This was so very GREAT!!!!. I decided to review this story in the end 'cause i was almost sitting at the edge of my seat reading it..... So i decided to write whatever i felt about this awsome story in the end.
Truly I too beleive that these brothers are two sides of the same coin and how i really wish 'Sir Eric Kripke' really did something to get Dean back from the deal.
And yes another thing, ...........never expected to see layla as the third guy. I thought it would be John. You took me by surprise when i saw it was layla. Actually it would be nice to have layla back in Supernatural. She was really nice to the winchester Brothers. She is sweet and awesome. Finally I would add that this story was really worth reading. I enjoyed it and love the winchesters even more. Good job.... !!! :)

I've wondered quite a bit about the type of girl Dean Winchester would settle down with (not that he'd ever really settle down). I think in his case it would be the old opposites attract. I think she'd be strong, adventurous, intelligent and beautiful like Dean, but also kind, gentle and fairly religious. Alicia sounds like this---Dean's perfect mate! I like that Sam answers Layla just by saying Dean is Dean and that she completely understands that. It shows both people know him well enough. How sweet---Sam offering to be Jake's big brother.
Author's Response: Thanks Shannondoah! I thought Alicia would be good for Dean as well...he needed a friend and if I was a big romance person, maybe I would have done something more with it. But she created that perfect balance for him. I loved having Layla in here and I feel she does know Dean pretty well, or can at least get a good read on him. I think somewhere in Sam's mind, he always wanted to be a big brother and repay what Dean's done for him.

Yay Bobby! Who doesn't love Bobby? He's so solid and constant. So Dean becomes an even more obsessed John Winchester? Too bad. But it makes for an entertaining story!

I like that you keep us in touch with what's happening to both boys. Although Sam's on the journey Dean is on one of his own, parallel to Sam's. Nice writing technique!

I'm glad Jess is helping Sam to realize her death wasn't his fault. He's felt guilty about something he could not have prevented. In just a few short sentences you described grief so well. Many years ago I lost the man I was going to marry. I felt exactly how you described Sam's feelings. You've done well with this chapter!

Excellent chapter! You capture the complex moods of the Winchester's very well. I like the way their thoughts explain their relaitonship. Great line! "Dean wasn't a praying man, but he turned into one right in the middle of that street." It was so strong it just caught me. How funny, Dean says he's not a religious man, doesn't believe in Him and then thinks God-knows what condition Sam is in. Sounds to me like he doesn't realize what a believer he is.

Beautiful job from start to finish...and I really didn't want it to finish! I loved the part when Sam woke up, mad at Dean, and I loved it that it was the moment of Dean taking his own life that was enough to jolt Sam back to this reality. Wonderful dialogue between the boys, funny even when it was poignant. So, due to our long association as fellow reviewers, and our author-reader relationship, I feel emboldened to ask ..... next story please?

I often ask myself if Dean would kill himself if Sam died. And nine to ten time i think he wouldn't. At least not by jumping from a roof or shot himself. But perhaps indirectly, by taking always more risks... But, here i think it's just Sam's vision, so i hurry to the next chapter !
