Well, an unexpected and brilliant twist - J. W. is Jake Washington, not John Winchester. And a nice bit of foreshadowing at the end, too. Overall, this was a terrific read, nicely plotted and full of the elements that make the Winchester universe so fun to play in. While the graphic content had me cringing on occasion, it wasn't as heavy-handed as it could've been and it did have a purpose. Part of me is wishing that you'll write something lighter next time-- and the other part is wondering if there's a sequel, with the Winchesters going after Mr. Anderson, and hopefully preventing him from returning his demon twin to this Earth. Author's Response: HI there I was wondering if anyone would pick up on the fact that the initials were the same, I like a little twist at the end and I usually like to link it somewhere into the seasons too, though not usually as much as stealing part of an episode. lol Thanks your comments are really kind and I'm glad that the torture wasn't too much for you but I had to get John mad! I do have a little series of stories under 'showers and sheets' were I go every now and again to lighten the load on the old muse!! A sequel is a great idea, got two stories boiling on the pot just now but that would be fun I think, just as long as the bracelets don't end up on the boys again!! lol Thanks again Sue, Mary xx

Wow, you covered a lot of ground in the last few chapters. Loved the double devil's trap, and the way John sprang it was all John--well, and a bit of Jack Traven, too ("Shoot the hostage.") Setting this close to Something Wicked was a great move, too, making it easy for everyone to believe that John would choose to save Sam, although it looked like he didn't, originally. I can't believe John just took off, after all that---well, yes, I can, but still... I hope he comes back for a little while, at least, after he's taken care of Jake. Off to read more. Sue

I love all the episode around SW and DMB wanted people to think Sam would be him choice but really John would never choose I don't think, not unless he was going to loose one anyway. Whoa, finally got caught up with the backstory, I just kept clicking Next and read all the way through, didn't even stop to review. You've provided a really interesting, wrenching and believable reason for John and Daniel's falling out. Nice almost-mention of the Colt, too;-) Your portrayal of ruthless!John hits the mark, too. If John's willing to die to save his sons, it's not too far a leap to believe that he'd kill for them, too.. even a human. The ending has me wondering how the heck this can be resolved, with the bracelets tethering 2 Winchesters. Unless, Sam's demon blood prevents Sam from being killed by this?? Off to find out. Sue
Author's Response: HI Sue, Glad you liked the reason for John and Daniel's fall out and how John almost knew that Daniel had the Colt but was never quite sure until he read the letter. I had the back story idea first and built the rest around it. I really think that there isn't a thing that the Winchester's would do for each other...no line that they wouldn't cross if it was family in danger. I never thought about using Sam's demon blood that way, actually quite wished I had!! Thanks, Mary x

Wow!!! Totally wicked story!!! The torture got me at first, (eeek!!) but the calvary to the rescue and the legend of the two bracelets really kept me reading on. The ending.....perfect tie-in!!! Great job!!! You should be proud!

interesting chappy...not quite sure how Bobby could read the Latin transcription and not understnd what he was reading, yet know enough to understand that everything needed to be done in twos and what he needed to perform the ritual. Interesting twist that the demon inhabited Dean...nice job! bambers;)
Author's Response: Hi Bambers Sorry I'll need to re-read this and maybe alter it. He could read and understand the latin translation for how the ritual was performed but the rest of the book wasn't in a language he could translate without referencing it, although he knew how to pronounce the language just didn't know the meaning of the words. The latin translation was only how to perform the actual ritual not the words for the ritual itself. (Does this explaination actually make that clearer! Well first off, I've been really busy with school, so I just got the chance to read all the chapters you posted. And I got say I was blown away but what I read. It was really good. another awesome update..I liked Sam getting to tell John how he felt about him blaming Dean for the Striga attack.. I loved last nights episode..I thought it was great, for some reason I think Dean is going to be the one to go dark side...I don't know thou its just a hunch..probably won't happen..lol..I need to stop arguing with myself..
