That was lovely - and I adored the symmetry of the last bit. And that made perfect sense that they would have trouble sleeping in a room on their own, having gotten so attuned to each other's presence.

I had a giggle at Ida's little squeak - but oh, I have to say, that sandwich description? Now I'm hungry for roast beef and herb bread.....

Lovely, Vanessa - as lovely as those two toned bodies.....*drools happily all over the keyboard*.......Jules

Author's Response:

I can remember being hungry for that sandwich when I wrote the story.  And I think now I'm hungry for it again.  lol  Hmmm, maybe I'll put that on my grocery list.

I'm incredibly happy that you liked this one, Jules.  Thank you for taking the time to leave such a wonderful, kind review.

Vanessa,

This was adorable - what we call smarm in The Sentinel fandom. I loved it. Ida sure got an eyeful, lucky old gal!!  And neither brother can sleep without hearing the other one nearby, awww...  Sue

Author's Response: Thank you very much, Sue.  I'm glad you enjoyed it.  I love smarm.  :-)  Ohhh to be Ida, eh?

Well, you hit all the markers Vanessa, a bit of brotherly banter, some nice shower scenes and a sweet 'aww' moment...thanks for the great read - Kel ;)

Author's Response: Thank you, Kel!!  I'm so happy to hear that you liked it and that I hit all the right markers for the story.  I appreciate you taking the time to read and review.  :-)

Thank you for writing something for my sister, this challenge is such a wonderful outpouring for her.  And as our family has a thing for old cars and sibling rivalry, this story will be right up her alley - although commenting on some of the other scenes here I'll, ahem, leave to her when she's able (blush) ma'am.  Thank you again, Sam (and Jake and Nate)

Author's Response:

Thank you, kind sir.  I truly appreciate you taking the time to leave me a little comment.  It means a lot to me.  You (and Angela---Jake and Nate too!) are very welcome, Sam.

And may I say that you put the biggest grin on my face with your verbal blush.  hehe  Thanks!

Aww Vanessa, that was so sweet... and scrumptous!  Very sweet!  Also, there's something about picturing the boys covered in muck that's oh so sexy!!  Nicely done...

Now, where's that fractured skull going? (You know what I mean)

Author's Response:

"Also, there's something about picturing the boys covered in muck that's oh so sexy!!"

OH!  You mean I'm not the only one who thinks so???  I mean, I thought it was just another one of my strange quirks.  hehehe

Thank you, thank you Helen!  I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed this little story!

I promise that the next chapter of "In the Darkest Corners" is coming soon.  I was just on vacation for 3 days and wanted desperately to do it then, but I had a nasty cold and between that and the heat, my thought processes were a little muzzy.

Author's Response: Thank you!  I'm happy that you liked it.

Just what I needed! With all the horror and desaster Sam and Dean are usually have to deal with, it feels so good they sometimes have these normal and lighter days, so I definitely enjoyed watching them while they shared these blessed little family moments - and you again catched this special atmosphere and these two just perfect!; most of all I loved the night-scene, this said everything, they're family, comfort, home for each other, wonderful!!!

Author's Response: Thank you so much, bia!  I'm very happy to know that you liked this story so much.  It means a lot.

That was a really lovely story.

Very sweet that they can't sleep in seperate rooms.

Author's Response: Thank you, darkhunter.  I'm glad to know the idea worked and wasn't too schmoopy.

Reviewer: fredo (Signed) · Date: 09/07/08 01:37 PM · On: Sleep TIght, Sleep Tight, Don't Let the Bedbugs Bite

well, i bet Ida didn't regret her offer on preparing them some food, the view was worth it! Because hey, old maybe but not dead, and two practically naked Winchesters are always enjoyable right...

Author's Response:

Oh, yes--absolutely--two practically naked Winchesters are exceptionally enjoyable.

And you're right--old not dead.  hehe  My mother says that all the time when it comes to the boys.

I'm glad you enjoyed this little tale, fredo.  Thank you for taking the tiem to review.

this was just great!!!

I loved your descriptions of our tired, dirty, dragging boys, with nowhere to sleep ....visually complete and vivid/OUTSTANDING!!!!

beautifully written and carried out!!!

Dean needing to hear Sam's sleepy tones and going to sleep on the floor to be near him-perfect.

Thanks os much for sharing this tender story.

BRAVO!!!!!!!!

Author's Response:

So it wasn't too lame then?  I worried that it would be a tad too schmoopy even though I liked the idea when I thought of it.  I guess not though 'cause I've been asked to do a sequel--and hey you never know.

Thank you so much for your lovely words and stars for this little tale.  I'm so happy that you liked it!

Aaw, so sweet, don't you just want to tuck them both in and pat their pretty heads!!

I loved Ida and her frilly B & B, the delightful shower scenes and the ending was just so perfect.  Lovely, thank you.  Jane

Author's Response:

Thank you so much, Jane, for reading and leaving a lovely review and pretty stars.  I truly appreciate your kind words.

Yes, indeed, I would love to tuck them in and pat their pretty heads.

Awww...that's so sweet!!! the boys can't sleep unless they have the other in the same room....and they both have the same thoughts of going to the other's room...i swear, they think almost in sync with each other....much more than some twins.. :)

And i would love to trade places with Ida!!!!!! LOL

Author's Response: Oh, my, yes--as I was writing I was wishing to trade places with her.  LOL  I'm glad you enjoyed the story.  Thank you for taking the time to read and review.

HI Vanessa

Sorry this is def. a 5 star production I have no idea what I did that only left 2.5!!

It's a great story.  Mary x

Author's Response:

Was just teasing you a bit, Mary.

:-)

The ending was so cute! ^^ I've had a poopy day with things falling on my head and what not, I'm sure your story made many people very happy.

Author's Response: Thank you, WynterSun.  Glad you enjoyed it.  I hope it brightened the poopy day you had just a little bit.

Reviewer: jackfan2 (Signed) · Date: 08/07/08 09:49 PM · On: Sleep TIght, Sleep Tight, Don't Let the Bedbugs Bite

Truely enjoyed that! So nice to occasionally see the boys with their guards down, just relating to one another and for once, a kindly sympathetic outsider.

 Nicely done!

Author's Response:

Thank you very much!!!  It is nice to see them somewhat relaxed, isn't it?  I'm so happy you enjoyed it.

Laura

Great story!  I shared a bedroom with my sister for 15 years and you really do get accustomed to the sound of their breathing.

Author's Response:

Thank you, Shannon.  It might be a pretty lame story idea, but it is what it is...  hehe

And yeah, it is one of those things you get used to.

Reviewer: cheri (Signed) · Date: 08/07/08 06:55 PM · On: Sleep TIght, Sleep Tight, Don't Let the Bedbugs Bite

This was nice; I really liked how the boys couldn't sleep without the other in the room. Nice job!

Author's Response: Thank you for taking the time to read and review.  It might be the world's lamest idea for a "Family" story, but it was all the old muse would be generous with.

Reviewer: Smudge93 (Signed) · Date: 08/07/08 06:37 PM · On: Sleep TIght, Sleep Tight, Don't Let the Bedbugs Bite

I'm I allowed to use sweet to describe the Winchesters in this??

I like this lots and I'm sure Angela will appreciate the double shower scene.

Well Done!  Mary x

Author's Response:

Awww, only 2 1/2 stars?  Are you sure you liked it?  :-)
