I'm confused. I didn't see that this story had one before it, that this was a sequel. So who is Laura? Why is Dean calling her pet names that he wouldn't normally use? I'm confused with some references to things mentioned with no explanation or a hint that it relates to another earlier story.

Do you have other stories with Laura, her gift, and her mentor Cernunnos? I want to read more. Also curious about the Igigi and Anunnaki. Darkfaling had me hooked from the beginning. While it was dark story, the suffering always had a point. There were so many places where I could see memories from this story breing explained in a future story. I about lost it with the end. I hope it is leading to another story and not just the end of Sam.

Awww. there is a lot of tenderness in this chapter, and a lot of fear for the boys and Laura too. I always find it frustrating that their lives are not their own, that they are being manipulated by the forces around them, and you have made me feel that all through this story. Of course, the way that they respond to those situations is what makes them such big damn heroes, and I seriously love that about them -and about your writing!

Get ready to blush again! I am still really enjoying this, will be sorry to get to the end. You described the fight so well, and the dialogue is great as usual - it's a very enjoyable ride! Loved this part: "You were a child Dean... you didn't have any choice... believe it or not, in this war that's coming?... what happened then has no relevance... but the fact that it still causes you that much pain... it's one of the reasons it's so easy to love you..." This chapter really has the feeling of moving towards a climax - not always easy to achieve, but you are doing it so well. Of course, I know where it's going because it's not my first reading, but I have the luxury of more time the second time around to pay attention to how you did it, instead of just enjoying the ride. You are doing a great job handling all of the threads you have going in your story - this chapter is a great example of that. I love the way you describe Dean as "fury unleashed" because I think that perfectly describes that coiled energy we see from him on the show. And I would describe the ending of this chapter as an emotional cliffhanger - poor Sam! Looking forward to the next instalment!

I love your descriptions, there are some great examples in this chapter. This was a short one but I liked the imagery: Wordlessly, eyes glassy with facets of anguish, he nodded. Wonderful. I don't think I have mentioned before that I think it is great that you are exploring the idea of an unknown destiny for Sam and Dean and Laura: that someone or someone(s) are pulling the strings and manipulating situations. Love that moment of revelation for Sam, when he recognises the spread-too-thin desolation and knows that Dean needs him too. And that Dean's overwhelming response towards Sam is not disgust or despair, but determination to free him from his unwanted visitor. And Dean can still snark - he'd rather have a beer!
