Jules, the way you write Dean is perfect.

I loved this story. Dean's teasing Sam and then "the day after" when he asked for the extra condom back and Sam said there wasn't one.

Loved Dean's reaction: "That's my boy!"

I couldn't stop laughing. Loved this story.

Author's Response:

Thanks Laina,

I just really wanted to write some down-time. I think I was intrigued by what could go on between hunts. I know we miss out on a lot of the good stuff off-camera, so to speak, because this isn't The Truman Show after all, so this was my way of taking a peek "behind the curtain".

So I was determined to have a little fun with it while I was there - lol. And Dean getting a little double-meaning in there when describing the way to make the perfect cappuccino - I have to admit, I snickered my way through that scene - lol.

Thanks so much.

"Christo"!  hahaha!! I nearly fell off my chair!

You really do have their personalities down good!  I can totally envision their body language and bitch faces!  It's great!

Author's Response:

Thanks for that, Leslie,

It's probably very anal, but usually when I'm plotting a story, I'll sit down and watch the episodes either side of when my fic is set, to make sure I've got the boys' head spaces right for that time period. And I study their body language very carefully - those two convey more with a look and a gesture than they do with mere words.

Ah, you liked the suspect domestic demon, eh? Have to confess, if there was an ironing demon, I wouldn't mind it coming to my house to do my ironing....especially if it looked like Dean....*sigh*

Thanks again for letting me know what you thought.

Oh wow, jeez! I'm so glad Sam got laid! Twice! And that part at the end was....that was kinda dirty missy! ;D

Author's Response:

Heh - it was rather naughty, wasn't it? Who knew that making the perfect cappuccino could be so...stimulating...LOL.

So glad you liked this one, too. Well, you have been hoovering them up, haven't you? And yep, Sammy got laid - twice....at least, twice that we know of - *winks*...

Sweet. And welcome. Year four is really depressing, and while I prefer dark stories, I like to be reminded what makes life worth living for our boys, as well. They really have been handed the 'dead man's hand',haven't they? I know Sam really doesn't do 'casual' sex comfortably, that's absolutely in character for him. But this felt right, and something he needed. Thanks. Especially since she was not the kind of girl Dean picks up in bars. (Not that there is anything wrong with that. It would just be too out of character for him, and would leave him feeling guilty.) We all know Dean is too much the gentleman to take advantage of a woman who didn't want to be taken advantage of, but Sam doesn't have his ability to separate sex from caring. Sorry it took me so long to find this story.

Author's Response:

Thanks for that, Rahne. Yes, season 4 is frightnening in its intensity - things don't look good for the boys. I feel that Sam is being slowly backed into a corner with the use of his powers, and I don't think Ruby has his best interests at heart as she pretends. And Dean has come back still bearing heavy scars from his torture in Hell - sort of like a Vietnam veteran, for want of a better analogy.

And I agree - Sam has to care about someone first. It's not about the release of tension, or gratification. It's a sharing.

So happy that you liked this. And yep, I needed a break from the angst as well. Thank so much for reading.....Jules

I started this one over Xmas break and finished it today- and I loved it.  The brotherly banter- fears and women!~

I also love that big brother did get Sam to loosen up a bit at the end!  :0) Gidget

Author's Response:

Thanks, Claudia.

I needed a break from the season 4 angst, and this was it. And I've always been curious to see what the boys do when they're not hunting. There are so many little scenes that we don't see on the screen, but that we wished we did see. You catch hints of it, so I just let my imagination do the rest.

And it was good for Sam to let his hair down, so to speak - that boy is way too intense....Jules

Ah,,,,just perfect Jules....now that you've given Fredo and her coffee shop props, I'm gonna have to suggest an overworked Mom gets her chance ;)  How 'bout it???   LOL...catch you on the next one - Kel ;)

Author's Response:

LOL - I'll give it careful consideration, my friend. So glad you enjoyed this little romp - and what a romp it turned out to be, especially for Fredo - lol.

