This makes me ache BJ. The look of devastation in Dean's eyes as he gazed at this mother as Mary lay with John in her arms after she sealed her deal is forefront in my head as I read your words. Through your deep reflection I again feel how trapped Mary was, and I know that Dean knew that too. "A whisper of want, In exchange for nothing" that turned into everything...Beautiful, I love it.

Oh, Cookie, thanks!  This is one that I wish somehow I could have written better, but I do think that one line says it all.  YED was so devious, Mary and the rest so desperate and he used their love against them.

How could she have ever known how it would all turn out?  How the one thing she never wanted for her children turned into the driving force of their lives?

And then Castiel telling Dean that he couldn't have changed anything in the past, it all happened as it was meant to.  Dean certainly had a ton of anguish heaped on him there.  Thanks again, B.J.
