My heart is breaking for Dean right now. At the same time it is aching to find out if Sam is all right. I hope that woman isn't still hanging around, and that Sam will get out unscathed. Man, John is a plick. No wonder Sam rebelled like he did. And Dean - he was too well-trained, but I bet there were times when he ached to have a screaming match with John like Sam did. Mind you, there were sparks of rebellion in Dean during Season 1 - specifically when Sam was involved. My favourite moment was the fight by the side of the road in Dead Man's Blood, when Dean took Sam's side and pulled John's fist away from his shirt. That was a really telling moment - if Dean had been siding with his father, he would have been standing facing Sam, and not standing protectively in front of his little brother. That was a wonderful moment. Jules

I can't believe that someone like Dean always bowed to his father's wishes, he will have kicked back at some point I think. I like John but he is a bit of an idiot sometimes.
I loved the fight in DMB, I love Dean having to get on John's case and as you say not taking his side, but protecting his brother. I like the dynamic between them all in that one, one of my favourite episodes because of that.

Morse - absolutely wonderful. So, I'm thinking that the trouble is possibly one of the sisters? Perhaps the one who caught him, since the creature they were hunting at the time has decided that Dean's girlfriend should make a nice snack. Looking forward to more of the backstory. Jules

Glad you liked the Morse, when I got the idea for this I was like....how do I get them all to talk with Dean like that and the idea came to me.
The culprit will be revealed and there will be a little twist in that department.

One line really leapt out at me - that thought of Bobby's when Dean held out the slice of pizza, and Bobby knew that "his" Dean was still in there somewhere. That was very special. I had tears in my eyes at Dean's panic and his little breakdown. How impossibly hard this must be for him, relying on sight and sound for his whole life, not just as normal people do but as a hunter especially, and being robbed of that because of a woman's need for revenge. Tough times ahead for both boys. I'll say again - thank God for Bobby. Jules
Author's Response: Hi Jules Thanks, I wanted show that Dean was still there even though it was hard for him at that moment. I loved Dean little breakdown, just 'cos it not something he does a lot, vunerable doesn't sit well with him. Actually, I love the inclusion of Bobby. He's just such a great character, and a wonderful support for the boys. Thank God for Bobby - without him, I don't know how the boys would have survived some of the things that got thrown at them during season 2 and 3, and now 4. Poor Dean - trapped and feeling so alone, trying to stop himself thinking that Sam had gone. Thankfully Sam wasn't far. They're going to have to work on their signals a wee bit, it seems. Jules

Such a heart-rending moment, for both brothers. Sam finding Dean like that and discovering that his brother was blind, deaf and dumb, and Dean trapped in darkness and silence, not knowing at the start who had hold of him. Thankfully the woman hasn't robbed him of his sense of touch or smell - he could still tell it was Sam and the Impala, and take what little comfort he could from that. Hopefully Sam will find a way to break the spell. Jules

Mary, I'm sorry....I started reading this, and then completely lost track of it as I seem to do when the writing bug bites me. I become a hermit, then have to backtrack and pick up what I missed. Very intriguing and scary start - Dean's terror as three of his senses were cut off was palpable. Thank God Sam is on his way, though what he is going to do about this spell, I'm not sure. Sounds like powerful magic. And what is her grudge against Dean? Obviously a very bitter one night stand....or is there something more? Jules

Mary I love the ending to this story..Nothing better than torturing Dean and then putting him almost back together in the end. The Bobby/Mags part had me cracking up..Dean and Aubrey had me nearly in tears..looking forward to more stories from you..Thanks for writing.

Great ending, and I did love reading this story mainly because of Dean, huge fan and don;t mind him getting hurt/tortured so long as he gets saved and recovers, Please keep the Dean/Sam storied coming, Can't wait for another new story or are you going to go back to an unfinished one. I think this chapter was the most torturous for Dean, having to ask his brother to help him get dressed!!! It was precious, and leave it to Sam to egg him on. Can't wait for the ending although it's bitter sweet to have it finished!

There was a point for that scene there is a flip side of it in the final chapter to show Dean's getting his stubborn streak back. Hope you like!

Of course I loved the chapter, just because it's gentler doesn't mean it's not great. If you'd injured Dean any further I'm not sure he'd have ever got up again. But yet again you have me intrigued. What is it that Dean needs Sam's help with? Only time will tell, just don't make us wait too long...PLEASE.
