A very sincery and now undersatandable of a person, but he is still takeing advantage of the boys and thats not fair for either one of them
Author's Response: I couldn't agree with you more, Sam. :D. That's one of the reasons I wrote this story. My best friend is of the opinion that John did everything he could and that he was a good father...I'm of the opinion that he could have done a LOT different and saved them ALL a LIFETIME of pain and suffering. Whoa - I'm struggling for the right words. Though short, this piece touched on so much of John's feelings. Better yet, it touched on his emotions in a way that just shouts to the reader that John wants to be a good dad, ut he doesn't know how - other than preparing his sons for a hard life. This has given me so much insight on John's character, I have to thank you. Keep being awesome, dude!

John is a hard man to understand and he may not always show it but he does love his boy's. i thought you captured John's feelings perfectly,well done.

Author's Response: Penmin, Thank you, for your kind review and rating. :). I actually wrote this in response to an ongoing personal debate between myself and another SN fan. We have very differing views of John Winchester and this fic was simply a way of instating me POV on how he works. :P. Glad that you enjoyed it! I agree, we need more John Winchester stories. ;).
