Oh, yea, I completely forgot about John's wedding band...they took off his dog tails and buried that, but not the ring...hmmmm...interesting. I like how Sam and Dean kinda gave Bobby the "Honorary Winchester" name. He truly is like a father to them, now more than ever. I truly loved this cute little story! Absolutely wonderful story!
Author's Response: I always wondered why they didn't bury it with the tags, just seemed odd. Bobby deserves to be an Honorary Winchester doesn't he. Thank you I did enjoy that read. It was light hearted but full of emotion. Well done. I for one have to admit that what happened to John's wedding ring never occured to me, but then neither my sister or I have any idea what happened to my mother's ring when she died.

What a wonderful one-shot! I loved the idea behind it. I always wondered what happened to John's/some of the boys' old possessions. Until BDABR we don't have a clue. It's a great idea to give Bobby the ring. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Ok, this is the first review I've ever written, so sorry if I ramble. This left me tearing up over my morning tea. I love the boys and Bobby together, and you've captured their relationship perfectly I think. Love the idea of Dean being the one to make a fuss over Bobby's birthday, and of course he'd do it in his own style- stolen steaks and a card with naked women. The presentation of John's ring was touching. The three of them are a family, we even have canon to back that up: Dean's line in DALDOM "You're like a father to me" and Bobby's in NRFTW "Family don't end with blood." I agree, I can't see them leaving the ring with John's ashes, so what happened to it? (I wear my mom's ring on my right hand) Wonderful litte story to start my day.
Author's Response: Hi there, Thanks for chosing this for your first review and don't worry its a great review. I loved the line in DALDOM and Dean's face when he said. It was that that gave me the main idea for this story. I suppose that they could have left it with John as there is no one to pass it on to at the moment, but I really think they would have kept it. Great story. Bobby's birthday..wonder how old he is..lol..If I was thinking like Dean I would probably of left the ring on his finger..to me that would be his last life line to Mary so he would of wanted to leave it with him..even thou he was cremated. My dad doesn't wear a band but my mom does and she will be buried with it when she dies. She's had them on so long I don't think we could get them off anyways..I think Sam would of wanted to bury them with there mother, but it doesn't show that on the show just his dog tags..Damn now i'm gonna be thinking about that while i'm trying to sleep..lol..What happened to the ring..Thanks for writing..Awesome story.
Author's Response: Hi there, Thanks for the review. I think if they had buried John I'd have never though about it but 'cos they cremated him it crossed my mind. I was actually watching 'Home' the other night and John was playing with the ring at the end and that's what brought it to a head. Now of course you've brought something up that I never thought of...where are Mary's rings? Lost in the fire or is that the one that Dean wears?? Anyways thank you for reviewing, you make my day.
