I?", loved it) banter and mix was so cool, a very fast and witty exchange, they have a lot in common, enjoyed this endlessly (aah, and Xena, nice!). Definitely like this turn of events and I'm looking forward to see how these four will work together; great chap! And you are right, it's an Eagles's tune (Long Road Out of Eden), fits so well!

Author's Response: Oh, thanks for giving me the song title!  I found so many lyrics to use, I knew I would forget some.

Reviewer: bia1007 (Signed) · Date: 03/02/09 01:57 PM · On: The Sounds of a Switchblade and a Motorbike

The plot really is tightening, the demon brothers, especially Grant are downright scary and they are after Sam and Dean! Very much enjoyed when our guys tailed the sisters (twins, intriguing!), just loved the cat-part and it seems Sam came off better than Dean for the moment (I do like Isabel, hope I'm right about her). And again, everything is so well balanced here, showing it is not just a hunt, it's so much about Sam and Dean and the aftermath of what they have been through, you had a very special line in this chapter about Sam's feelings to it, "He missed the small things sometimes but not enough to give up his brother. The Library of Congress couldn't compare with that." Perfect!

Author's Response: Thanks! I hope the rest satisfies, too!

Reviewer: bia1007 (Signed) · Date: 31/01/09 01:25 PM · On: Those Who Fear Are Lost

This was a deep and painful insight into Dean's world after hell, the nightmares overshadowing his life to an alarming extent. Very glad Sam is aware, I have a hunch it will be important for them to come through this case. Intense and oppressive atmosphere, great!

Author's Response: Thanks! I'm wasn't sure how that would come across so I'm glad to hear it worked. ~K

Nearly missed this story and what a shame this would have been, it's fantastic! I absolutely love the way you are using the sibling theme here, so eerie and thrilling, also enjoy how Sam and Dean interact (the wonderful humour mixed with their deep fears, great). Can't wait to find out what's behind the mysterious girl.

Author's Response: Hope the mysterious girl works out. I rather like her! I couldn't help the snarky stuff. I find Dean just too witty & naughty that way!
