I'm grief stricken.

How sad! I've always thought that Dean would fight until the end but what a warrior truly wants is an end to the fighting. He wants peace. You've expressed his weariness and the longing he has for a mother's love exquisitely.

Josh can't die! He and Caroline have a child that rides with Dean's kids to the disappearing town where Jan Brady lives. Dean's the Guardian---he should do something!

Okay - this tore me up more than the actually season finale last spring. Excellent writing. Kripke kept Dean in hell for approx. 4 months. How long do you and Tidia plan to keep him there?

Amazing Job! First off I have to say that it takes a lot to make me cry I can't remember the last time I cried while reading, watching tv,or a movie. However, I cried all the way through this chapter. Your story made me think of my own loved ones and to charish every moment we have with eachother and god it made me cry harder. Thank you for writing and allowing us to read your story. I do hope you both continue to write more Brotherhood stories. Thanks Again!

Very few stories make me cry... but the way you wrote this final chapter was so beautiful and so painfully moving that I just couldn't help myself. I could feel each persons emotions and the utter loss when the connection with Dean was broken and it broke my heart, too. Please bring back Captian Onehelluva Big Brother soon!

Oh the tears!! Great job with this story - I love it. I can't wait to see how you bring him back! Thanks for sharing!

I have been waiting for this piece since the first hints came out about this story - it was worth the wait. The last chapter of "In Victus" is my new favorite from the Brotherhood AU. The first read through I only managed to get to peach cobler before I started to cry. The second time through I held it together until the peanut butter cookies. My husband is convinced my daughter (also an addict) and I are insane. Thank you ladies for sharing your talents. Keep up the great work. [Delete]

okay, where do I start my complaining... First 4300 words only, guys, you're getting lazy towards the holidays! ;) And the last ones killed me, the whole part where Dean's looking at Kathleen and Riley, so sad. As for Mac and Esme, NO! They're our only as-happy-as-possible-in-this-screwed-up-world couple, you can't definitely split them. Caleb and Joshua will fix that, (hum, maybe a oneshot, soon... sorry, got lost in my fantasy land for a minute) because that part of their relationship is so funny... And, talking about Joshua, you heard Maggie, no killing Joshua zone!! He will be fine. And now what, Dean off to the farm to die peacefully... Have that Styx song coming to my mind, Time stands still as I gaze in the water, She eases me down, Touching me gently, with the waters That flow, Past my boat on the river, So I don't cry out anymore, Oh, the river is wise, The river it touches my life, like The waves on the sand, And all roads lead to tranquility base, Where the frown on my face disappears, Take me down to my boat on the river, And I won't cry out anymore, Oh, the river is deep The river it touches my life, like The waves on the sand, And all roads lead to tranquility base, Where the frown on my face disappears... Seems to fit for the Guardian and his special bond with water. Dean always found peace at the pond... Okay, I stop now. And will wait for next wednesday. Patiently. Oh god kill me now...
Just one last word. Awesome.

Okay so having read that last chapter I"m thinking I made a HUGE mistake, I so should have waited until the final chappy was posted. Man, Joshua, Esme, poor Mac, and now Dean preparing himself for his death. Makes me think the two of you are just cruel....well that or you just really know how to reel us all in and keep us hanging on for dear life. Great story and I look forward to next weeks update and the next story to follow - kel ;)

Okay so I have carefully stayed away from all hints of this story until you neared the end. Now that I see the last chapter will be up Wednesday I'm gonna finally give in. Great start, and an amazing opening. I have to tell you the fact that I'm completely heartbroken over poor Boone is a compliment to you storytelling. Here is a character that was only ever on the fringe and yet I weap that he's gone - Thanks for a great start - kel ;)

The end of that chapter was so touching - Dean's plea to "go home" and his reasoning behind it - the way Sam seems to skip back to where he belongs... on the SAME PAGE as his brother, and understands Dean's wishes instantly. Caleb is heartbreaking in his reaction - how much more can he loose today? The loss of hope seems a heavy blow for him. Sad chapter - and don't get me started on Mac and Esme - how am I going to survive the next chapter?!!! But I think NOT knowing would be the worse torture. Well written, the dynamic of the boys in this stressful position together for the first time worked very well. Great chapter - roll on next week!

Outstanding chapter. This is an excellent story. Such an all pervasive sense of sadness throughout. The final scene of acceptance had the tears rolling down my face, you have me so enthralled by all these wonderful characters. Poor Joshua!! The sense of shock by everyone was beautifully conveyed. I would be really concerned that he was about to die. Esme and Mac was just another layer of pain on top - I thought this would have had them leaning on each other, but its heartbreaking to see it tearing them apart (are you girls trying to break me?!) Once again it is so believably real. And I really loved your description of Adam. Also glad to see Carolyn rush to Josh's side - see Josh there are lots of people who care about you - including our beloved triad. Im desparate to see what you are going to do with the deal. The painful vividness of it may require several boxes of tissues. Im just so grateful that at the heart of your stories is hope, so I know somewhere down the line there will be joy again. Thanks as always for sharing your amazing work.

Oh my, you sucker punched me with Sam's sudden acceptance of Dean's fate, and it leaves me worrying how big a box of tissues I'll need for the next chapter. And I hope Joshua makes it, and Esme and Mac can still find some happiness together, somewhere, sometime.

So good. It brings tears to my eyes. I love the hope that shines in all the stories of the brotherhood. Thanks.
