Dean fading in and out of consciousness without us knowing was very effective. You put us in Dean's state of mind. The blood sacrifice was scary but menitoning that it had been a baby amped the horror factor to the top. Excellent!

"And that just makes the misery so much more miserable." You have an interesting way of phrasing words that wnot only gets the point across vividly but seems a little tongue-in-cheek. Very clever! Then there's the obvious smart ass banter that we all love: "Fainting might be a good plan, Dean." "Sorry, not a girl, Sammy." What?! All this time Casper the friendly ghost has been hanging around letting the boys get beat up when he can ghost bust Puffy?

"Dean practically heard his brother’s eyebrows go up." Using Dean's senses and his knowledge of his brother to imagine Sam's reactions are great techniques in telling this story! I also enjoyed the bit about hearing Sam roll his eyes. “I might be dying a little, Sammy,” Dean whispered. Sam’s hand closed over his. “Maybe more than a little.” At first the drama of this statement started the adrenaline pumping, then I caught the humor in it.

Every chapter has a cliff hanger1 Ughhh! It's sweet torture! I think I would have left the woman ghost to find out some informaiton from her. It's probably Annie the maid and she may know something useful.

As much as I love reading hurt Dean - it wouldn't be any good without the comfort from Sam - Your story is excellent as it has both of those things - plus a good story.
