Don't even know where to start to tell you how fantastic this story was!! As much as I want to know more about the time following the ritual (really hope there will be a sequel!!) I do totally agree with you, that this story is complete, round in every respect. Once more Maggie's view was captivating, giving us this very genuine and haunting view of Sam as the forlorn and lost man he was without his brother, driven by grief and despair, willing to do everything to bring Dean back. The fiddler part was simply breathtaking, very Poe-like atmosphere, incredibly intense! Excellent, great writing!!!

Thank you!  I appreciate hearing that!

Aw, I absolutely loved this story! The ritual was creepy as hell and the broken Sam is so well described, especially being seen through Maggie's eyes.

I really liked hearing about all the lore. Y'know there is an Icelandic story about a man who bested the devil by reciting poetry...

Author's Response: I get a little bit geeky about the folklore.  It's the storyteller in me- now I want to hear your Icelandic story!  I'm so glad you liked it.  Thanks!

Wow, this is interesting. I love outsider pov stories and Maggie's a very likable character. I loved the "if I'd been smart..." comment, and the last sentence was perfect.

Author's Response: I'm glad you're liking the story.  Thank you!

Already intrigued by the title (I strongly connect the brother's bond with some of these figures like Orpheus or Castor and Pollux, so wow!!) I was rewarded with this amazing story! Just love the POV, Maggie is a wonderful narrator, it's fantastic, so well written. I'm literally pulled in! The linkage of the terrible time Dean was in hell and the memories of the time the boys left a trace in Maggie's life is so well balanced and draws a perfect picture of these exceptional brothers; can't wait for the update!!!

Author's Response: Wow!  Thank you so much for the great review!  This is an idea I've been playing with for a long time, and it was very fun to write.
