Quite comprehensible Mari's dark attraction worked and affected John (enjoyed Mari's "like lambs to the slaughter" comment), but John blaming himself afterwards shows the decent man he is. The situation now even more perilous, what an opponent, this face-off will be a hell of a fight - in every respect! So good!

About "Season" - think I tend to "awful beyond words", but whatever it will be, it's fine with me!

I told myself I wasn't going to start anymore unfinshed stories...... and then I got sucked into this one and just couldn't stop myself.  I'm hopeless, but loving the story.  Please keep posting. Loving your spunky Dean and sweet little Sammy.

Author's Response: Thanks so much, Jeanne. If you promise to keep reading, I'll promise to keep posting as fast as I can. Deal?

Perfectly balanced - a bit of laughter (what a lovely snow scene) and then again rising desaster , tragic how shattered their lives are (and this last sentence tells it all!); just love the relation between John and Jewels, they'd be a wonderful pair, hopefully John can keep her out of harm's way, I really like this girl!

Author's Response: I like to think John deserved a little TLC along his highway to hell.

Got goose bumps reading this, first Ross's desperate and eager fight, braving evil til the end and then John walking right in on Mari (and she's dangerous even in her human form), grand!

Author's Response: As ever, I cherish your reviews, They keep me going, along with the voices in my head.

Very cool story so far - can't wait to see what happens next!

Author's Response: Thank you for the nice words.  I hope I can keep you guessing.

Your're spoiling me with these wonderful chapters, but please don't stop! Can't get enough of this young Dean, and yes, he unquestionably grew up to "an exceptional human being"!!

Author's Response: That's our boy!

Just wow! The way you create and write these characters, this is so good! Jewel's late husband, he was a lot like John (a John I'm beginning to understand thanks to you) and with your description you made him real; also Jewel's reaction was wonderful, really like this tough lady and with her final words - "And kill the bitch" - you're throwing us right into this scary werewolf-hunt, great work!

Oh, and I can't tell how much I'm looking forward to read "Season of the witch"!

Author's Response: Drafting "Season" in my head as I'm writing this one. I keep vacillating between light hearted, endearing witch to one that is awful beyond words. Any preference?

John opening up a bit to Jewels, this tells a lot, he sure likes her. Powerful and intense chapter end scene, loved it!

Author's Response: Thank you. Now my head is really big!

Fantastic update, again blissful family moments with Jewels and the boys (forgot to mention this, little Sam sure is adorable, too) and John secluding himself with all his painful thoughts - "...no one could help him and not die along the way...", but still longing for his boys and family, excellent!

Author's Response: Sam, young or old, is the most difficult to write for me. Maybe its because I'm a consummate smart-ass, like Dean. All my stories tie into one another in some way and this story is the beginning of Sam's and Sabine's "Season of the Witch".

It's so special how you write young Dean, really grasping his nature, so much fun to read!!!

Author's Response: I LOVE to write Dean at any age. He's my reason for watching Supernatural!

5+6: You're creating such a wonderful atmosphere with Jewels and the kids, catching the chemistry, really love this! And then, opposite to this John's hunt, a werewolf, the danger so obvious all the time in their lives, forceful great description!!

Author's Response: Aw, I'm blushing. I really appreciate your thoughts on my stories so I know I'm  not getting too far out there which is kind of easy to do.

You've got me hooked!!  Great job!  Love the story.....keep more coming!

Author's Response: Thank you so much.  I hope you enjoy.

Yes, absolutely recognize our Dean in this younger version, this little guy rocks! Enjoyed!

Author's Response: Its kind of scary how I can become a ten year old boy. There's something to be said for multiple personalities.

Oh, this is getting better and better. Definitely I like this John, never considered this side of him and Jewels, fascinatingly complex (another wonderful character you created), tough, with her own scars but still caring about others. Laughed at her Dean-"midget" compare and nearly cracked when she told John she responded to his cry for help - "It don't matter"..."But it does"! There are also mysterious deaths, so I couldn't ask for more, great chapter!

Author's Response: I’m starting to open up old wounds to see what makes John tick.  It’s a challenge writing young Dean but I attended a seminar titled ‘You Are What You Were Then” and learned a kid’s value system is in place by the time he’s ten years old.  And despite Demon!Dean saying to Dean that everything he owned was originally his father’s, there’s no way he wasn’t gonna love classic cars and 80’s metal when he grew up.

Jut finished reading and reviewing this story on fanfic.net and I am moved to give additional praise for your outstanding story.

I hope you have many more; I felt like I had stepped into an actual episode of the show.  Thank you.

Author's Response: Thanks you so much for the reviews. I'm pretty apprehensive when I post a story. There are so many SPN fans who have definite like and dislikes and I know I can’t please everyone but to just please even one is a plus and to please a few more is even better so thanks again.

I'm hooked right from the start by this rhyme, very subtle and dark, just the way I like it! This is the first time ever I read a John centred story, but acutally I really enjoy it, want to know more about John and his relationship with the boys and certainly him facing "a demon of his own". Excellent written, hilarious Dean-Jewels scenes (and she is so cool, like her), great opening!!

Author's Response: Hey Girl! Thanks for giving it a read.  I think there's a lot more to John than just ShutUp!Daddy.  He's embarked on a horrific journey and has his reasons for keeping his kids close by.
