Wow! That was worth the wait! I'd pretty much figured out the wandering bullet part, but I gotta say I never saw the twist at the end coming! Fabulous! Also, with respect to your self-deprecating, caustic sense of humor, that's the best kind to have IMHO! I enjoy reading your comments at the end of the chapters almost as much as reading the chapters themselves! They always give me a chuckle.
Author's Response: I' really glad the ending worked. It's the only part of the story I had planned out, getting to it was the killer. The A/n's are my ritual anymore. I HAVE to write them. Glad you enjoy them.

OMG that was AMAZING. I'm weak. I'm not kidding. If I could have crawled inside my computer to read this I would have. And the WHOLE TIME Caleb was recounting the story I was like... there's something else... there's something else... it's not that easy... and then the coda with the bullet switcheroo! Oh, so, so great. So great. Take a bow, woman. From a one-shot to an epic with lots of blood and angst and a fantastic twist at the end. I am in awe.
PS -- Way to promo the VS in your a/n. You're my hero. :)

I am the fly to your spider... Ok, I had it figured that it was a bullet causing the pain. Initially, I thought silver and somehow Dean was werewolf infected or something... I didn't see Caleb's "proof" with the marked bullets with the first clue in the last chapter, but I did figure it out before Sam. BUT I never saw the ending coming! Poor Dean! Thanks for another great story. I was hoping for a little recuperatingDean though... I will definitely be watching for you in the new VS - I loved your eppys from last season.

aaaaaarrrrrrrggggggh! I laughed, I cried, I pulled my hair out! I loved Dean having to improve to look like shit. Also Sam's thinking him beautiful. Great change in perspective - I knew it couldn't be quite the way Dean was remembering it. Please don't kill any kittens - and really, if you need more than one more chapter....

Poor Sam, watching your brother bleeding to death while driving fifty miles on a icy road. Thank god, they arrived at the hospital safely. No wonder Sam collapsed. Dean brought in surgery. I hope he'll be ok. That was an intense chapter. Terrific work Terry and so a captivating story so far. I'm looking forward for the next chapter for the hunt story, can't wait to find out what happened.

Oh thank God for your end note -- as the scroll bar (which I paid attention to this time) krept closer to the bottom I was like "this CAN'T be it... what happened with the werewolf? the hunt? the shooting? CALEB?"
Thanks for giving us a taste instead of making us wait. Whew. And I'm going to wait for the boys to come on now with the image of Dean with his head on Sam's leg... whimper. Poor, poor boys.

Woman! Get crackin! I was so involved I didn't realize my scroll bar was reaching the bottom of my screen and suddenly there YOU were again... holy crap. This was intense. INTENSE. Nearest hospital is fifty miles?? Dean's pulse is weaker?? Throwing up blood like a fountain?? OF COURSE YOU HAVE TO DO ANOTHER CHAPTER!! Here's me hoping that chapter is already written and you're just fine tuning it... You sure know how to twist the screws... and that's a very good point about blood being an aphrodesiac... especially if it's Dean's.... *goes off to read chapter again* Maybe we need to trap you in a room with nothing but paper and pen more often...

Awesome chapter! Dean's getting worse, "vomiting blood like a frigging fountain" (LOL), and Sam wants Dean in the front seat with him.
