Can't believe I nearly missed this, what an amazing story!! Just wonderful how you connect this special song with their feelings, showing how hard this time weighed on Sam, the one left behind with all the pain and guilt, stunning description. Loved the brother moment outside the bar, so much needed to start the healing for both. And the ending was perfect, this so worked, thank you very much for writing!

Great job---if living without his brother had been worse than death for him, wouldn't the same be true for Sam? He wouldn't wish that pain on anybody, and yet he'd handed it over to his little brother without a thought.----Loved that! The song idea was good---songs do that to me too!!---making you remember a good or bad time.

Love the ending! The image of them sitting in the alleyway, trying so hard to pretend they will be alright but the song still 'playing' showing us that its a very, very long road for them to get there...
