A great start! Poor Dean, the kid tries so hard and asks for so little but I know you have something wonderful planned for the Winchesters. Charles was absolutely beautiful. I laughed my ass off. If I were in the same position, I'd offer the boys my room. Of course, I'd have to sleep between them so it wouldn't be awkward for them. ;) Too bad I have to go to work and won't be able to finish this till later. *heavy sigh*
Author's Response: Hey Shannon. Heehee, funny Jane and I re-read this at Christmas just past and I have to say we still liked it a lot. :0) I love Charles too. He was just a little cameo character but if you do manage to stick with it you'll get to know a bit more about him later on. Thanks for reading and especially for reviewing. Much appreciated as always B xxx

Oooh, there's going to be a sequel? Goodie! I totally wasn't expecting the demon stuff to creep into this, it was quite a surprise. I won't mind seeing more of Evie, though. So these figures at the end--Castiel and Uriel?? Or someone else? Nice wrap up chapter, and I'm glad the boys got a nice Christmas together after all they'd been through. :)

This was a wonderful detail, just the type of thing to go through a Winchester's mind, even when some good fortune finally does find them: "he looked round the room with obvious unease, wondering idly if there was enough salt in the whole of Bethlehem to protect all the windows and doors." LOL
And this made me laugh: "levering himself gingerly across and into the Yuletide edition of Pimp My Ride." Love the description of the Christmas Chariot. LOL

Another nice chapter. I'm so glad Evie finally got her husband's letter, and Dean and she got a few moments to talk. Also glad Dean got patched up. This was sweet: "Sorry, bro. It's just, if I know how to do it better they're less likely to pull out next time." Love Sam's earnest desire to learn everything he could so he'd be able to patch his brother up better next time.
Author's Response: Jane and I just want to say thank you so so much for reviewing each chapter. It is really kind and thoughtful of you and we really appreciate it. Bev and Jane xx

Aww, this was a great chapter. Really heartwarming, to see Evie and Charles reaching out to those less fortunate for the holiday (and Dean and Sam get to experience some genuine kindness from others). It's perfect that the woman running the diner ended up being just who they needed to meet up with.
Author's Response: Hey Hunny. We too grew to love Charles and Evie and it felt good to give the boys a bit of care and compassion. Jane and Bev xxx

Another fun chapter, the boys getting saved by Rudolph, an explanation for the stables, a visit by Bambi...and Chris Kringle, the shepherd! LOL
Author's Response: Yes we did manage to cram virtually every Christmas cliche into this chapter, didn't we? hey subtlety is over rated! Jane and Bev xx

Wow, great chapter. Ties up the mystery very nicely.
Author's Response: The hiker became a lot more pivotal than we first imagined, glad it worked for you. Jane and Bev x

""Mmmh. Gimme a minute, babe." He mumbled, softly, turning his head and nuzzling gently at the hairy face. It was the prickling whiskers followed by the dainty hooves scrabbling at his ribs that filtered through into his sub consciousness, alerting him to the fact that his current bed companion was perhaps a little below his normal standards." Hilarious! I cracked up at this. Love the little switch you did with the sign of the star leading them home, it being the literal sign. And how lucky that they'd parked so close to the hiker's grave!
Author's Response: Heehee we're glad that gave you a smile and that you're stil enjoying the story. Jane and Bev x

I think this is my favorite chapter yet. I really love the boys bunking down in the stables--and what a blessing that it's so incredibly well-stocked! And I was right about the Christmas Hiker--he's not evil, after all!
Author's Response: Yes Jane's got them in the stable and if we don't watch her will be undressing them again! And yeah...he's not evil at all! Many thanks for reviewing, we really appreciate it. Jane and Bev xx

"Twisting onto his side he clenched himself into a ball, desperately trying to avoid the panicked hooves of the distressed Jenny." Okay, I was a little confused for a second here. I thought the donkey's name was Raptor. Great chapter. As I've been suspecting for a little while now, the Christmas hiker seems not to be evil (though why did he throw Dean off the cliff in the beginning, if so?). It seems like he wants the boys to do something--maybe salt and burn his bones so he can rest. Still really intriguing.
Author's Response: Hey Hun. You're totally right the donkey is called Raptor...'Jenny' is the generic term for a female donkey. Ah yes the Christmas Hiker...perhaps not really as he seems? Jane and Bev xx

Aww, the donkey is cute. Scared of the ghost, and of course it would be comforted by Dean. Sweet.
Author's Response: Ahhh Raptor the donkey. She's a sweetheart and sooo in love with Dean...but then aren't we all? Jane and Bev xx

