I HAVE read this one! It was for the sensue awards! It absolutely deserved the nomination and the win! Of course, I hadn't seen anything of you on this site when I read it. Now that I have commented on everything, I have to say that it has been an absolute pleasure reading your stories and getting to know you even a little bit. I'm glad you posted here. Thank you! Julie

Dean hadn’t opened his eyes yet, still hoping against hope that a sinkhole would open and swallow him. What? Weirder things had happened. Especially in their line of work. - hehehe, ain't that the truth. Great story - ;) Kel

OMG! Beth!!! That is... wow. WOW. Amazing. It was beautiful and sad and happy and heart-warming and - all at once. Excellent job. I love it.

Awww, this is so sweet. I love the stories that give Sammy and us a better idea of how special his childhood was, and all the big things and little things that Dean did for him when they were kids. I also like that you showed that John wasn't all hunter, all the time. It reminds me of what YED told John in IMTOD, "If only your boys knew how much their daddy loved them." Awewsome! Sue
Author's Response: Hey, Sue! Thank you, so much, for the great review! I really appreciate you coming over to check this story out. It was my very first fanfic, so it always holds a special place in my heart. I love to write stories that show all the things Dean did for Sammy when they were kids. And I do think John loved his boys and had good intentions, even if he didn't always give them what they needed. I tried to show that in several of the Thanksgiving one-shots, too. I'm really glad you liked this one! Thanks for letting me know what you thought! :)

Another beautifuly written story, we know John tried but Dean was more of a dad to Sam.
Author's Response: Hey there! I'm so happy you decided to check this story out. Thanks for letting me know what you thought of it, it means a lot to me! :)

Aww God, Beth - that was awesome. Seriously enjoyed reading it. Made me laugh, made me want to cry... awesome job! "Just little pieces of their history, preserved for a day when they might want to look back at them. Preserved against a day when the man who packed them away wouldn’t be there anymore."-This part really make me choke up, poor boys.
"It wasn’t that Dean wasn’t smart; he was one of the smartest people Sam knew. He just had the attention span of a five-year-old on a sugar high. " - And that is so hilariously true. It's the perfection description of Dean and his smarts!! ^_^ And now I'm skipping over to fanfic to read your other one. :D
Author's Response: Awww, thanks Rae, for the rating and the lovely review. It's so sweet of you to take the time to read and let me know what you thought. I'm so glad you liked it, and that it struck an emotional chord. I'm especially glad you liked the quote about Dean's smarts, it made me giggle when I wrote it. Look forward to hearing your thoughts on the others. Thanks again! :)

This was such a sweet story, and filled in nicely as a possible tag to Bad Day At Black Rock. I did wonder what else might have been in John's storage facility, squirrelled away from prying eyes. Lol - trust Dean to want the landmines, though. And the quiet moment spent reading the comics was sweet. I loved the little tussle over the book - Dean trying to get it away from Sam before inquisitive little brother found out the truth. You did Sam's sheer stunned disbelief so well, and Dean's chagrin and wanting to sink through the floor before Sam turned it into a "moment" was priceless. This was really well written, a very sweet slice of life, and it really deserves its nomination in Sensue's Fanfic Awards. I hope that you do extremely well in the voting. Jules
Author's Response: Hey, Jules! Wow, thank you for the incredibly kind review you left for this story. It means more to me than I can say. And for the rating--it means so much, knowing you don't often do them. Thank you!! I was completely astounded to find out something of mine had been nominated for the People's Choice Awards. Thank you for the well-wishes, and again, thanks for reading and reviewing!! You're quickly becoming one of my favorite people. ;) LOL

Ok, that was just precious. Sugar-coated, sweet-toothed to the point of aching, PRECIOUS. Loved every inch of it. :)
Author's Response: Hey there! Thank you for taking the time to read my first ever fanfic, and for the kind things you said about it. It really means a lot to me that you liked it so much! I hope you'll check out some of my other stories if you have time. Thanks again, you made my day!! :)

I've read your wonderful story before but couldn't remember the title, so I'm more than happy I found it again! It expresses in such a lovely way the exceptional role Dean played in Sam's life, a real parent (and Sam couldn't have wished for a better one), sparing no effort to support the person he loves most. Also it was very Dean he didn't feel too comfortable about Sam finding out, very sweet and humble. Loved Sam for not letting it pass and he did thank Dean ("A lifetime's worth of love and devotion and self-sacrifice. Sam felt a rush of love for his big brother and seriously considered risking his life and limb to give him a hug." - perfect!). Thank you so much for writing!!
Author's Response: Awww, thank you for taking the time to leave such an incredible review for my story. I'm glad you found it again too! I think you're totally right--Dean did play an important parental role in Sam's life--and I love fics where Sam recognizes that. So glad this one worked for you. Thanks for reading!!

"He gestured helplessly, thinking of a young Dean reading the book so carefully, highlighting the parts that seemed important, dog-earing pages with activities he could use as "games" with a young Sammy". So, I started crying from then on. Loved it. Just beautiful.
Author's Response: Wow, what a lovely review. Thank you, so much, for letting me know that it touched you. It really means a lot to me!

Hiya, Beth. Just wanted to say hi and give you a little welcome. So welcome to Supernaturalville. :-) Glad to see you've joined the family over here. And this was a great story to start with. Vanessa
Author's Response: Hey, Ness! Bless you for the welcome and the rating!! I don't know anyone over here, so I don't know if anyone will read/review my stuff, but some friends were urging me to post, so I thought I'd give it a shot. :) I'm so relieved not to have "0" next to the review number. LOL Thanks again! Beth
