Wow - just saw this recced on LJ's spngenlove forum. Absolutely gorgeous! You really got inside Dean's head here, and I particularly loved the part where he was wondering whether it would be easier if he didn't remember Mary, but then looked at Sam and realised it wouldn't. *sniff* Bizarre that season 1 angst suddenly seems so uncomplicated!

Wow. I wish I could find something other to say except "this was beautiful" but my mind is still processing this fic. I think you captured a stunning moment in time in Dean's life, a brief reprieve he seldom gets or allows himself to have. A lot of writers can't pull off a second person POV, but you did it here with perfect sincerity and no feeling of affectation. Thank you for writing. Eleri
Author's Response: Thanks for reaing! This one was kind of a chage from my usual fayre - it's generally a lot more angst ridden and a fair bit more action packed, so it's really nice to know it worked. I do like playing with tenses and different POVs, if only because it keeps me on my toes, so again, great to hear you liked it! Hopefully, with the sun, will come some more of this style. It seems to be weather dependant...

That was a nice little slice of introspection. And a great little tag to Dead In The Water. Love the fact that Dean could read the expression in Sam's eyes even across the width of the carpark, and through a window to boot. And my heart aches, just a little (well, a little more than a little) for that sad little boy with the big green eyes. Jules

Ah Cal, that was as beautiful as ever. The little boy with the aching green eyes and a sad smile brought a major lump to my throat and a tear to my aching blue ones. A very chilled out bit of downtime for our boys, nice to know Dean can squeeze just a little angst in there for us. I loved caring, sharing Sam hovering in the background. Such an incredibly hot (in more ways than one) image of Dean lying back against the hood, mmmhhh!! I'm sure Birdie will be totally delighted with this! See you soon. Jane x