Very creative, how you keep coming up with Christmas saves. Nicely done! I kept waiting for Sam to go back for Cupid, but they made it through without his help, LOL. Love the idea of the boys in a little snow and spruce shelter, waiting out the storm. Great chapter!
Author's Response: Hun. You have no idea how long it took me to pursuade Jane out from under that tree! Hsaha Bev and Jane xx

Sneaky Sam, going off to look for the grave on the sly. LOL Man, Dean is really getting the crap beat out of him. Holy cow.
Author's Response: Hey Hun. Ahh but then there are few people that are such fun to beat the crap out of! Heehee Thanks for reviewing, much appreciated. Jane and Bev xx

This made me laugh: "Sam was genuinely bemused and, if he was honest, a little put out that an icon of Christmas peace like the Robin would, for no apparent reason, turn all ‘Jason Voorhees' on him and attack without warning." LOL And I forgot to say in the earlier chapters that there were some really beautifully written descriptions. Excellent work.
Author's Response: Hey Hun. we're real glad we made ya giggle! It was a real laugh to write (80000 words in about 6 weeks!) But we laughed ourselves silly for most of it. Bev and Jane xxx

Man, Dean's poison ivy experience sounds completely horrific. I love stories where the boys are out in the wilderness--especially when it's cold out--so I have to say, I'm loving this! It's the perfect thing to put me in the Christmas spirit.
Author's Response: Hey Hun. We're real pleased that its getting you into the Christmas groove! humming jingle bells as I type... Bev and Jane xxxx

Ooh, I love a hypothermic, semi-delusional Dean, so this was a terrific chapter. I'm really enjoying the story so far!

Congrats on the nomination in the UnGen awards this year! Great set up for a story. Love that there's no room for the boys in the Inn and they have to stay in the stables. *snickers* That's great!
Author's Response: Hey BHoney. Thank you very much we are delighted by the surprise nomination. More silliness (much more!) to come. Hope you have time to read and that you enjoy the rest. Many thanks for reviewing. Jane and Bev xxxxxx

Well, I got sidetracked, but I'm still reading this, slowlly. I liked this chapter, and Dean's empathy with the phantom hiker. I've thought about your favorite owie request for the sequel;-) Well, probably my favorite hurt is amnesia, but that should be a focal point of the story, not just a one-chapter thing. Since I doubt you're looking for something so major now, how about a little temporary blindness? It's a way to injecdt vulnerability into any character, even a Winchester. And, hey, this should be your 100th review of this story, now that's a fine milestone! Congratulations! Sue

Oh, another nice chapter! Great dialogue, and you're gradually rounding out the Phantom hiker into something to be reckoned with. Loved the ass/donkey exchange, can just hear the boys' voices saying that in my head while I read it. Sue
Author's Response: Hey again sweety. Real glad our boys sounded like the boys you know and love. And yes the phantom hiker is becoming a bit more rounded, we hope you enjoy him. Many thanks for reviewing us. Bev and Jane xx

I liked this, a flashback save. Hey, you were doing injuries by request? Darn, I wish I'd been reading this around Christmastime! Still enjoying this, even though I'm way behind the season, doing some reading catch-up. Off to the next chapter! Sue
Author's Response: Hey hun. We are pleased you liked it and would have been happy to try and include your fav injury! What would it be? We can maybe shoehorn it into the sequel (we've written the first few chapters, its a bit less seasonal but hopefully entertaining) Many thanks for reviewing. Jane and Bev xx

Another fun chapter-I'm so glad the boys finally made it back to relative safety and that ghost left them in peace for a bit. Still not sure about the ghost- if it's a sinister entity it seems to have thawed slightly to allow them some rest. Not sure how Dean's going to manage with both legs having received some mangling now! I loved their discovery at the end of their Christmas tree shelter.
Author's Response: Hey Alison. Can you imagine how much trouble I had getting Jane out from under that tree? hahahahaha Bev and Tree-lover Jane xx

Love the little boy hurt Dean and Sam acting the protective brother. Doesn't sound good if Dean's memories on the fritz! I wondered if you would spifflicate Sam as well as damage Dean! Poor boys- not at all the time of year for a dip. The image of the inflatable reindeer had me sniggering and I liked the build up from the "sad family's loss" to the its rescuing the Winchesters.
Author's Response: Hey Hun. Heehee, isn't that reindeer just a sweetheart? Hang in there hun i think we whallop Sammy a wee bit too before the end! Jane and Bev xx

Ah, poor Dean feeling so bad about not giving Sam the perfect Christmas and he's obviously ready for me to provide some much needed TLC! I think I prefer a traditional (edible yule log) and the boys would probably agree with me I'm really enjoying this- not sure what it says about me as the Winchesters continue to descend further into pain and misery...
Author's Response: Hey Alison. Thanks for reviewing hunny much appreciated. Umm yeah chocolate yule logs are nice but so are Winchester ones! Jane and Bev xx