Will definitely catch you on the next one, hon - it's coming soon....Jules

"Put a little froth on your cappuccino, huh?"-  hehehehe, gotta love the subtlety - Kel ;)

Author's Response: Thanks for that, Kel. That line was written very early in the piece - I just love Dean's quirky sense of humour, and I use it where I can....Jules

Hahaha WOW Dean worked hard.

Can I be Lucie?  I may not know that much about coffee but I can show hime how to make a damn fine capuccino.

Excellent read Jules!  Poor Sam with his clown issues.  But I'm glad he had a good time haha.

Take a break, but I'm looking forward to your next project.

:)

Author's Response:

Sorry hon, but Fredo is Lucie - that spot was taken before the story got posted - LOL!

Yes, I think there will be a few of us lining up for "coffee".... Thanks for that - and great to see you back on the boards hon. Hope to chat with you soon...Jules

OMG when dean started explaining how to make a "cappacino" i had to glide past it and not read it i was laughing so much. girl you are good

kiara

Author's Response:

Thanks, Kiara. I was a bit naughty there. But I just couldn't resist. And I could just imagine Sam's face getting redder by the second.

Thanks hon......Jules

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for that. I was gob-smacked. Being up against all those top authors - I still can't quite get over it. Just to be nominated was a huge honour. My gosh, some of my all-time heroes were on that list.

Happy New Year and thanks for another wonderful story. This was just so perfect. Seeing the boys relax was fun yet it was so great to see how Dean once again took care of his little brother. I loved how he teased Sam and choose his close for him, then even ironed them. And Sam's reactions, his total embarassment were so funny. The thing with the two small dark blue packages and how Dean ask him about it the next morning and the details on the perfect way to froth milk for a cappuccino, no that was the cream on top of it. It really made me smile. You made it funny but in a very tasteful way and the same how you dealt with the actual dates. There was some very tasteful erotic in there without going into the actual details. I know exactly why I love your writing so much. Hope your 2009 will be filled with everything you want and plenty of ideas so we can be part of your genius. And by the way, congrats to winning the award. Hugs, Vonnie

Author's Response:

And Happy New Year to you, too Vonnie. Thank you so much for that.

It was good to see what the boys get up to in their down-time. And I'm so thrilled that you loved the little scenes like the "ahem" little blue packets and their use, and the ironing.

Oh, and the perfect way to froth a cappuccino was the cream on top? ROFL!!!!  Seriously, though, I had a great time pushing that little moment out to the nth degree without going over the line. I always think that if you have every single detail, it isn't quite as sexy as letting your imagination run riot.

And thank you - I'm stunned at the win, actually. It took me about ten minutes to actually reply to the email notification - lol...Jules

Certainly enjoyed this particular "fallout" a lot. Marvellous story, I had a smashing time, thank you so much for it!!! Oh, and there are some quotes here I just can't wait to use...:))

Author's Response:

Thank you, Bia. It was a rather interesting bit of fallout, wasn't it? And it was pure wicked delight writing the end scene...lol...

So chuffed that you came along for the ride, and enjoyed it. And quote away! I'm honoured.

Enjoy you mini rest and may I wish you and yours a happy and healthy 2009.

PS Congrats on your fab win.

Author's Response:

Thanks Midge. I had a bit of fun with this one.

Heck, what am I saying - I had a LOT of fun with this one, especially the end scene. Thanks so much for the congrats - I think I'm still pinching myself and checking whose name is on the banners - LOL....Jules

Fabulous -- that was a great chapter!

Ah Dean -- we would all love to have him "make us some cappucino!"

Author's Response: Thank you for that. Yes, I agree - I'd willingly sit through a Dean-uccino any day. *happily daydreams of Dean making "coffee"*....Jules

the ending was hilarious! Now I want to go to Starbucks.......

Author's Response:

LOL! Hmm, I could go a coffee myself, actually....

