this is a great start and i so blended intot the story of the structure as if it was something good to eat for my satisfaction garuntee.

Powerful short piece with some very touching aspects. Loved that Sam does not know if he imagined Jess's words at first . Being haunted by her after the fire was like his last link to her and like leaning into her touch even though it's painfull (brillient idea there!!!) - it's something of Jess and that's good enough for Sam.
You captured a beauitful 'what if?' here and I agree with your reasoning that these spirits were "twisted" due to Lilith's spell. Nice Job.