Thanks for that. I just wanted to push the envelope a little and tap into Dean's wicked sense of humour, and his natural talent for making his little brother squirm. So happy that you got a kick out of it....Jules

I'm looking forward to your next stories and hope it won't be too long of a wait. Your writing style is amazing and your stories are always very entertaining!

Happy New Year and all the best to you!

Author's Response:

Thank you so much, Dagmar. I wanted this one to be special, as it was for Fredo. And it was fun to write, so that was an added bonus.

Hope you had a great New Year. And don't worry - I will be back very soon with another story. Lots of plot bunnies running around my office at the moment - just have to catch one....Jules

Happy new year.

Author's Response:

Oh, gosh - thank you so much. I couldn't believe it when I was told I'd won. I actually emailed Steph and asked her was she kidding...

Congrats on your win, enjoy your break, take care, and I'll be here when you'll come back.

Author's Response:

Thank you, my friend. I'm so happy that you loved your little present. It was a long time in coming, wasn't it? But we got there in the end, and you got....well, you got Dean.

Ahh, the cappuccino instructions - lol - I had such fun seeing how far I could push that description. Thank you hon...Jules

I trully am devoted to this little lecture of soon to be DEAN SEXUAL ENATIMY 101 (for starters . . . SAM) that whould be what Dean would probably thinking.

Poor SAM! I know the feeling.

Author's Response: Glad you liked Dean's little life lesson. Here's hoping that Sam might just unbend enough to put it into practice......Jules

OOOOhhhh, that was completly mean. For I also don't like the clowns after some incedent that happened to me when I was 5 in Mexico, but of course y grandfather came to the rescue.

Author's Response: Thanks for that, Sam. I'm not particularly fussed on clowns myself, but I couldn't resist a bit of Sammy torture. Thanks for reading....Jules

LOL grinning from ear to ear here. Here's hoping the fallout won't include dead bodies just satiated ones!

Author's Response: Thanks, Midge! I'm very happy to have put a smile on your dial. That was my aim. And no, no dead bodies - just very uncomfortable ones - LOL. Hope you enjoy....Jules

Dimple Boy! I love it!! Who wouldn't fall for those killer dimples? Another great chapter, Jules!! Perfect job with "the talk". Wonderful balance without turning into a chick-flick moment. Can't wait for the epilogue, but there's gonna be fallout? I'm glad you had a nice Xmas and sorry that it was without your grandpa. The first anything without a loved one is always hard. My wishes to you that as time goes on things get easier for you.

Author's Response:

Hi, Diane. Yes, the first anything is a bit rocky, but we got through it. Thank you so much for your best wishes. I count myself very blessed that I had my grandfather for 44 years of my life - some people never even get to meet their grandparents.

Glad you liked the big brother pep talk, and the dimples. And you're right - who can resist them? As for fallout, well.....there might be a wee bit....*grins evilly*....Jules

Great, such a pleasure to see them like this, the "put a little froth on your cappuccino" a perfect opening to this chapter. And then there was their talk, so intense and much needed and fits in so perfectly, all balanced, the laughter and the sad moments, like it is in life, really wonderful! Can't wait to see how it will work out for our "dimple boy"!

Author's Response: Thanks for that, Bia. Chuffed that you like the cappuccino line, and the little sex talk from big brother. Let's see if Sam puts the advice into practice. Thanks so much for reading...Jules

Thanks for the update Jules.  We do the Sydney to Hobart start too and the Boxing Day cricket.  Christmas is hard when you have lost someone special but it is nice to remember all the wonderful times you had together.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you.  K.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for that. I gave the cricket a miss, but I never miss a Hobart start if I can help it. I'd love to go down to Sydney for one, but the telly is the next best thing. And those who know me well know not to ring me while the coverage is on - the phone won't get answered - lol.

Hope you found a cool spot for Christmas Day. We had a few quiet moments thinking about my grandfather, but we were all right considering. It was a good day.

Have a great New Year, and thanks so much for reading....Jules
